  1. This guy sounds like a total c*nt!
  2. He made like he was blowing his nose on it - went right out of his way to do so and it was clearly an attempt to incite agro. Broon did his fair share of crowd goading late in the second half too. Classless.
  3. If we ever needed a reason to take the Broomloan allocation back off that mob and keep them in the corner we got it today. The flare and then their antics with the ball can't be let go. Also, I'm usually all for the coloured sheet displays but I was given a white flag to wave today for f*ck's sake! (I refused to) Whoever organised it could have thought that through a bit harder. Apart from that: second best today, but better than last time round - I still felt hopeful at half-time. Should have got a penalty early on, Morelos should have scored when through on Gordon, the referee was determined not to give us anything wherever possible. Have to say, I was really disappointed with the attitude after the second when in.
  4. It was goalkeeping gaff, but Morelos definitely deserves a lot of credit for that goal. My thought watching it was that last season that move would have ended with either Waggy slowly and dejectedly getting to his feet while everyone howled at him for not keeping the pressure on the goalie, or Garner bundling Fox to the ground and giving away a free kick.
  5. Are you serious? Is there a level of injury to a kid that you think is acceptable collateral damage for skylarking?
  6. I'm reluctant to write anything on the subject as it's such a minefield, but the thing is, in many cases the goalposts shift, and with the best will in the world it can be difficult to keep up with the accepted terminology. For example, I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that it was only fairly recently that I found out that the word "transvestite" is considered derogatory, even though it's literal translation "cross-dresser" gets the green light. It was okay in the past, but fell out of favour as it became associated with a psychological term that not all cross-dressers would consider applicable to them. How's your average punter supposed to know that (unless it's by getting pulled up for it)?
  7. It definitely seemed like there were less SD ads to me. The stuff along the front of the club deck is still all Sports Direct, unfortunately (though you wouldn't see that on telly). It'll be a happy day when it's all gone.
  8. Just been googling him: https://www.bloomberg.com/research/stocks/people/person.asp?personId=405078705&capId=405008808&previousCapId=405008808&previousTitle=COFCO%20MEAT%20HOLDINGS%20LTD Seems legit enough.
  9. For me, one of the major plus-points of this site is that it's relatively small. It means the forum can be properly and sensibly moderated, and you get to know the other posters, and their general opinions and attitudes. You also feel like you can have a discussion (or follow other people's) without the thread getting lost amongst crowd noise. For me, Gersnet is easily the best forum.
  10. Strange... I heard your mum was good with the head.
  11. ... and topical too!
  12. Sutton is basically a professional troll - it's too easy for no-talent fools to make a living that way these days. Not just in football either - Katie Hopkins and the like in the field of "politics".
  13. That's genuinely a good idea! I can't think of a downside.
  14. I'd like to know that too. I'm behind the goal and although it was a daft challenge it definitely looked outside the box. The second goal looked offside too. Having said that, the scum weren't in need of any advantages today.
  15. I'm pretty sure that sentence should end with a question mark.
  16. It would be a radical change of direction and ethos for them but, Queen's Park?
  17. Abject first half, absolutely terrifying, gung-ho second half that almost paid off, but also almost blew up in our face. My left ventricle isn't going to hold out for the season if we do that every week!
  18. The Picts weren't really Scottish. They lived in what is now Scotland, but the Scots (Gaels from Ireland) arrived only after the Roman Empire crumbled. During Roman times it was Britons up to the Antonine wall, and Picts beyond. After the Romans departed, Gaels arrived in the North West more-or-less as Angles were arriving in the South East. Scotland is roughly made up of 4 quarters: Dal Raida (Gaels) in the NW, Pictland in the NE, the Kingdom of Strathclyde (Britons) in the SW and Bernician Lothian (Anglo-Saxons) in the SE. Eventually the King of the Gaelic Scots tribe united the 4 through conquest and marriage and his tribe gave its name to the whole lot. Culturual differences between the Gaelic speaking North and those who spoke Scots (which, confusingly, is a branch of Anglo-Saxon and has nothing to do with the Scots tribe) are responsible for many of the major twists in Scottish history.
  19. I'm a Rangers fan first! In all serious though, imho, beyond things we choose to be, there's not a huge amount of point in slapping labels on ourselves. Does being Scottish (or British) mean you have to act in a different way?
  20. I'm not a nationalist, but I don't think being one makes you any less of a Rangers fan.
  21. I've no idea how accurate the "best 4" quote is, or if it is how literally it was meant to be taken, but if the gist of it is that the core of the Rangers team should be composed of top, home-grown talent then it's not too crazy a statement is it? You could argue that Scotland isn't producing players of the quality we want, but bringing in home-based players is, generally speaking, good for any team's identity and it gives the fans a greater sense of connection. Also, as points of pride, Rangers should be the club that top Scottish players aspire to play for, and Rangers players should form a major contingent in the national side.
  22. Could Club1872 also offer a way out of this scenario? DK could offload enough shares to take him below the limit to the most trustworthy shareholder possible.
  23. Is there a way DK could arrange to sell on any shares he picks up during this offer to Club 1872? That would solve the "one individual's influence" issue.
  24. The only way Ashley would invest millions in Rangers is if he rigged it so that he could suck twice-as-many millions back out. If he'd wanted to he could have bought and sold Scottish football several times over. If he'd acted in a benevolent way towards Rangers when he had control he'd be a hero to all the fans and thousands of homes would be full of Sports Direct junk. The way he behaved, however, was so contrary to our interests it makes me suspect he's actually a Celtic fan (or covert shareholder at least) out to deliberately nobble us.
  25. I had a good view of it and looked pretty clear cut to me.
