  1. Thanks for the post Ian, but time to ignore the Jum the scrotum (and his organisation for the time being at least). Did we expect anything else?
  2. Like a dying fish on a boat - every now and then it thrashes around in an effort to survive.
  3. It was a personal opinion. Your comment in bold above seems a bit personal if you ask me. In fact your subsequent posts seem very personally vindictive against Chris for reasons that you are entitled to. However you don't support your comments with much evidence so far, yet (very hard to tell from the typed word) he seems to get your 'shackles up' in a big way. I stand by my comments. He's a Rangers man and is entitled to have strong opinions, but when faced with our detractors on a public stage he does us proud IMHO.
  4. Purely a personal thing - but I think it would. He is the first Rangers fan I've seen on live TV debates who comes across as an intellectual academic, with the ability to leave other 'psuedo' academics (e.g. often in corduroys) looking like clowns. He gets my vote. Intelligent and a real Rangers man.
  5. Which lyrics??
  6. If the players are doing what they are supposed to be doing on the park then there shouldn't be many rainbow coloured laces left after 10 mins. Anyone whose laces aren't turning a shitty brown colour should be asked what they've been doing all that time.
  7. That's a plastic surface again isn't it?
  8. Taken from another forum from yesterday; Jim McColl and Paul Murray invited various fans groups to meet with them, to discuss the ongoing situation with our Club. This meeting took place today, and Jim McColl confirmed that he and the requisitionists have not walked away, and that they remain committed to board room change. Mr McColl said: “If the board think this has gone away, they are delusional. The issue has merely moved to the AGM. The requisitionists still want change, and have not wavered from this final objective” The fans groups remain committed to liaising with Mr McColl and shareholders in the run up to the AGM. http://www.twitlonge.../show/n_1rme0vu
  9. He also ran for the hills when 'outed' as the underwriter for a fans takeover (seems like many years ago now. A sign of the tedium of this saga I think).
  10. He has previous for that. If he does it again I wouldn't let him near the place again after all this.
  11. Yes, if it is a Contact Centre they record voice calls (although I believe these days the caller must be advised that this is the case). They are quite often used in complaint cases where someone says they were given misinformation (or even abused by) a Contact Centre adviser. The manager will pull back the recording and listen to the whole conversation.
  12. This is what I meant by my earlier quote "Who exactly is this source? Maybe I'm looking into this too much, but when hounds are closing in on the scent of a runaway criminal, it's not unusual for the 'runner' to put the scent of an 'innocent kill' in the way".
  13. That orange and blue is quite fetching if you ask me Frankie
  14. OK I'm only an amateur in all this stuff so I may be way off the mark, but: "It has now emerged from sources at Scotland’s Crown Office & Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS)...." - Is this a leak from the department investigating leaks? The police about to investigate themselves? OK, call me a cynic, but........ Who exactly is this source? Maybe I'm looking into this too much, but when hounds are closing in on the scent of a runaway criminal, it's not unusual for the 'runner' to put the scent of an 'innocent kill' in the way.
  15. David Holmes wasn't a Rangers fan either - he was a Falkirk fan. Would Lawrence Marlborough be the last one?
  16. Why do I bother? I'm not talking about the names of the gangs (you doing it proves no point whatsoever). Tongs, Cumbie, Fleeto, Wee Men - who is impressed? Nobody! Nor does your talk of knives etc. It only backs up what I said in my post about gangs beating the shit out of each other. So your post at the end of the day boils down to crowd sizes, and your summation is that today's support are fantastic in comparison to the support of those days. Missed my point by a country mile. I remember going to matches where there were 7,000. I also remember going to matches where we could fill any stadium in the world when in mattered. What is your point about crowd sizes? 48,000 in Ibrox these days are only united by 4 walls. Completely divided mentally! What I meant was that back then I remember more togetherness as a support when being attacked by outsiders (maybe my memory is fluffed), and there was a recognition that we were Rangers Men together. I often go along to Ibrox these days and watch guys selling tickets way over the actual ticket price on big games. Can anybody remember what used to happen back then when someone tried to fleece fellow Rangers fans like that? I do and it wasn't pretty. I don't want to take over this thread with this argument so I'm happy to agree to disagree.
  17. What saddens me is that when we first went into administration etc we were united as a support, even if only briefly. We marched together, stood defiant together, created world records together. I think we all looked back (emotionally at times) to what brought us to be Rangers Men, and it gave us fire together. I rekindled some lovely memories of my dad, who has since passed, and me standing on the slopes of Ibrox, which I had previously suppressed because I missed him too much to re-visit. We should be standing together as Rangers Men. I will tell every young fan on this forum - in the 60s, 70s and 80s if this had been happening then Rangers fans would have stood together and brought the place to a standstill. When we went to the games back then rival gangs beat the shit out of each other in the Rangers end and outside, but when it came time for the fans to stand together - boy was it a different story! What have we got now? We are so fragmented because of this very thing I am using now i.e. Internet Forums. FF, RM, Vanguard whatever - what a load of modern day shite - I'm sorry. We shouldn't be waiting on a Traynor, trying to overthrow an Irvine etc. As a support we have the power to change things together, but I fear my longing for the united Rangers Men of the past is lost in this petty fragmented new world.
  18. Lol - you do realise I was having a bit of fun though?
  19. BH - Please tell me you didn't actually have to Google 'fud'? If you did you are a dobber! :flipa:
  20. Sky TV were showing the flag at Sheffield on the night in a positive light I believe. The family were alerted to it and it took off from there. When they asked for the flag I'm sure it was as a momento from what they took to be a lovely gesture, and that they would cherish it privately along with all of their other memories of the boy. I don't think they would even have envisaged that it would lead to a day at Ibrox with the flag making it's way round again. They appeared happy to do so.
  21. I think the original idea in Sheffield stemmed from the sense of disgust and embarassment at another of our country's support who had gone to Brentford only days before and an element of their 'fans' had sung despicable songs about the boy's murder. News of this disgusting act was gathering pace on the web etc. I believe this flag was produced to show (a) we should not all be tarred with the same brush up here, and (b) not only that, but we as a support (in general) support the armed forces and were appalled at the event, and the sickening behaviour of 'fellow countrymen (?)' who besmirched the boy's name. Whether you agree with it or not, I believe that was the motive behind it. The family found out about the flag in Sheffield, and contacted the Coatbridge Supporters Club to thank them on behalf of the family who were taken aback by the gesture. The family asked if they could have the flag, and the supporters club obliged. The family were then invited up to be presented with the flag, which if I'm not mistaken, was what happened on Saturday.
  22. I forgot about that. We used to hide beside the big door of the Milanda place and wait for the vans coming out. We would then jump on the big step on the back of the Milanda van and get a free ride to who knows where.
  23. I disagree that there has been an awful lot of talk over the last few years from DK. He has said a few things that have stoked the fire but I would say two or three a year at most. (It's a bit like the Trappist monk who takes a vow of silence, but is allowed to talk once a year. After the first year he asks to have his morning fried eggs changed to scrambled. After the second year he asks for a new pair of sandals as his are worn. After the third year he asks for a new toothbrush. On the fourth year he says he wants to quit - he has had enough. His father superior says "Thank God for that - you've done nothing but moan since you got here"). As for "put up or shut up" - surely the one person that should not apply to is King. He is the only one I can recall who 'put up' to the tune of £20m in proper 'green backs' which I can't remember anyone else doing without looking for a return.
