As a support we have an obligation to take the power into our own hands, otherwise we are as guilty as he is of dereliction of duty. So far he is only under pressure from faceless internet posters and radio phone in callers, and some journalists. That is counteracted by his mates in the game who say "its all the players fault". He needs to see the whites of the eyes of the fans saying 'ENOUGH!' He will walk if that happens - guaranteed! It's horrible to have to do that, but needs must. John Greig was too proud a man to stay when the fans stood outside the main stand protesting against him. And this was a man whose team had knocked out Juventus (with 8 players who made up the Italian national team) and were the first team to beat PSV in the Phillips stadium. We can change this but not from a laptop.

The reality is that The Scotsman know jack shit the same as the rest of us. It is the logical statement to make based on a 'predictable' world, which it isn't. If Ashley felt tomorrow that he wanted to speculate to accumulate by coughing up what it took to remove The Invincibles with the prospect that gate receipts would increase dramatically etc, he could do it at the drop of a hat.

I'm not sure what the 'irony' comment means. I think you still think I have a leaning towards one 'side' or another. I don't. You are a fellow Rangers Man in my view - I don't see you as a particular faction Rangers Man. I'm happy to agree to disagree.
-
(1) Depends how you read the post. I read it as a really nice top at good value, so I would buy one. You read it as 'RST activity......RST wares'. Your prerogative, but as I have no leanings to RST or any other faction, I just see a top I want to buy. You could have just ignored it if you don't want one. When you walk past a Celtic shop advertising to passers by do you feel the need to shout in 'not for me mate'? (2) You are absolutely entitled to your opinion mate. I can honestly say it wasn't a go at you. I'm just getting fed up on here now with the lack of threads I want to stay on as they go off on a direction I don't want to take. I didn't grow up in an era where there were factions of this kind, and I find it petty and divisive. Purely my opinion. (3) If I am a Rangers man? I'll ignore that as it is a wee bit snide. Here you are again with the petty faction stuff. You make an assumption that because I'm buying an "RST" top (just a very nice top in my eyes) that I don't buy official Rangers kit. It weakens your argument mate cos you have no idea. I honestly have no problem with other people airing views, but I just feel your comment was purely just not needed in this case. I've seen umpteen threads where the different factions argue their case, so keep it for them. (4) Don't care in the slightest. A very smart top for my fives for £32 - good deal. (5) Yes I've no doubt you are a Rangers man, but not 'full stop' i.e. regardless, if you have such disdain for another section of Rangers Men who have a different view from you.
-
Sorry mate but I find this ridiculously petty. It's not just aimed at you. It's the whole petty faction thing. If you don't want the shirt it's easier if you don't comment - just don't buy it. It's strange that the money is going to people who are interested in Rangers, BUT they are not 'your' chosen faction, so that rules you out even if you happened to love the top (lets just say you like the top for the sake of my point). Let me ask you something - when you go into a shop and see a top you like, do you ask them where the money is going before you buy it or do you buy it because you like the top? Everyone who buys the blue top can buy it without a care where the money goes to, if they so wish, because they are getting value for their money i.e. a nice top. It's not purely a contribution\support for RST. I honestly can't get your point and it saddens me when this faction v faction crap is brought on here. I'm a Rangers Man - full stop!
-
It's a belter. I don't normally wear football tops but I look forward to wearing this one in the hope that it will revitalise my aging 5 a side career.
-
No shit Rab. Only you could find a way to use a thread about today's attendance to regurgitate the same pish again about King. FFS give it a rest!

Of course, but like many things we 'enjoy' in life - they can have harmful side effects, and we have to take stock and decide whether the 'enjoyment' outweighs the risk\harm.- 50 replies

" As we won't be attending as a group, it will make it impossible for us to pull off a display. We would therefore ask all Rangers fans to do their bit by making our end as colourful as possible, with flags, banners, streamers and anything else they can." Patronising load of bollocks. Thanks for the advice guys but theme days were being done just fine way before you were even a wee twinkle in your mammie's eyes.- 50 replies

http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/colin-duncan-fares-not-fair-4697316 "THE widespread condemnation which followed Wigan chairman Dave Whelan’s alleged racist and anti-Semitic outburst last week was understandable. His Alf Garnett-esque comments in the wake of appointing Malky Mackay manager added to the outrage . Mackay is subject to an FA probe, investigating texts and emails of a racist, sexist and homophobic nature. The anti-discriminatory bodies didn’t miss Whelan who could now find himself in the dock alongside his manager. Football Against Racism in Europe were among the many campaign groups who, quite rightly, took the pair to task. Yet where was the outcry from bodies such as FARE when this month Aleksandar Tonev was hit with a seven-game ban by the SFA for racist conduct? The Celtic midfielder was found guilty by an independent tribunal of abusing Aberdeen’s Shay Logan, reportedly calling him a “f*****g black c***.’ What happened to showing racism the red card? There was not so much as a yellow from their executive director Piara Powar who is also on FIFA’s anti-racism task force. Surely if you are the head of an organisation which vows to fight all forms of racism you cannot pick and choose which abhorrent acts to condemn. And while not for one minute playing down the severity of Mackay and Whelan referring to Chinese people as “Chinks” surely, on a sliding scale, calling a fellow professional a “black c***” is far more offensive? When John Terry and Luis Suarez were found guilty of similar racist offences Powar and his colleagues couldn’t have been any more critical. Yet not a word when Tonev was found guilty of “excessive misconduct by the use of offensive, insulting and abusive language of a racist nature”. Regardless of the fact no hard evidence was presented – it was one Aberdeen’s word against Celtic’s – the case against Tonev was proved. Last year former Rangers chief executive Charles Green was fined by the SFA for “offensive and racist comments” in an interview that referred to former Ibrox commercial director Imran Ahmad. Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths also has a racism charge hanging over his head after being caught on camera singing inappropriate songs along with fellow Hibs supporters. Again this seems unworthy of FARE’s intervention. Powar’s name may be familiar to Rangers fans as his organisation was forced to deny claims of a “deliberate and targeted campaign” against the Ibrox club three years ago. Rangers were disciplined, and correctly so, by UEFA after it emerged supporters sang sectarian songs during the home and away Europa League clashes with PSV Eindhoven. On both occasions they were reported on the basis of submissions from FARE, rather than the UEFA match delegate. At the time Powar said: “There are explicit suggestions emanating from Rangers FC of ‘a deliberate and targeted campaign against the club’. “The FARE network is focused only on our core mission of tackling discrimination in football and encouraging social inclusion through the game. We have no axe to grind with any club.” In 1999 Rangers defender Lorenzo Amoruso racially abused Nigerian striker Victor Ipkeba during a European clash with Borussia Dortmund. Again the incident was not included in the UEFA delegate’s report but Powar, then with anti-racism group Kick it Out, demanded it be investigated. Fast forward to 2013 and former Celtic player Paul Elliot had to resign from his positions within the FA and Kick it Out after he branded ex-Charlton defender Richard Rufus a “n****r” in a text conversation. Powar was quick to Elliot’s defence insisting: “I can understand the concern over the use of the n-word, whoever uses it, in whichever context. “However, I cannot accept it is racist to use it between two friends and business colleagues in a private text. “Racism and other forms of discrimination are not simply about words. It may be difficult for some to accept the difference between those words used with discriminatory intent and those that are not.” But when the League Managers Association misguidedly dismissed Mackay’s comments, which were also sent by text and email, as friendly banter Powar’s private text argument suddenly didn’t hold water. He tweeted: “Wow! The LMA defending the indefensible. Why would you put out something so utterly ridiculous? Because you haven’t a clue.” Now this is not about Rangers and Celtic but about what is fair and what isn’t. And when it comes to removing the ugly stain of racism it would seem FARE is not always FAIR"

He said: “I will return to Britain at the beginning of December and hand myself in for questioning.” He doesn't get this whole 'warrant for arrest' procedure does he? I'm convinced he is a couple of cans short of a 6 pack!! -
Sometimes there is an assumption on here that we all read the other forums, especially RM. We don't and it makes the thread quite off putting, although I know that is not the reason for the warning. It's just something I thought I would add.
-
Also add to that the fact that there are another 2 heftily paid side kicks by his side producing zilch either and it just paints a depressing picture with no signs of improving. All 3 should be wearing Dick Turpin masks when they pick up their wages at month end.

Because King obviously received no encouragement to suggest he was in the running. He had people who obviously wanted to protect themselves until it was required. I suppose they didn't want the likes of Jack Irvine attacking them to undermine them for no gain. Only a fool would show his hand that early. Somers is treating us like fools here. Zero transparency from Somers camp but he says they pulled the plug on others for that reason. Thats why Somers looks like the fool here. If King had received "prove your sources and you have our support", which he didn't get, then it would have been different. To show your hand before that commitment would be foolhardy - Somers knows that and is treating us like fools.. See above. Transparency maybe? See above. You want King to show his hand before he even gets a sniff. But you are happy for him to do that without information HE needs to commit. Yeh - the Easdales have been very open to date haven't they? Unlike them not to provide answers to key questions? I think you are approaching this arse from elbow mate. King wouldn't have approached it foolishly. He may have reacted slower than was needed but foolishly - never. He was guarded for very good reason. If you would have committed to the incumbents for little in return then I'm sorry - more fool you.

Showing the years there mate
-
Oh - I think he will be bricking it this time. I think he knew he had no choice. He's not like Ronnie Biggs who could go anywhere because he had made his money. Whyte would need to show face as he is still skint and he needs to keep wheeling and dealing.

It's like the same broken record we used to hear from D&P why certain bids were accepted\rejected and that proved to be utter garbage.

Agreed - just makes it harder to bear, talking about it.

At what point do I assume the police had no evidence? I don't get where you get that from. Having evidence and making it stick or getting confessions are two entirely different things. Made all the harder by "no comment until I see my lawyer". That's all I'm saying. You would be surprised how many times the police think they have evidence only for the Procurator Fiscal to say "we wont have a chance of a guilty verdict based on lack of evidence so we cant waste public money by taking it through a protracted court case with little chance of a guilty verdict". Lets not get carried away. It hasn't even got near a PF yet. -

I think a lot of us are watching too many films. As soon as they hit the station they will say diddley squat until they phone their lawyer (they will get one call to make). They will be advised to say nothing and they will comply. Their lawyers will turn up and If they say nothing then they will be released as they can only be detained for a certain amount of time. Their lawyers will then get them briefed. I'm still sure it will all fall flat. -
Oh I don't know if he will be that hard to find. Certain of our members on here told us recently that he "regularly walks the streets of our cities unchallenged" (eh guys? SBS?).
