  1. This might be way off the mark, but what if you were trying to create a feeling of apathy among the voters, i.e. shareholder fans, by 'spinning' the impression that there was no point in turning up as it is a done deal? On another note - that BBC link is annoying me no end. Look at Easdale (or is it Harry Enfield?). What 'diehard' bluenose goes to Ibrox in a red scarf? Apart from the fact he is 'eyeing' the fans with such a disdainful snidey look on his face. Do you think it's a 'Sack The Board' scarf?
  2. Sorry mate but you've completely ignored umpteen responses last night as to why they couldn't (McColl)\wouldn't (King). It's just a bit annoying with the same conversations constantly and people ignoring valid responses.
  3. Anyone know the format of this for Thursday e.g. Will it be a full day of meetings with a vote at the end? How is the voting handled? Does it carry on after the votes are counted e.g. Q&A? How quickly are we likely to know - will it be Thursday? I have no idea how these things are formatted as you can gather.
  4. It was the Calderwood Loyal in EK that he passed them to. I'm sure the guys at the Calderwood Inn (just round the corner from where Ally grew up, and still regularly visits) would be first to shout if there was any inaccuracy in the story. Anyone on here from the Calderwood Loyal (or drink in the Calderwood Inn or Salmon Leap that could confirm?).
  5. For me, something has turned very wrong in today's game when a supporter (at the end of the day that is what he is, and it's not a pop at MD) gets this media publicity. It makes me quite sad.
  6. I disagree with the King part of your statement DB. Although King keeps a low profile in between his "broadsides" I don't think for a minute he has vanished. I think he is plugging away relentlessly behind the scenes (as he has been for a while) to find a solution to all of this that benefits the Club (but very importantly for him - a solution that doesn't involve spivs having their pockets lined in the process). King will not vanish - 100%.
  7. I'm not a member of the VB or any organisation but this has gone OTT. The VB have been actively trying to pursue who could be involved in the HMRC leaks etc. They had listed all sorts of potential suspects in various 'cases' including the two deceased. Crossing them off is no different to what a police investigation would do (ironically) when a deceased person was no longer a suspect. Granted no tears were shed by VB in doing so. This country is doing my fucking head in how far they are taking such trivial nonsense at the behest of the "offended".
  8. "Despite broad agreement on fans' concerns, Mr Kingsnorth indicated that Laxey were unlikely to change their already submitted and publicly stated vote." That, to me, is a helluva unyielding stance to take. Especially being so open and frank about it, unafraid of supporters' backlash. I get an uneasy feeling about such a rigid and public stance.
  9. Agreed - badly worded on my part. I should have said "add financial support to the Club" rather than "add financial support to the right people".
  10. I don't miss the build up. I used to do a bit of (organised) boxing (very badly I might add). The fear of losing up until the 'bout' was horrible and I always felt the same with OF games (on a slightly smaller scale). I have no qualms with any other religion but I detest that club and it got to me on the build up. Life was wonderful when we beat them, but very low when we lost. Even in victory though they managed to create some kind of 'side show' to persuade the press to deflect from our glory, and I detested them even more for that. Miss them? Like a dose of syphilis!!!
  11. No a dumb post, as a lot of people have made an assumption that he supports one side (although he probably trusts the McColl camp a bit more) He is very much his own man and has no real interest in being in one camp or other from what he says. He wants to put money into the Club he loves - full stop (as he has done before when £20m was worth far more than £20m these days). He will only do so when he is 100% sure that he is not lining anyone else's pocket i.e. he is sure there are no charlatans on the board. To take a side at this point would make him force himself into a corner i.e. I believe he will invest either way but only if\when there is stability, regardless of who that stability is with (as long as he trusts them).
  12. Maybe I've missed something, but I don't recall Dave King saying he wanted to be owner. From memory he has stated he wants to add financial support to the right people and has no interest in being the 'owner'. I stand to be corrected.
  13. Would have helped a great deal had people realised the red side should face the park!!
  14. I remember it very well. I also remember 'Oh the Pope's not a hippy, he's a hun"
  15. I was going to come back with a Benny Hill(esque) retort, but that would be so predictable Are you insinuating SPFL and dishonesty? Isn't that what's known as an oxymoron?
  16. That was getting squeeky bum time when those names kept coming out and neither us nor that mob had been drawn. I thought it was fated. I think Kenny Miller did too, as he was struggling to hold his laugh in.
  17. I know what you are saying, and I would say the approach has moved more in that direction. To be fair though, it started off 'anti current board' as there was nobody really credible on the board, and the financial side of things was showing no side of improving with only Stockbridge 'marking his own homework'. I believe McColl is being flexible and reasonable now, as all decent genuine negotiators have to be. He has stated that he is now more confident with 2 of the recent recruitments to the board, in that he feels they have good solid track records. However while Stockbridge is there a problem will always remain, in that his financial management is a danger and questionable to say the least. More importantly there is a clear danger that he could still be a 'runner' for Green. I can understand McColl turning his guns directly at Stockbridge now. As he said at the meeting 't's not them or us, there has to be room for compromise as long as the Club gets cleansed'.
  18. This can't possibly be true. Aren't we 'The Establishment'?
  19. I'll tell you what - I wouldn't mind being in a league with them right now. In fact I'd bite your hand off for it.
  20. Were you at the hotel in EK last Friday night GS? I ended up at the Albertz night in Blantyre, and I wished I had been in EK for the Walter Night (although big Jorg was class). Did you see the two boys, Stuart and Graham, getting presented with the framed picture of Walter in tribute to their dad Rab who collapsed and died on the EKFC training pitch the week before? That was a class gesture wasn't it? One of the boys sent a text absolutely thrilled to bits (as were the whole family).
  21. Spot on! And you can bet your bottom dollar you can replace "that" with "stating how I will vote at this stage". The press pack at their snidiest best. And they always get away with hiding behind the line "we write the articles but we have nothing to do with the headlines", but on this occasion it has clearly been edited as well. Low life that they are at times.
  22. Can anyone explain to the uneducated in these matters - (1) why has the acquisition of the extra shares by Laxey been deemed as an unexpected twist in the potential outcome? (2) Is it the perception that they have come from 'investors' that it was hoped would otherwise be persuaded by McColl etc? (3) Is it safe to assume that they haven't come from any camp that was already on the 'incumbents' side, or would that be visible if it were the case? It's genuine curiosity as I get lost sometimes.
  23. Define the difference between a 'nobody' and a 'somebody' will you? To me the guy is an intelligent bloke who always comes across well whenever I've seen him. He may not represent you but it doesn't make him a nobody. Unless of course your dislike for him goes deeper than that......? It's quite disappointing that Sky can have any number of bitter, twisted rhebels on there e.g. Lennon, Lawell, Provan etc, but that you would talk of wasting your Sky subscription at the thought of a fellow Rangers Man expressing his opinion.
  24. For the totally uneducated in these matters can anyone confirm if this statement sheds any more light (than was previously known) on the potential Easdales versus McColl & Co show of hands e.g. does it sway it in favour of the incumbents or is it still as unclear as ever?
  25. First time I've heard Murray speak. I was quite surprised. He's no shrinking violet is he?
