I'm wondering if King's talks with Laxey (assuming he had some last week in London) didn't go all that well, considering one of the first things he has done when he came up to Glasgow was have a pop at the relationship between the board and Laxey. If he had held constructive talks with them I'm not sure he would have been as forthright with his views. Then again I could be letting my head run away with me!

I don't think 'unrest' will be the biggest issue for Ally's 'ability' to compete in the Championship next season.
-
Absolutely. Who ever goes in to these things playing their strongest hand at the first sitting? Whoever believes that King has gone it playing his one and only hand is being naive in the extreme methinks. Mr King is very adept at these 'negotiations'. I'm personally glad he didn't go in with all guns blazing, and an all or nothing approach. He has very clearly left himself a place at the negotiating table.

Hugh Keevins: Rangers star Ian Black may drive a Bentley but......

Pete, I apologise for my over the top reaction last night. I was in a stinking mood. It's no excuse but in the cold light of day I realise my response was very unfair. -

I'm not sure mate. Money wise maybe, but Keevins can't drive - honestly! He takes taxis everywhere. -

Take a chill pill buddy. How can you tell from the typed word what I meant from that? My taste in cars or what it says about him. Bottom line is - you can't. I've seen you do this a few times buddy. Get off your 'admin' high chair pal and stop being confrontational because you think you can. Oh and for the record - I will wager £100 for charity (bank details can be supplied on PM) that the car is NOT from the 80s or even the 90s. -

Please someone tell me Black doesn't actually drive a bright red Bentley??? Please! -
Couldn't make it today. Can anyone tell me how the blue card thing went? I caught a wee bit of the game on TV and I must say the crowd looked pretty sparse for the supposed gate of 47,000.

It was actually quite laughable that they did last time - forgetting that the back of the red card had 'Sack the Board' reasons all over it (and half of the fans held it with that side facing the front)

Rangers: Dave King flies in for shareholder talks
Anchorman replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I think with McCollco nobody could really guarantee they had genuine money to invest, especially with McColl saying he would not invest any personal wealth (that didn't go too well with many). The investors had no more confidence than the fans on that issue. We all know, including the investors, that King can walk the walk financially. It might be down to how much he tells investors he will commit to if required. If it is down to supporting a board with no game plan for raising real dosh to cover outgoings, or diluting shares on a financially supported Club with real potential for future growth, then it could make the difference. I hope. -
This makes me want to cry. Did you hear him last night on the radio? 30 plus shots on goal? I'd love to know what constitutes a 'shot' for those stats. Dominated Albion till our hearts content? Really? No really? They kept us exactly where they wanted us. Don't you get they gave us the territory knowing we would do nothing with it other than lump high balls at a 6'5" keeper? On any other day we might have got 4 or 5 goals. - Tell that to all the fans sitting around me who were screaming blue murder that we could play all night and never score. I give up.

He's had his arse kicked! That is not what he said on radio last night.

Did you hear the interview last night or are you going by the newspaper article? I know it's my own fault for listening to that station, but I thought his attitude came across as anything but humble. When he was saying '"what more do they want" I felt he was biting his tongue. He actually came across like he wanted to tell us to shut the fuck up. He basically came across as stating that the players feel they've done their job if they just get us over the line, and that entertainment is not really on their radar. Also that we should be thankful.

This is what he said last night on the radio.I heard it as I nearly crashed. "I'm tired - my legs are sore. It was tough going out there". "We did really well out there. It was only in the last third that we didn't really get going". "No embarrassment. Look at the possession stats". "We were given a job to do by the manager which was to win the league. That is what we have delivered. We don't care how we achieve it. What more do they [fans] want?"

I must have been at a different game. A few long passes sprayed wide was about the total of his contribution. He thinks he is a player. Not one penetrating pass [or attempt at one] in the game. He is a complete imposter in my eyes.

I nearly crashed the car. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt but now I've made my mind up. What more do they [fans] want?" The bit in bold was said with a little shitty attitude. Mr Black - you are not Rangers class, and I personally now want to see the back of you. Your attitude disgusted me.

"When does it become okay to add Ally besides the board in cleansing the club?" A while back back mate, but better late than never!
-
We deserved to be mocked today. I could have cried sitting in that stadium today - it was so bad. The 'goal' we got was the only way we were going to score even if we were still playing. The players look like they don't want to be there. IF we get past Albion Rovers, Dundee Utd will utterly destroy us. 100% guaranteed. We are completely devoid of shape, structure, ideas, flexibility.

I have seen many managers at the Rangers helm in my time, and I've heard disgruntlement many times, but today fluctuated between a level of anger and bemusement towards our manager that I haven't seen for many a year. The noise when he put Mohsni up front was bizarre (and please don't say it paid off. The big man charging the keeper wasn't down to any tactical genius) - just utter bewilderment. I didn't hear any voices of support for the manager around me. It's time now Ally - do yourself a favour mate. Take the other two with you as the 3 of you are costing us 1.2 million pounds per year. Please allow our Club to bleed new life through its veins, we are in urgent need of a transplant.

It's all good and well being accurate but when it's only accuracy from one angle then it is imbalanced and bitter. Richard Wilson has written many an article praising what King brings to the table without the repetitive hatchet job done on him. [How many times do we need to read the same regurgitated stuff about King and his court case in SA before it could almost be false advertising to call it a newspaper?]. Take the comment - "And yet, in the hours between putting in a day's work and putting the kids to bed, the fans can find better deals than he can?". That is one of the most pathetic and inaccurate comments I have seen from a 'journalist' in a long time. King isn't trying to broker deals to get people to put more money in. Mr English - Dave King is sitting with the readies in the bank you muppet. He wants an opportunity to hand said readies over under the right circumstances. He is going to investors for support for his plan. Are the fans able to get that before him - No!!. You would almost think Mr English was trying to turn fans against King for some reason. Hmmmmm? -
I can kind of get where you are coming from Ian. Just look at the Blue Bear Rises film fundraiser. A chance to promote our support and our Club in a film that will be around forever. All they ask is that you pay £10 or £15 up front for a DVD and the funds will go towards the archive footage to make it a better quality film, and we get the grand total of 8 people contributing - pathetic! And one of the things that is said is that nobody has any money at this time of the year etc. But I will guarantee this sells out and people will spend around £40 to £50 in total including tickets. I'm not arguing it won't be a good night, and I've nothing against it whatsoever. I just wish we could see the bigger picture at times.
