  1. Community Share Scheme Wednesday, 29 August 2012 21:02 For the past two months the board of the RST, in partnership with other members of the Rangers Family, have been working on a Community Share Scheme. The Community Share Scheme is designed to bring about a significant stake in Rangers FC by way of investing in the club as a collective and helping to secure the clubâ??s long term future. Because of the size of the task involved, we sought out help from our members and the wider Rangers support. We were delighted by the response and the calibre of individuals that have got involved. Supporters Direct, the governing body for supporters trusts in the UK, have also supported the process through their network of resources. Ian Davidson MP's involvement to date has been to, very helpfully, broker a meeting with the club. Paul Goodwin (SD), Ian Davidson MP and Chris Graham (Chris has been helping to co-ordinate the project) all attended a meeting with Mr Green and Mr Stockbridge recently to discuss the concepts of fan investment and involvement in the club. Mr Green and Mr Stockbridge were very receptive to these concepts. The content of this meeting and previous discussions has been communicated to The Rangers Supporters Assembly and Rangers Supporters Association in order to hopefully achieve widespread backing for the project. The groups will reconvene after consultation. Despite all the troubles of the past six months, the Rangers Family will hopefully soon have an opportunity to invest in, and have a real say in the future of, the club we all love. The Trust Board will further update members if and when the project is ready to launch." http://www.rangerssupporterstrust.co.uk/rstsite/latest-rst-news/477-community-share-scheme
  2. from ff Peterhead Chairman said this in the match programme last Saturday v Queens Park. On the Rangers game, we were disappointed to read the following Monday that our supportive newspaper the Press and Journal carried front page headlines to the effect that there was major crowd trouble and the police would be reporting Rangers.Nothing could have been further from the truth ,with one arrest and two smoke bombs in a great atmosphere throughout the stadium. We can testify this by the letters received from both sets of fans.I personally twice walked the length of the stadium and to both ends and encountered nothing but a good natured sporting event. Can we not in this day and age report, for once,on the positives in life without having to sensationalise the negative ? Come on Press and journal ,these headlines were typical of certain rags surely not you.
  3. yes noticed that only big jump in figures i seen was the club deck, limited today, yet only about half full yesterday
  4. Kirk Broadfoot has thanked Ally McCoist and the Rangers supporters for "great memories" of his time at Ibrox. Manager McCoist confirmed earlier today that the 28-year-old defender would leave the club by the weekend. The former St Mirren player moved to Rangers in 2007 and agreed to stay at Ibrox when the club was relaunched in Irn-Bru Division Three this summer but now he is free to find another club. A statement released through Bridge Litigation UK Solicitors read: "Kirk Broadfoot has agreed to leave Rangers with immediate effect. "Kirk has thoroughly enjoyed his five years at Rangers winning three league titles and playing in the Champions' League group stages. "He also played every game in the UEFA Cup run including the final. "Kirk was glad to assist Rangers by taking a 75% wage reduction which ensured the club's survival to the end of last season. "Kirk wishes to sincerely thank Ally McCoist for his support throughout a difficult period and the Rangers fans for the great memories. "He also thanks all of the staff at both Murray Park and Ibrox for their help over the years. "He genuinely wishes his many friends at Rangers and all connected with the club all the best for this season and beyond."
  5. Wednesday, 29 August 2012 18:42 Season Tickets Top 35,000 Written by Rangers Football Club AN amazing show of support from Rangers fans has seen the club smash through the 35,000 season ticket holders mark. Since tickets went on sale earlier this month there have been lengthy queues at Ibrox with fans keen to make sure they have a seat in the stadium for the duration of the campaign. And the quick response has seen over 35,000 already to commit to the club for the coming season. That has put Rangers well on target to matching the 36,000 achieved at the same stage last season. Chief Executive Charles Green said: "I can't thank fans enough. I'd really like to get above the 36,000 that we had last year so that's the challenge that I'm setting for fans now. "I think it would send such a strong message out to football in general about what we intend to do going forward." Season tickets are on sale now priced from £258 for adults, £179 for concessions and just £65 for kids. Click here to buy online, call 0871 702 1972 or visit Rangers Ticket Centre to get your season ticket now.

  9. Forres Mechanics vice c'man David MacKintosh says keeping Scottish Cup tie wth Rangers at Mosset Park is a reward to the Can Cans loyal fans
  10. RANGERS will have just 300 fans at the Scottish Cup tie with Forres Mechanics after it was confirmed the game will be played at tiny Mosset Park. The two clubs were paired in Monday’s second round draw with last season’s Highland League champions listed as the home team. It has been anticipated by some the game might get moved to a bigger venue such as Inverness’ Caledonian Stadium or Ross County’s Victoria Park in Dingwall. That’s due to the fact the Can Cans’ ground has a capacity of just 1,400, with three quarters of it made up by grass banking. Local police have now inspected the ground though and a decision has been taken to stage the game in the Moray town after all. That means away supporters face a scramble for briefs as the Light Blues get set to visit Forres for the first time. The match is currently scheduled to be played on Saturday, September 29 but could yet be moved for live television coverage. Ticket details are not available at the moment but as soon as they are we’ll bring you them here on the official club website. http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/1881-scramble-for-forres-tickets

  12. RangersUnite – Statement 29/08/2012 Posted by andy Posted on Aug - 29 - 2012 So far 0 CommentCategories Statement A Statement of Events RangersUnite was formed in February 2012 by a number of international Rangers Supporters. Our purpose was to create and implement a Business Plan that would permit a successful emergence from administration with a majority supporter’s ownership in place. However due to the failure of the administrators to gain a successful CVA with the Company’s creditors, we proceeded with the creation of a business plan and Model that would permit a majority ownership in RFC. The following are the events that led to a closed meeting between Chris Graham, The Rangers Supporters Trust and RangersUnite, held in Glasgow at 6.30 pm on the 28th August 2012. The following is a record of events and meetings held in private between all parties: JUNE 2012 RangersUnite was approached by Mr Chris Graham, a concerned supporter. Mr Graham’s approach was due to concerns that RST and RU were proposing a supporters led acquisition of RFC, In his opinion this was problematic and efforts should be made to align and synergise both parties and proposals. A number of conversations took place with minimal discussions on the proposals taking place. It was agreed towards the end of June that all parties would convene their first meeting in early July. JULY 2012 A meeting was convened in early July 2012 with 3 members of RST and 4 members of RU in attendance, with Mr Graham attending as an observer. The discussions commenced with no real agenda or structure. The discussions mainly focussed around RangersUnite’s Vision and RST existing membership vehicle and banking system. Gordon Stewart, the Rangers Supporters Trust Secretary suggested and both parties agreed to “suspend” launching any proposals to permit both parties to carry out more diligence to be discussed at a meeting to be convened within two weeks. This was agreed by all parties. A further meeting took place in Mid July at the offices of Supporters Direct in Glasgow, with 5 members of RST, 5 members of RU, 1 member of Rangers Supporters Assembly, Mr Chris Graham and Mr Paul Goodwin of Supporters Direct being present, All parties were issued with the Rangers Ownership Fund Presentation, which took RU by surprise as this was not what was agreed at the previous meeting. RangersUnite informed all present that they were opposed to changes to agreements without consultation. The meeting progressed contrary to RU objections and upon conclusion of the meeting Mr Paul Goodwin of Supporters Direct insisted that all parties refrain from discussing matters with external parties, Which was agreed. The follow up meeting held at the end of July became contentious when it was revealed that the vehicle would be titled “Buy Rangers”, which was opposed by RU due to no consultation and for the first time a proposal that all supporters would have to become members of Rangers Supporters Trust to enable participation. RU opposed these proposals and the meeting was adjourned, with an agreement being reached for all parties to meet again in August. AUGUST 2012 A meeting has been arranged for the 28th August 2012 in Glasgow, between all parties. However, there has been no meaningful dialogue between the parties since the adjournment of the last meeting in July. Subsequently it has been discovered that Mr Ian Davidson MP has been requested to become involved in the meetings, again with no consultation or explanation to RU. It was announced last week that Chris Graham, Ian Davidson MP and Paul Goodwin of Supporters Direct had approached and met with Charles Green to discuss proposals, proposals that have not been created nor have RU approved any items discussed. Due to the meeting with Charles Green, RU have been requested to attend a meeting on 28th August 2012. Due to the lack of transparency, democracy and approval of all parties appointment RU shall decide upon any further commitment to such a vehicle and proposal.
  13. Rangers Unite‏@RangersUnite The following statement was read out this evening at a meeting with Supporters Direct, RST, Rangers Assembly...and the Rangers Supporters Association STATEMENT: Mr Graham, Mr Davidson and Supporters Direct, we would like to take this time to thank you all for your approach to RangersUnite. in an effort to eliminate opposing Membership Schemes focussed on the acquisition of Rangers Football Club. RangersUnite (RU) has been very active over the last few months, bringing in additional support and expanding our association... and with this expansion RU has had to increase our purpose to encapsulate all that is required to bring about... a supporter majority ownership of our club. For the avoidance of doubt RU believe the following purposes must be core to achieving a successful outcome...and in the best interests of all supporters. Our Purposes: 1. DELIVER FAN MAJORITY OWNERSHIP 2. UNITE ALL RANGERS SUPPORTERS UNDER ONE SUPPORTERS PLATFORM. 3. TO SUPPORT A ROBUST SUPPORTER OWNED VEHICLE THAT HAS AN ACHIEVABLE MODEL AND PLAN TO BRING ABOUT MAJORITY OWNERSHIP OF OUR CLUB. 4. JUSTICE TO THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DESTRUCTION AND DAMAGE TO OUR CLUB 5. OPPOSITION TO THE LIQUIDATION OF RFC “OLDCO”. Implementation of these purposes is to be be governed by these values:• Honesty and Transparency• Equality• Unity• Democracy• Respect RU believed that the initial approach by Supporters Direct would have followed a minimal diligence that would...ensure that any such progress would have to align with each of the respectful parties. To date we have seen no evidence of... any structure that could ensure a successful outcome. We appreciate that Supporters Direct are a competent advisory Group, but to date there has been a lack of any advice. In our opinion there has been a lack of the following: 1. Due Diligence between the parties 2. Structure to permit progress. 3. Lack of consultation with RangersUnite 4. Lack of urgency with little support to the leadership of Supporters Direct. This leads us to our concerns related to the democracy of such a venture. 1. Two groups were invited to participate, RST and RU, this lacks a quorum. 2. RU opposed the proposed public identity should an agreement be reached, however this opposition was dismissed regardless 3. Supporters Direct met with Charles Green to discuss proposals that had not been created nor approved. 4. The imposition by Supporters Direct that all supporters could only participate by joining RST, an item of great contention by RU...and is most certainly opposed by RU. Every supporter should be able to participate free from membership of any group. 5. The appointment of Mr Ian Davidson MP - there was no consultation or approval by RU. 6. RU respectfully believe that the political views of Mr Davidson are in conflict with the vast majority of... Rangers Supporters, which would be an obstacle to success. 7. Due to a lack of transparency, consultation and overruling opposition of critical items, RU believe there is a... private agenda, which is not in the best interests of the Rangers supporters. RangersUnite do not believe that these proposals will succeed as they lack transparency, democracy and integrity. We believe that only proposals that have the supporters and RFC as core will succeed and will only succeed when they have been given.. the transparency, democracy and respect they are entitled to, especially due to the significant negative events that have occurred... the transparency, democracy and respect they are entitled to... especially due to the numerous negative events occurring at the Club over the last 18 months. Although we may all be agreed that supporters involvement is critical to all, we believe that what has been discussed tonight is not in... line with the purpose and values that are central to RangersUnite, which we believe is in the best interests of EVERY Rangers Supporter.. and the Club, and therefore we cannot support such a proposal End of statement. 18. BACK IN THE BIGTIME... Ally's told Faure it could only be two years Sebâ??s right up Faure the SPL By PAUL HUGHES Published: 4 minutes ago 0 SEBASTIEN FAURE has revealed Ally McCoist told him Rangers could be back in the SPL within two years. The Ibrox new boy is in contention for a debut against Berwick in todayâ??s live Third Division clash. Itâ??s been suggested league reconstruction would see Rangers accelerate back to Scottish footballâ??s top flight in the space of only two seasons. And former Lyon kid Faure claims McCoist confirmed he could be back in the big boysâ?? league before the end of the three-year-deal he signed last week. Faure claimed: â??The manager has said to me there is a possibility that we could get back to the top flight within two years. â??Obviously, Iâ??m here for three years, so I hope we will be able to do that. â??Even if the manager hadnâ??t said that, I would still have signed. â??Thatâ??s because of the facilities we have here.â? The 21-year-old won his move after impressing during a week-long trial. And the French under-20 ace jumped at the chance to join the club despite being in the Third Division. He added: â??I came here initially for a weekâ??s trial and, after three days, the manager said he wanted to keep me for an extra week. â??I know Rangers are a legendary club. â??When I was at Lyon, Rangers played against us. Iâ??ve also been to the stadium twice for games and was really impressed with it. â??Iâ??ve followed what has been happening since the start of the summer when we found out Rangers would be in the Third Division. â??I realise that, despite all of the problems, Iâ??ve signed for a big club. â??Carlos Bocanegra has helped me settle because he speaks some French. â??I plan to take English lessons. It would be good for me if Carlos stays and also more interesting. â??It would help me to play alongside him â?? certainly at first anyway â?? although I do know most of the football terms in English.â? Faure admits he has been inspired to come to Scotland after the exodus of big names from France â?? even his old Lyon manger and Ibrox flop Paul le Guen. He added: â??Le Guen was coach at Lyon for three years, but I didnâ??t speak to him at all about coming here. â??I didnâ??t ask anyone else â?? I knew myself that this was a good club to come to. â??Now I want to emulate Franck Sauzee, Gilles Rousset, Jean-Claude Darcheville and Jeremy Clement. Iâ??ve watched all of these players on television.â? Read more: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/leaguedivision3/4505142/Sebs-right-up-Faure-the-SPL.html#ixzz24bS5U7TM

  20. of ff I was in the ticket office this morning and a casually dressed Charlie Green wandered in and spoke to the assembled bears. Mentioned that we could soon have four billionnaires as investors. He joked that on Thursday he would make Ally go first into the SFA hearing. Also said that Boca is looking for a move to the USA league. He understands the level of hatred towards us.
  21. Saturday, 25 August 2012 12:12 Gers Sign Argyriou Written by Lindsay Herron RANGERS have completed a deal for Greek defender Anestis Argyriou and the 24-year-old is set to go straight into the squad for tomorrow’s game at Berwick. The former under-21 international has spent the last two weeks on trial at Murray Park after becoming a free agent in the summer. He has done enough to convince Ally McCoist that he is worthy of a contract and he has successfully completed a medical and signed a two-year contract. International clearance has come through for Argyriou so he is free to be involved in the third league match of the season if McCoist wants him. Argyriou can play at centre back or a right back. He spent the last two seasons with AEK Athens were he made 11 league appearances and previously played for Panathinaikos. He has seven under-21 caps. The Greek defender becomes the seventh capture following the signings of Ian Black, Dean Shiels, Fran Sandaza, Emilson, Kevin Kyle and Sebastien Faure.

  23. He said: “Sales have been remarkable in the last couple of weeks. Earlier this week we were over 34,000 and I can’t thank the fans enough. It’s testimony to their loyalty. “I would really like to get beyond the 36,000 the club sold by this point last year so that’s the challenge I am setting fans anybody know an actual figure?
  24. Saturday, 25 August 2012 10:10 Let's Show The World Written by Lindsay Herron CHARLES GREEN has called on the Rangers fans to send a worldwide message about their strength and unity. The Chief Executive has been overwhelmed by the remarkable response from the fans who have been snapping up season tickets and nearly sold out Ibrox last weekend for the East Stirlingshire match. News agencies, newspapers and TV channels all over the world were reporting the 49,188 crowd which is unsurpassed for a fourth tier game in European football. Season ticket sales are now tantalisingly close to the same total for this time last season when Rangers were three in a row SPL champions. Now Green wants the supporters to hit that target again. He said: â??Sales have been remarkable in the last couple of weeks. Earlier this week we were over 34,000 and I canâ??t thank the fans enough. Itâ??s testimony to their loyalty. â??I would really like to get beyond the 36,000 the club sold by this point last year so thatâ??s the challenge I am setting fans. â??If we can beat last seasonâ??s number I think it sends such a strong message out to football in general. â??The interest in Ranges is worldwide. I met with an agent the other day and he said he was in Italy last Sunday and he opened the Sunday paper to find two pages on Rangers whereas Juventus only had a few columns. â??I think the whole world is interested. There has been worldwide coverage of Rangers not just in Scotland.â?
