  1. I've also been advised that there is no truth in the rumour that he was headhunted because of the constant references that a Blin man could see what was wrong within the corridors of power at Ibrox.
  2. I'm not normally into using the tired old 'I've heard from a very good source' cliche but ex-PWC executive Blin is apparently very confident he will be in place pretty soon. And from sources within PWC I've been advised that he would be a very good man to have around the place. Only passing on what I've been told. I'm not in any way pretending to know what is going on or taking any side for what its worth.
  3. Former Rangers chief executive Charles Green has been appointed as a consultant to the club. The man whose consortium bought Rangersâ?? assets in a £5.5m deal last summer stood down from his role earlier this year. In a statement to the London Stock Exchange on Friday, Rangers confirmed the return of Mr Green to a role with the club. It read: "The board of Rangers is pleased to announce that it has today appointed Charles Green as a consultant to the company. "Mr Green's role will be to promote the interests of Rangers Football Club, specifically assisting with shareholder relations and advising the company on its capital structure."
  4. Very glad to have been proved wrong about Leggo on this occasion and very glad to hear those two little scrotums Delahunt and Walker will be forced to rethink their agenda.
  5. Is it just me or does Jig bear a very close resemblance to Hannibal Lecter in that photo? "I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti ffffffffff"
  6. There is no over-reaction on my part at all. "It was only a friendly" is a fair enough excuse if it is at the beginning of the close season. If it is just before your campaign kicks off it's a lame excuse used by managers (and some fans!) to paper over the fact that the team is not ready to hit the ground running when the real stuff starts e.g. if we get an unfavourable cup draw. Friendlies at this stage of the season should be about playing your strongest side available, with the formation you intend to use, so that the transition into the real games is seamless. To think otherwise is wrong. Plain wrong IMHO. "Do you think Newcastle fans will take much notice if we beat them on Tuesday?". The fans might not but the manager sure will. Newcastle are the perfect example of what I've stated above. Pardew has, in his last couple of friendlies fielded very strong sides who have put in very strong performances. That is for the reason stated above i.e. he wants them hitting the ground running when the season kicks off. Why did this thread start? Pardew intends to field his strongest side. Do Newcastle care about their performance? - Absolutely they do. Was our intention to be close to our finished article by the time the season has started? - Absolutely it was. Are we being deluded by still playing our "it's only a friendly" joker card this close to the season kick off? - Absloutely IMHO
  7. It wouldn't surprise me if Leggo is crossing all his fingers that his latest 'exclusive' is too?
  8. I remember it like it was yesterday - 1980. He ran them ragged that day and scored 2. Very sad indeed. Late 50s? Was Tom (who played for Celtic around the same time) his older or younger brother?
  9. I think I can. And it is not based on one friendly. It is based on the step up from a dross 3rd divison team on Sunday to a newly relegated SPL side in Dundee, along with the fact that we created next to nothing in all other friendlies. Are we honestly still saying we are a seriously weakened side without Jig? Also I would argue we are a stronger side without Black. If we had Wallace and Macleod how different would our tactics have been? Dundee ran us absolutley ragged in the first half. Forget the score - did you see it? It wasn't the personnel - it was the formation and tactics. If we are in trouble whenever we lose Wallace and Macleod then by God why have we been bringing in all the players we have? I really hate to say it but if we get drawn at Breezeblock Boulevard in one of the cups it will be 'Dont Watch Alone'. Barring one or two sides in the SPL e.g. Hibs, I wouldn't fancy our chances one bit against the others.
  10. I think Dundee showed us how far we've really come, and it's not very far at all.
  11. Nail on the head. I will bet they have far more common ground than uncommon. That's what I mean by the ego. They fact that they are often willing to fore-go the greater good in favour of their own vanity (Leggo is the worst culprit).
  12. Desperately trying to pump some helium into a couple of ego balloons that have been popped a few times recently.
  13. Agree, but the point I'm making is that 'The Rangers Man associated with another club' is Leggos usual bullshit. When he has a name he is not slow in giving it, He knows as much as you and I and I mean that!
  14. Leggo is a blowhard. He's not shy about naming names when he has them. Just like his 'insiders' who told him Whyte was the real deal, and then Green was the real deal, and that neither was the real deal, that Walter is now the only real deal. Twat!
  15. Funnily enough regurgitating the exact same 'patter' he used when he didn't like him at first, before he liked him, then didn't like him again, if you know what I mean
  16. So is sniffing glue and given the choice of that or listening to Leggo................
  17. If Leggo is anything to go by it's Agnes the St Johnstone tea lady!
  18. Wait a minute - this is the same Leggo who hailed Whyte from the roof tops? He also tried to tell us repeatedly we had it all wrong. He had "inside information" that Whyte would come good. Bollocks! He then told us Green was an imposter, then lo and behold he had absolute insider information that Green was in actual fact the second coming, landing smack bang in the middle of Ibrox. Hail Green - the true defender of The People. I contacted him at the time with a list of all his 'facts' about Whyte being our saviour and asked why he thinks he should still have credibility knowing that it was all bollocks. His response was "I was duped liked many others. I wont make that mistake again. Green is the real deal. Nobody will mess with our Club again". I haven't read any of his guff since. And today I find it absolutely astonishing that he has since turned on Green. Unbelievable twat! What a complete fucking chancer. More faces than the town clock!
  19. I don't feel the need to discuss further on another thread or this one. We both have different ways of viewing the situation which is fine, and I don't want to sabotage a football discussion. My point was purely 'how far do you take these ethics' albeit that, like you, I don't believe he is very ethical? But, happy to leave it there.
  20. You completely missed my point. Like my son, they weren't forced into it like kids in real sweatshops. They are told their T&Cs before they sign up for it. I don't agree with the T&Cs but there are other jobs out there (unlike real sweatshop kids). You also didn't take up my point about the manufacturing of sportswear. How far do you take your ethics - as admirable as they are (and that is not sarcasm)?
  21. Sorry mate, but this isn't Indonesian sweat shops we are talking about here. The people who go to work for SD know what their terms and conditions are before they sign up (as my son did before refusing to work for them). Huge numbers of the football kits probably are manufactured in [not so] glorified sweatshops so how far do you take this? Do you refuse to accept anyone who has any connections in the merchandising of sportswear?? Lets not even begin to talk about the workers in Sports Direct in the same breath as kids in real sweatshops, because it is just plain nonsense.
  22. Who is the fat guy in the black shell suit) that runs for the hills right past the camera (and is probably still running)? Is that Ally?
  23. Aw - classic. I didn't even notice that. If he moves like that this season we will be fine for left sided cover.
  24. My tongue was firmly in cheek DB when I typed that I would have shit a brick. Just watch big Jig. He looks likes he's waiting for a ball coming out of the air.
