  1. This has to be one of the most frustrating posts that regularly get posted on forums. Where were your complaints about Dave King' the gangster' when he gave the Club £20m? Where were your complaints about Dave King pre Craig Whyte? Do you have any idea how long he has been associated with the Club and how long his SARS issues have been rumbling? Why is he a gangster now i.e. since it became fashionable to talk 'corporate' on football forums? I've no idea your age - but my experience is that most anti- Dave King posters haven't got a clue about how long he has been with the Club because they are too young to know. And they love the new 'corporate scandal' side of being a Rangers fan. They think he has only been around the Club in recent times. e.g. Whyte, Green. Easy for them to find stuff on Google about King and SARS. Not so easy to find on Google that Dave King has been far more of a Rangers Man than lots of them have ever been or ever will be. Reaper, tell us where you stood on Dave King, lets say 5 to 7 years ago for example. I'm interested.
  2. I know you dont want to change your browser, and neither did I, but I downloaded Firefox as well which I use for Gersnet, and continue to use IE for other things (although I'm starting to find Firefox more stable all round).
  3. I've also had a problem over the last couple of days with a box coming up saying a script is trying to run that will slow down my browser. I'm accessing on IE8 which I can't upgrade as the laptop I'm using in 'locked down'. Had no problems until recently.
  4. I'm still slightly confused by the 'Day of Reckoning' finale in the interview. Something in me thinks of the old adage 'empty barrels make the most noise'. It is well known as was stated in the interview that we have a number of foes. So is it going to be a 'night of the long knives' and we take them all out in a single orchestrated swoop? Will we hunt them all down one at a time? Will we go after them all or go after a 'big fish'? I want to believe it and I have little moments where I let my heart rule my head. Then I think Sam Giancana would struggle to organise such a 'Day of Reckoning' and I start thinking of empty barrels again. But hey it sounded defiant (and both guys did their bit to sound convincing). It would be nice to think that at least one of our detractors will wake up with a 'horses head in the bed' some day.
  5. Aw well - personal preference and all that. If Ally delivers in the way Fergie did........
  6. I mentioned before after seeing a photo of Ally and KMcD together. Ally looks likes he is hammering the bottle. I'm not criticising - there but for the grace of God and all that, but it's not good to see in a Rangers manager if he is going to look like that for too long. Unshaven and looking like his blood pressure needs checked - soon!
  7. Maybe it's all to do with the expectation levels you go in with, but I didn't find it all that bad to be honest (not half as bad as I thought it would be) but I had no big expectations. It's all about opinions, but I actually felt that the most contrived bit was the 'Day of Reckoning' finale when Ally almost giggles, whereas others think that was the only bit worth watching. JT laboured the point about so called Rangers men doing the most damage. Who would that be? Lets put it this way - if there is a part 2 I will watch it. And to be fair, some of JTs questions are the ones we wanted to ask (even if the answers were not what we wanted to hear at all times)
  8. Don't get me wrong I'm really looking forward to it, but dislike the cheesey build up.
  9. There's hope yet Amms. I think it's the first time I've felt that the Galveston Giant wasn't about to aim his famous jab at me straight out of your avatar in support of your displeasure at my posts. I appreciate your comment (and sense of humour )
  10. It's the "no holds barred" comment that is just plain drivel and stupid. Of course there are 'holds barred'! Who would benefit at The Club from either one of them coming out of it having lost all credibility. It aint going to be Frost v Nixon. So lose the drama please. Words like 'strong, frank, controversial, etc' would be more apt and believable.
  11. "In a no holds barred, and sometimes heated sit-down" One thing I despise is someone trying to take me for a mug. Yes this may be an interesting interview but save us the build up please like some WWF match. "Here's what I'm going to ask you Ally. We have to make this look real 'cos this Rangers TV thing is what I've been brought in to get off the ground. This internet thing is all the rage now, although personally I don't think it will catch on. But anyway you have to look like I'm hitting you OK?" "Aye OK Jim but I'm the fans pin-up so I have to come back at you and win a submission otherwise my fans wont come back, Deal?" "Deal!" "Let's get ready to rumble!!!!!!!!" Just do the interview and let us decide how hard hitting it is FFS.
  12. A few of the 'jobs for the boys' comments aimed at Ally have been based on the East Kilbride connection with Jim Sinclair and Jim Hendry. However Jim Sinclair has been there since 2006 and at the time, regardless of what you think of him now, he was highly sought after and highly regarded. He was a name that everyone knew of that generation growing up in EK beacuse of his football skills (one of these enigmas that never really made it in the senior game despite his oustanding ability). It was no surprise to anyone he ended up coaching younger players. Ally will trust 'Siggy' from his years in EK and obviously rates him very highly too. Jim Hendry is another one that Ally rates very much (again knowing him from EK) and probably has wished for some time that he could get him on board knowing he was top notch and a bluenose to boot, but Martin O'Neill stood in his way as he got there first. I can tell you that Larrsson often sought private training sessions with him he rated him so highly. Jim was notorious in EK for someone who took no prisoners in life e.g. when he was a bouncer. Fortunately he matured and channelled it properly. His profession became life consuming for him which is why I reckon he is one of the best in the business and I think he may yet prove to be our best signing of the summer. There will be no prima donnas in our side slacking at training. We've been crying out for that and we've got it. Point I'm making is that, yes, it helps that they came from EK, but purely because Ally knew of them and trusts them accordingly. If they weren't there based on their ability they wouldn't be anywhere near the place. And I'm not Ally's biggest fan as a manager so I don't say it to stick up for him.
  13. Oh they will!!! I know I'm repeating myself but I'm delighted by this. It shows we mean business in making sure the players are fit. Ally knows Jim very well and knows that they players won't get away with slacking under him - and Jim is one of the best in the business.
  14. O'Neill took him to Breezeblock Boulevard in the 99/00 season and he left in 10/06. O'Neill took him everywhere. Mark my words he is no Tim though. He is a total fitness professional. He was Rangers daft as a boy in EK and he will be delighted to be at Ibrox but he will still be the total professional. It's a brilliant signing as I will categorically guarantee that he will take no prisoners and he will get them fit. He's not to be messed with (I'm told that even Balde was wary of 'Big Ecks').
  15. Jim 'Big Ecks' Hendry was with Celtic for years after Martin O'Neill came. He was there at the time of Larrsson, Balde etc. I know because I used to rib him about it (grew up with him) because he used to go to the Gers games when he was young. You wouldn't want to give him a hard time though - he's an absolute animal when he wants to be. He used to be a bouncer and I can tell you nobody messed with him twice. Built like a brick shit house.
  16. (Kissenger + diplomacy?) Ok cool.
  17. Since Walter took the seat the silence has been pretty deafening. I'm not saying he's the answer but he appears to have plugged a leak (for now) to the point where nothing is coming out, not even rumour.
  18. Trust in Allah. But tie up your camel just in case. - Confucius 502 BC
  19. I'm always a bit perplexed when his name is touted as a voice of reason and diplomacy. Great player (and decent manager) that he was he has done nothing to show me that he has leader qualities in an overseeing capacity. He can be as erratic as the worst of them (as the Bairds Bar press conference debacle showed). He's no Kissinger!!
  20. Not any more I'm not mate. That Geordie accent ended up doing my head.
  21. The things I felt badly lacking last season were (1) an offensive midfield with creativity, (2) a strong, mobile and pacey defence. No (1) may see an improvement, but (2) has very worryingly for me not been addressed at all (unless Daly is in defence, which would only cover the 'strength' element). Is it just me, but in those Willie Vass training pictures I thought Ally looked more ready for the grubber than the fresh smell of battle fever? He looks like he's been on a bender for quite a while.
  22. Maybe none of my business, and I'm genuinely not taking sides, but I don't recall many of them from DB to be fair.
  23. I agree. I don't believe as a Club we handled the TUPE thing very well at all, and that is what Fraser Wishart, who as the players union rep and someone who generally sticks up for us, has stated. However as you say, when you are about to be offered TUPE it's in your court also. You have a responsibility to play your part. But i still don't think the Club will have a case against them.
  24. Is it just me letting my imagination run riot, but didn't the press leaks escalate rather than lessen after his arrival? I'm not suggesting that he was 'the mole' but I (naively) thought when he came the press would get what we wanted them to get, and not much more. I can't see him being there longer than a couple of months more, and I think he will leave these shores (to join Darryl King?) as there is no safe haven for him after us. He will be hated.
  25. Maybe it's a sign of the times?
