  1. I'm expecting the Rangers First vote to look similar
  2. I suppose it depends on how the contract is worded. I can't see how football contracts are anything close to your average ones, but anywhere I've worked, if you have accrued holidays you haven't taken by the time you leave, then you are paid for them in your final salary. Of course, if you've taken more than you've accrued that is also removed from your salary.
  3. Yeah that makes sense. I've only ever been stopped by police once and it was at one of those random car check things. I'm an angel me I genuinely don't hate the police - not in the UK anyway. I'm mostly grateful that we don't have US style police forces as they do seem to think they can be judge, jury and executioner. I think it's one of those topics where it's hard to see clearly. In the main, the police do a tough & often thankless job. I can't imagine it's fun to police certain stupid laws, but that is also why I'm glad police don't make the laws as such. Being too close to situations can make you react differently.
  4. I do trust them, I just don't actually know what dis-applying of pre-emption rights actually is? I like to know what I am voting for, regardless of who is in charge.
  5. That's exactly the point I was making. In the case I was discussing, the Police kept pushing it forwards, even when the person who did do the crime went to station and admitted it. The reason it was pushed? the victim was the son in law of a reasonably high up officer. In the end the case was thrown out, the CPS declined to charge anyone else & the person who was on bail for all the time got an apology.
  6. Can someone help me out? I'm assuming all the resolutions put forward are from the Board and therefore [generally speaking] we are FOR? I'm not sure on these though: To authorise the Directors to allot relevant securities on the basis set out in the Notice To authorise the Directors to dis-apply the pre-emption rights in respect of relevant securities allotted pursuant to Resolution 9 on the basis set out in the Notice To amend the Company's articles of Association by inserting an additional article in the terms set out in the notice? There's one about paying auditors too, I assumed that was standard? Sorry if any of these are actually really obvious, I just don't like voting for something when i'm not sure it makes sense to me!
  7. That comes across quite patronising Gazza, I know it's part of your job but don't assume a different opinion from yours comes from a place of ignorance. I have actually been close to a case, it was only down the CPS that an erroneous case was thrown out and the conduct of the police brought to light. That took 2.5 years. 2.5 years of someone on bail for something even the police knew he didn't do. I've seen the way the police CAN work. I'm sure you see how the CPS can work, I just hate to see a post that makes out only one side can be bad at their jobs when it's not true. I've also seen the police at their best, just don't act like the CPS are always the bad guys
  8. This is why I'm glad we do have a CPS and don't rely on police to make judicial decisions.
  9. Really pleased about this!
  10. Hahaha, just listening to this now. He's a complete fud. Wilson ties Spiers in knots.
  11. Is he frustrated or unhappy? The two are not necessarily the same. If Andy sees himself as being able to net some goals, yet he is having to play deeper than he normally would, I could see why he is frustrated, that doesn't mean he isn't happy at Ibrox.
  12. You know they only do these stories cause the obsessed will click on them? Can you picture Deila heading out for a pint with Lawell? No, me neither, and I doubt anyone would ask him about it either.
  13. Thing is though, people in general are not tax experts and if you are earning a high wage, you have advisors & accountants. Short of knowing the exact conversations had, it's hard to tell whether these guys knew exactly what they were doing or if they were actually misled.
  14. Gees the mob are out with pitchforks. Will be interesting though. C*ltic - for all their soundbites otherwise - have not progressed the way they should without us. Their crowds are down dramatically. they are going backwards in Europe & are basically a selling club. I don't think they will want us hit with any penalties that would prevent us coming up next season. Financial hit is most likely. They want us there, but in bad shape so they can humiliate us. Surely, the other argument is that by punishing us, they yet again prove we are the same club as before.
  15. Not unless they make payment to creditors outwith putting the money in OldCo. As it stands, if HMRC are included in creditors, many others will not see much, if anything at all.
  16. Carson's Cat ‏@CarsonsCat 3m3 minutes ago To put the confusion on here to bed, the COS has allowed the HMRC appeal. Now up to SDM to seek leave to appeal to Supreme Court.
  17. I'd probably need to go back and look at the last time we won, but I imagine it would say similar, for our argument.
  18. But they haven't won the case, they haven't proven anything. As far as I can tell, they've won the right to appeal the original ruling. What I want to know is, does the ruling get thrown out if the appeal wins, or is a whole new trial required?
  19. I'm lost. Do they have to appeal, to appeal the judgement? What nonsense is this?
  20. So they've won an appeal, what happens next?
  21. Raman Bhardwaj ‏@STVRaman 1m1 minute ago HMRC wins latest appeal re Rangers Tax Case over oldco's use of EBTs
  22. Raman is reporting that HMRC have won?!
  23. Glad to see this bit in there. Too many cutbacks in the wrong places last year, it's a folly to remove key staff from media/marketing/corporate relations. Happy that we are rectifying this situation.
  24. So is this a 75%-er? I will vote in the Rangers First poll with utter fucking glee.
  25. Wow so the old board did practically nothing to reduce operating expenses and were solely dependent on the season ticket sales? This shows why the boycott was so important (providing I'm reading this right).
