  14. Rangers have appealed an SPFL tribunal decision to award Neil Alexander £84,000 after he won a breach of contract claim against the club. STV understands the former Ibrox goalkeeper was successful in proving to a panel recently that he was due the money as part of a contractual agreement which the club reneged upon. Alexander, who now plays for Hearts, was due to receive an increase in wages and bonuses if his competitor for the number one jersey, Allan McGregor, left the club. McGregor quit Rangers for Besiktas in 2012 after successfully terminating his contract when it was moved between two companies under TUPE regulation. It is understood Rangers argued that McGregor did not technically "transfer" away from the club given the circumstances. But the tribunal ruled he did, meaning Alexander's contract clause was valid. A date is yet to be set for the appeal to be heard by a Scottish FA judicial panel. Alexander started his fight for the money in December last year, with reports at the time suggesting he may use the civil court to argue his case. http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/rangers/303747-scottish-fa-to-hear-appeal-as-neil-alexander-wins-84000-from-rangers/

  21. Dundee United have been ordered to pay Rangers £204,000 in training compensation for the acquisition of Charlie Telfer. An SPFL tribunal met at Hampden on Tuesday to adjudicate over the fee for the 19-year-old midfielder, who moved from Ibrox to Tannadice this summer. The panel ruled United must pay £170,000 plus VAT, adding an extra £34,000 on to the final bill. Telfer moved at the end of his contract but Rangers are due a fee under rules governing the movement of players under the age of 23. With both clubs unable to decide on a fee for the player the matter was then heard by an independent panel. Rangers argued they were entitled to six years cash for the player between the age of 12 to 18 at a yearly rate of circa £35,000. United meanwhile believed the Scottish Championship side should only receive money to cover two years since their liquidation in 2012. The decision of the tribunal is final and binding at SPFL level. Under league rule F11 any compensation must be paid "within 28 days of the date of publication of a compensation tribunal determination". Dundee United, who are believed to be angered by the decision, are expected to issue a statement later on Tuesday on the matter. Compensation tribunals are heard in front of three appointed members. One must be a "legally qualified chairman independent of the clubs concerned", believed to be league lawyer Rod McKenzie of Harper Macleod. FIFPro vice-president Tony Higgins was also in attendance at Hampden and is believed to have sat as "a person representing or representative of players". The third member of the tribunal panel must be a "member or nominee" of the SPFL's board. Chairman Stephen Thompson represented Dundee United, while head of football adminstration Andrew Dickson was in attendance for Rangers http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/rangers/302861-dundee-united-ordered-to-pay-rangers-170000-for-charlie-telfer-move/

  23. Rangers Supporters @rangersfctrust · 2h2 hours ago The RST has tonight released the following statement:Read: http://tl.gd/n_1sj12bm The RST has tonight released the following statement: The Rangers Supporters Trust is disgusted to learn that a group of Celtic fans daubed offensive, sectarian graffiti, mocking the Ibrox disaster, on the walls of Tynecastle stadium during a recent visit there. We are even more disgusted by the attitude of Celtic Football Club towards this incident, which is to try to distance themselves from the behaviour of their fans rather than taking responsibility for it. We welcome Ann Budge's recent statement and fully support her attempts to highlight the disgraceful behaviour of a sizeable minority of the Celtic support. The group responsible for this are affiliated with The Green Brigade, who have been encouraged and tolerated by Celtic Football Club officials. This despite outward shows of support for the IRA and various offensive banners including one protesting against Remembrance Sunday. In the past few years we have seen riots in Dundee, wide-scale vandalism and disorder at Fir Park and Tynecastle and various acts of public disorder in Glasgow centred around Celtic fans. Throughout all this, Celtic's PR machine, has sought to quell reporting of these incidents and no substantive action has been taken against the perpetrators by the Celtic Chief Executive, Peter Lawwell. Celtic Football Club has a major, ongoing issue with their fans which their constant denial of facts will not solve. Their official fan groups, including the Celtic Trust, seek to legitimise this behaviour by, for instance, campaigning for the right to display public support for terrorism without penalty. We hope that belatedly, with their fans' disgraceful mocking of the Ibrox disaster, Celtic will start to take their hooliganism problem seriously and the SPFL and SFA will do likewise, despite the strong influence wielded by Celtic in their boardrooms
