  2. I know what you are saying, and I'm probably being a hypocrite because I may have done the same, but I just wish he hadn't used it as an excuse for Rangers being knocked out of the cup by Forfar. I would have respected him a bit more had he shouldered responsibility for his part in it.
  3. The difference between the two? I will bet 100% the Forfar fans know how their manager likes his team set up and what their game plan is. This is the first time in 40 and more years of watching Rangers that I have no clue of what our preferred game plan or formation is, and how long has Ally been in charge. I played football for a long number of years (not at a high level) so I can usually see with my own eyes, but it changes from week to week. For a Club of our stature that frightens me, considering we have had the same three guys at the sidelines for how long? Can anyone tell me what our playing formation and philosophy is - seriously?
  4. Amms, I'm all for Ally standing up for himself and I was proud of him when he did it with Lennon and his defiant speeches of recent. However regardless of whether it was said in a rant or in a calm manner (he is good at 'looking' calm) something in me thinks it was delivered from a place of anger with a lot of things e.g. the result, the team, himself (?). What I mean is that I don't think he would have delivered that speech had we won 6-0 (although I could well be wrong). I didn't like the fact he used it as an excuse for a doing from Forfar. If the mhanks were laughing at us before then that speech certainly didn't leave them short of ammo. It felt like 'washing dirty linen in public' although I will add that from what I've heard about Green's comments then he certainly started the ball rolling, and he should have kept his gob shut. Maybe I'm too old school in my ways but I prefer the public fighting and defiance to be kept for our detractors, and our domestics to be kept private. Granted that might not be an easy option in these times.
  5. Blinkyman (or is it Blinkered Man?) - are you for real? McCoist and Durrant both said "give us a close season with the team, which we didn't have last season and we will have them playing. No excuses." Well boys? You then go on to negate your own point (of why the result is not down to Ally) by citing umpteen errors of judgement that he has made. I'm not anti-McCoist. I'm against watching our Club look as if it's on its last legs on and off the park. McCoist, Durrant and McDowall don't inspire the players - full stop. They don't inspire me to be honest. They look like an advert for how not to live your life. I'm not being bitchy by saying that. They should be leading by example. They have brought in Jim Henry to show the players he wont tolerate lack of fitness. Yet they must look at the three amigos and think "why don't you three make an effort to represent this Club the right way?". We have young players who are hungry to play but the hunger is missing. Why is that we must ask? Young players don't give a flying fuck what is going on in the boardroom if the mood is right on the training ground and they are being lead properly. I'm grabbing a name out of the air here - but let's say you brought in a manager who knew how to get players to play for him, e.g. Gus Poyet (not that it would happen but just an example of someone currently out of a job) and an assistant who knew the Club e.g. Artur Numan (who incidentally had the Dutch under 21s running like a well oiled machine, beating all in their wake), I will bet my house on the fact that the players on the park would up their game tenfold regardless of what was happening in the boardroom.
  6. You a Dan Brown fan?
  7. Which is when I think we will see the emergence of Dave King, who lets not forget could easily match, in one swoop, what we achieved in the flotation. DK will not want his money used to pay people off etc. He will want it to go to the Club as he has stated previously. The "where is Dave King?" question won't be lost on the (excellent) author of the above article. After all it was Mr Wilson who did the exclusive interview with King only a few weeks ago, and Richard Wilson knows the 'players' on the Rangers boardroom struggle chessboard better than most.
  8. Hate to say "I told you so" after all the "it's only a friendly" quotes, but......., and league yes, but cups, including the Ramsdens, not a hope in hell.
  9. I know there are a multitude of ways to win a football game, but I wasn't aware it was the same for the 100 metres sprint. I'm obviously ignorant as well. Can you enlighten me on that one?
  10. Honestly I could fucking cry at the "you don't know what Ally has had to work with" complete and utter bollocks. Lets just say Ally is having pins stuck in his eyes on a Monday and Tuesday. And then the poor soul is having his nose hairs tugged on a Wednesday. But then he is let loose on the training field for the rest of the week. He would have time for a game plan, favoured formation, and football philosophy? No? Can anyone tell me another manager in history who has been in the job as long as him and we have still no clue what his views are on ANY of these questions? Do we play a pressing game? High front line? Flat back four? Sweeper? Wingers? Player in the hole in front of one striker? Two strikers? Zonal marking? 11 defending corners in the lowest tier of our country's game is probably the only one we know. C'mon guys wake up. He is sending us backwards at high speed. 3 years to nurture an ethos with the right manager, yet we are going to end up back in the PL needing to spend millions to compete. FFS (I think I will just cry).
  11. I think Liewell would get rid of Lennon without hesitation should the need arise. There would not be the 'fan backlash' that people think there would be if McCoist got bumped. Who does Ally play up to? The 'young team' in the corner who average 18 years old if they are lucky (and that is not to slag the boys off). These young guys have never really known many true legends in their time supporting the Club, which is why McCoist to them is God. Ally knows with their vocal backing it makes his position a wee bit stronger. The mainstream [older] punters have seen many 'legends' go and still watch the Club survive. Ours is a 'tired' Club at the moment. We should be rising from the ashes looking vibrant and hungry. I'm watching McCoist, Durrant, McDowall and I feel worn out just looking at them. Rangers Football Club needs fresh blood from top to bottom. Can anyone on here say what formation our team plays, what our football philosophy is? Ally told us "give me a close season" to get that team ethos sorted. I'm sorry but your time is up as far as I'm concerned. And the fact that neither you nor your other two cohorts could be arsed to represent this great Club in the way it should be speaks volumes to me. Show me any club around Europe where all of their lead staff look like they've been on an over-eating and over-drinking bender for about 3 months.
  12. McCoist is a very clever guy (apart from managing a team). I know his close circle well (quite a few box holders at Breezeblock Boulevard e.g. the Keans) and I know the pelters he would take about "we don't do walking away". They may be mates but when it comes to football they won't hand him sympathy. I have the feeling he knows exactly what he has said today, and I've a funny feeling he may be 'buying his own ticket' knowing full well if CG gets any control back he was a 'gonner' anyway.
  13. I am willing to bet, as the title says. It is that bad. I watched the abuse John Greig got as a manager. Yes we were poor domestically but we had beaten Juventus and PSV in Eindhoven (first team to do it at the Phillips arena if memory serves me right), but he got absolutely hounded. I've watched Davie Whyte get booted out when we were top of the league. I never thought I would see us put up with this dross for so long under any manager. For every excuse his supporters allow him there is an even heavier mitigating counter-arguement that we are playing teams we should beat 99% of the team regardless. Yet cup after cup (even the Ramsdens) we get knocked out with abysmal low par dross performances. Please go Ally, please!
  14. I've got a funny feeling his "we don't do walking away" statement will cause him some awkward moments. As far as I'm concerned it's time (way past to be honest).
  15. King doesn't use 'outlets' to do his speaking. He does interviews up front, so I disagree with you on that score.
  16. BT have blacked out First Row streaming.
  17. One name that has been noticeable by its absence over the last couple of days is that of Dave King. It would be a fool to think he has walked away from all of this - no chance. He has admitted recently he has invested a lot of his time in positioning himself! So applying basic logic would leave 2 (or 3 depending on how you look at it) possible scenarios. He is either waiting in the wings with a 'consortium' of his own (unlikely!) or he will come out in support of one of the two factions i.e. the current board or the McColl, Blin & Murray team. I've got completely lost with who supports who any more, but from memory King would not get 'into bed' with the current board. Does he have any 'bad blood' with McColl or Murray? I've just got the sneaking suspicion that if the McColl lead 'coup' looks like succeeding King will emerge as a real key player. If it doesn't look like succeeding then we may not hear of him at all. One thing if for sure he might be below the surface at the moment but he will emerge at some point for sure given the right circumstances. I'm no expert in who supports who now so if anyone has any info to suggest different then I'm glad to be corrected.
  18. Personally I would feel extremely confident about the future of our Club with McColl at the helm. One concern I have after seeing this morning's papers through is that McColl's past track record has seen him dive for cover whenever his involvement is made public e.g. he was underwriting the original supporters' bid before his cover was blown, and he declared all bets were off because his cover had been blown. I hope it's different this time.
  19. Just as well 'cos this lightweight is going to his scratcher. P.S. you are talking shite :cheers:
  20. I'm setting myself up as a target here but I always feel uncomfortable when I sense someone is being rounded on just for having a different view. Like STB I actually saw some sides to Green that I could take to. I also began to see the disruptive side he could have at times. But like STB I've never seen him as a messenger of Lucifer himself. I tend not to read through all the threads these days as I crave the days when they will read 'football' rather than corporate conspiracy theories. I will put my hands up if I'm wrong and I've missed something but has Green been found guilty of anything that bad yet? I'm not taking any sides here but surely STB is entitled to have a view that he likes Green without it making him an outcast rather than a good Rangers Man. As a support we are too quick to 'throw the baby out with the dirty bath water' these days. OK let loose (my son tells me I'm turning into an old tree hugger these days for wanting peace).
  21. Blin will not be putting any cash in. His business acumen is what is bringing him to the table.
  22. Would be a swell addition to the roster though.
