You've missed who is the monkey and who is the organ grinder methinks. Don't take up corporate business consultancy
-
With the business transactions he has done in his mother's name she could buy us multiple times over (and there was actually rumour while he was tied up with SARS that she may act as his proxy). And she is a season ticket holder.
-
I honestly believe that is small change to King. This is the guy once described to be the 'richest man in South Africa" by an SA judge. Hundreds of millions - at least I would say. One of his vineyards was reputed by be worth several millions alone.

Kieran Prior has thrown his weight behind Dave King
Anchorman replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
The tide turning King's way? And another very diplomatic olive branch held out to Mr Easdale in the process (to avoid Easdale looking like a complete liar). -
Quite happily bet you £100 to the charity of your\my choice that there will be nothing comes of any enquiry. They will continue to cover their 'debt' with £15m every time they get to the CL groups unchallenged domestically. Do you honestly think that if there was a big business plan about to appear after this magical 120 days, which would make investors want to put more money in, that we would take out a high interest loan of 1.5m to keep us going for another 2 months. C'mon Rab - you belong to the faction that dislikes King for some reason but can you tell me something positive about the current board without something negative about anyone else?
-
It's all relative. We are very weak and refusing offers of nourishment for some bizarre reason. We are telling our 'family' that we are not hungry yet we've just visited the 'soup kitchen' with a begging bowl.
-
I think he ticks all the boxes. He's also been around (as has his family who still have season tickets) our Club far longer than many of his detractors have been. He knows what makes the Club tick and he also knows what 'tic' is not acceptable.
-
I still get this horrible feeling that the digital world has developed a section of the (mostly young) Rangers support whose warped hatred of other factions within the Rangers support far outweighs what is best for the Club. And that as a result we will implode without one voice. I'm concerned about how fragmented today's support is. We all read every forum during the incumbents v McCollco and the main argument was around who has any money to invest. OK then lets find someone with real money to invest. Lo and behold it was never really about that. More interested in keeping up the in-fighting. Otherwise what would they do at night if everyone agreed??
-
As opposed to the streets of gold that the current lot are leading us to? Yes, I know nothing about what King's plans are, other than investing lots of money that we don't have, by means of a new share issue, and that he wants his money to go directly into the Club rather than line spivs' pockets. Also that he is planning to consult with leading investors next week to agree a plan hopefully. Whereas we know exactly what the current board's plans are - "give us your season ticket money and we promise all will be well, only we can't tell you how it will be so". What is this sh#t about "he got his £20m back"? Strange that when he told SDM that he was suing him for it , SDM didn't respond "you got it back, what are you talking about?". But lets pretend this conveniently timed 'spin' is true. What a shock - 'Investor Gives £20M And Gets It Back - Interpol Are Investigating!!'. The EBT line is scraping the barrel mate, but your deep rooted dislike for the guy, which is clouding your judgement, is coming to the fore.

When does Dave King ever offer anything other than financial assistance (under the right circumstances). Would Dave King fly from SA to meet the board to say "All the Best Guys"? When he came off the plane back then he announced that he was willing to give significant financial support. The board would have seen that interview. Would it not have been a bit strange for them to have then sat down and had a meeting without either of them discussing this 'significant financial support'? What did King come over for then? It's complete and utter lies by the board to suggest otherwise. Almost as far fetched as members of the current board saying they know nothing about Charles Green and wouldn't even know him if he walked in the room. Zip me up the back guys will you?
-
I thought that was an excellent well balanced interview. What pleased me about it was his almost conciliatory approach by saying that all he is actually looking for is transparency, and that he would still be happy to invest if the board were to be more transparent. The fact that he also says that fans holding back on season ticket purchase need not be an option if the board were to be more open. Interesting that he wants to run his ideas past the big investors first before coming to Scotland. His reception in London could be absolute key to his approach once he gets to Scotland. As for the 'Craig Whyte scaremongering' that has been mentioned in this thread I have to say - absolute nonsense!. He mentioned Craig Whyte in reference to past events. Jim White then pushed him on the question of whether he still thought Craig Whyte was still around, and his response was quite an emphatic No! The more I hear King the more I believe we need him around. I have 100% trust in the man as far as my Club, your Club and his Club is concerned.

You wonder why, and you wondered the time before that http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?62129-Dave-King-statement/page7 , and the time before that, and the time before that, and the time before that.... Change the record FFS Rab!!!!!

Pathetic is all I can say. They will be the first to slag off the quality once they buy the DVD (which they will). That is our support all over at the moment. We don't half love a good moan and something to criticise. Yes I know we have been through a hard time but remember the words of Mr Struth on how we will deal with those hard times when they "invariably come". "Tolerance and Sanity" I believe Mr Struth said. Not much of that in evidence in some of our support these days.- 39 replies

Why the hell would King attend any meeting they had 'summoned' him to, to explain his comments like some little kid being reprimanded? Like they have explained themselves to him every time he has asked - aye right! You can imagine Easdale No 1 trying to look intimidating, while pulling back wee Jack's lead (and nearly strangling him with his own studded collar). Mr Wallace would obviously play 'good cop'. Meanwhile Easdale No 2 is out in the car park letting Dave's tyres down, and putting 'Go by [McGill] bus' leaflets on his Daimler windscreen.

I thought that was excellent. I must confess to finding Richard Wilson a breath of fresh air when talking about Rangers.

Alex Thomson: Rangers into administration on Wednesday-Question....
Anchorman replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Could that be the key to this whole rumour? Toxic at the helm. "We could go into A2 without your ST money, and if we don't get your ST money then Dave King is responsible". I wonder. -

Surely if it was true, we would wait until 29 or 30 in front? Not 24. Can you imagine the lift it would give Dunfermline and the deflation in our players. We would probably start dropping our standards of high quality total football and end up being lucky to just scrape through games . Too risky . -

Would we go into A2 when we are 24 points in front and face a 25 point penalty, and we play Dunfermline next week? I'm not saying we wouldn't, but would it make sense? Admins don't happen overnight as we all know. It's all about timing, but I wouldn't get that timing, unless it's to say "we weren't manipulating the system, we put ourselves in danger of losing the title" (while at the same type being totally confident we would win through thanks to our obvious superior scintillating skills and total football ). But I think it is complete bollocks. Wallace would ruin his credibility for life after his comments of the last week or two. He would make Craig 'Little Googley Eyed Bastard' Whyte look like a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize for his handling of the 'Rangers Affair'. -

Do they elaborate on the reason for mistrust? Do they not consider contacting any of the guys who have taken part so far to ask if their mistrust is justified? Or am I being naive?????- 39 replies

I know. I just don't get it. If it was the Dhims, with a chance to promote themselves, the contributions would be coming out of their ears. It is pretty embarrassing. Come on guys. Any contribution will do. Did it get pulled from FF?- 39 replies
