  1. It's a fair point.
  2. Likewise. I felt a bit let down by him in a way when he ran for cover last time. He no doubt has his own reasons, but at face value it always appears to me that he has an issue with nailing his flag to the mast as a Rangers Man. It frustrates me because (1) he is a 'made' man and I doubt there is any 'risk' to his potential business success (does he see it as a stigma in some way?), and (2) in these unsettled times for our Club, we need as much weight behind us as possible, and what better way to deliver a counter blow to those trying to weaken our resolve than have one of the country's top businessmen proudly lift the flag and lead us forward? That is one reason I've always been behind Dave King. He shouts to the world that he is a Rangers Man and takes great pride in it.
  3. Hasn't that always been McColl's way? Didn't he run for the hills when his cover was blown as the 'underwriter' of the fans consortium 'bid' a while back?
  4. I wish you had kept that line to yourself.
  5. You really think they need to advertise that they run buses, and go to those lengths to do it? If people don't know what their business is, then hiring that little turd (who makes Spiers look like Rocky) to advertise it is hardly a good marketing ploy.
  6. Not sure what the story is behind the interview on the bus. A lot of people saying it lacks class (a bit like Dalgliesh conducting his conference in Bairds Bar), and I must admit there is something about them that doesn't give me that 'grounded' feeling that my Club would be in safe hands. That aside, is there any chance they were just playing the game with the little BBC scrotum i.e. "you will get an interview (which they shouldn't have given him IMHO) but you wont be given any hospitality" i.e. a bus is the best you get pal?
  7. FFS - When someone is asking what our kit is going to be like don't open up with that. I nearly choked on my last (or maybe 2nd last) beer.
  8. Ehhmm, should that not ready 'David Murray era'? I love how they pin it on Advocaat. Like the kid who get's his dad to buy the whole sweet shop for him, and it's the kid's fault!!
  9. Who has supposed to have written that? I can't put my finger on it, but the structure and grammatic layout look like something some young guy did towards his Uni degree marking. NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming - Paul McKenna is into it - only £250 to £500 per session)? You are having a giggle!! Individual mature sportsmen - yes. Mature rugby players - maybe, but young Scottish boys - forget it. Undoubtedly things in there we would all agree on given our 'Nirvana', but realistic?
  10. From my point of view I can kind of see where FS is coming from, based on my post above. It would have done us no harm as a Club to have had the scope to generate a little bit more income through price increases, but it's very diffucult to justify it after the season we have had, along with the uncertainty of what lies ahead reconstruction wise.
  11. I know that you can use the tired old excuse of "our main aim was just to get out of Div 3 at first go" but nobody will convince me that there are no consequences for not doing it with any style. I think this may be a direct result of the very sub-standard fare we have been served up. I'm not suggesting for a minute that it's the only reason for a price freeze, but a price increase would sure as hell have been easier to swallow had we been entertaining.
  12. You have a point, although I thought his passing was terrible (he used his right foot like a 4 iron) which is why he ended up centre half. And it reminded me - so was John Brown versatile. Although I stand by my point that they are a very rare breed and we need a centre half than will win 90% of balls that come near him in the air. We bought Papac, Cribari, Sergio Porrini etc etc as centre half\ fullbacks.
  13. Really? CH or CF. Has anyone actually seen a big reliable solid centre half who doubles as a full back ? If they do then they are not the type of centre half we are looking for i.e. they lack physical strength. Mr Butcher would you mind playing left back today? Mr Roberts would you mind playing right back (although he does pretty well in goal with a pair of white gloves on)? I don't think so - chase him. We have had enough 'Jack of all trades - master of none' players. We now need players who know their position inside out.
  14. On a slightly different note - is there a strong possibility that we could see a 're-run of a bad movie'? Regradless of how keen Dave King is and how much effort he has put into preparations, will it come down to Charles Green (playing the role of you know who from the old movie) wanting to cherry pick who he sells his shares to i.e. not King?
  15. King probably?
  16. Lots of words - very little content.
  17. What a lift he would give the dressing room, and how refreshing it would be to see someone up front not giving defenders a seconds piece. We desparately need that example on the park at this time - it lifts others on the pitch and in the stands. And he will be very light on the budget. Where's the risk?
  18. Did a trace and ...... Wattie@rangers.co.uk ........didn't take a lot of working out.
  19. Hi Walter!
  20. What I find strange is that at his level you would normally have a PA who handles your corporate mail for you, unless of course you have a reason not to! Would be interesting (for me anyway, being a pedant) to know if others within the Club at his 'C' level do use a PA, and if so, why he chose not to, if that is the case.
  21. What's it got to do with Archie McPherson?
  22. I just hope you are right. I've always wanted Dave King there. Regardless of what you think of him he is one of the very few guys around who bleeds blue blood, has real cash, and is not out to shaft us. And as has been proven in the past, to the tune of £20m, he is not afraid to invest his cash in the Club. Also he is extremely trusted within the Club. He was also the first man on the scene back in Feb 2012 to see what the hell was going on (link below) . He has patiently and dilligently waited his chance, and hasn't wasted his time while waiting. His legal bods have been plugging away at the SFA all the while trying to get him clearance as 'fit and proper' or whatever the hell they term it. So he is obviously very serious. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/rangers/9099276/Rangers-director-Dave-King-makes-Ibrox-visit-as-Ally-McCoist-talks-to-administrators.html
  23. All about opinions, and none are any more valid than any other. People are always more vocal when it comes to knocking things down than they are when it comes to building things (it takes more mettle to put your neck on the line). Now that we've kicked someone else to pieces (we seem to be good at that now) in this never ending saga lets see who will be next to walk the plank.
  24. I'm sorry the man has gone - I actually feel a bit embarassed that it has been handled this way. As you say I've no doubt he did what he had to do with Whyte, just to get it over the line. But I was always pretty sure that there was no real big skeleton in the cupboard waiting to de-rail Rangers' progress. There will always be stories about our Club around every corner, especially over the next 3 or 4 years until we are back where we belong. However I'm concerned that if we continue to have 'drama queen' knee-jerk reactions every time then we are in for a bumpy ride. I for one loved the fact that he stood our corner, and if you took a swipe at us then be prepared to be wiping a bloody nose of your own in the process. It's what rallied The People back around the cause again. I fear that too many people have taken that for granted. Look at the age of a lot of our support at the moment - some real young guys in there who love to rally around a leader, especially a fighter. As was said earlier 'be careful what you wish for', especially when season ticket sales renewals come around. I personally think for all his flaws, and he had a few, his charasmatic leadership and 'No Surrender' spirit reached further than many give him credit for - time will tell. I personally feel deflated today and I'm no spring chicken.
