You would think any journalist worth his salt would be questioning why the difference. Is it not a fundamental of journalism the need to know why?

Interesting Conflicts â?? SPL EBT Hypocrisy (by Chris Graham)
Crimson Dynamo replied to Blue Moon's topic in Rangers Chat
Indeed Juventus were also stripped of 2 titles. After winning Serie A last season for the 28th time they had wanted to put the 3rd Star on there shirt because it was actually the 30th time they had won it. Instead they have put the words "30 Sul Campo" underneath there badge which means "30 on the field" -
Rangers statement on the stripping of titles
Crimson Dynamo replied to Bluedell's topic in Rangers Chat
Cracking interview from Charles again. Finally we seem to have found someone who will stand up for Rangers and speak out. He is asking the questions publicly now. That we have all been asking for months. Time for the SPL/SFA to start answering. I liked his "I don't play games" quote and that "he wanted to play games IN the SPL not WITH the SPL". Good on him I say -
I still want to see Scotland do well and make it to the big tournaments and bring back that excitement I felt as a boy. France 98 was brilliant as was Euro 96. Instead all we have now is a sense of apathy towards the national team mostly I feel because they're not that great a team but also because more often than not now they don't really have a go in games 4-6-0 anyone? They tend now just to try and grind results out which can be very boring to watch. But I won't stop supporting Scotland and I hope they get a result today! I don't however support the SFA the only way to fix them is for their to be wholesale changes from top to bottom.

Did we let Chris Hegarty go?
-
Presume so. Could we not then technically sign players who are out of contract next summer and then register them on 1st September?
-
He'll be a loss to Arsenal. But not necessarily a gain for Man Utd. I don't think Man Utd needed that type of player they already have Rooney and Hernandez. They needed a player like Adebayor or another powerful centre forward. Adebayor would score a barrell load at Man Utd and as has already been mentioned RVP is frequently injured.

Just how much money have the SFA got of ours??? http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/sfa-and-rangers-set-for-new-battle-1263498 RANGERS and the game’s governing bodies are on another collision course over an outstanding debt. Dundee United revealed yesterday they are still waiting for £31,031.20 due from a Scottish Cup tie at Ibrox last February. But Rangers continued to insist they had paid their Scottish football dues and their row with the SPL is now likely to be kicked up to the SFA for a ruling. However, in a further twist it can be disclosed the Ibrox club themselves have had to wait for the SFA to release £800,000 owed to them. That money was sent to Scottish football’s governing body from Southampton via their own association as payment for the transfer of Steve Davis. Charles Green was still salvaging Rangers at the time and felt it appropriate the fee go to the SFA instead of into his Sevco account. Yesterday a Hampden source revealed that because the money was with the SFA it was suggested by Green they proceed to pay the club’s outstanding Scottish football debts. But almost a week later he discovered they hadn’t. Not only that, according to the source the SFA had no intention of making payments. Green, it is understood, paid the debts – but not United’s £31,000 – from the Rangers account as soon as he’d been alerted but then couldn’t get his Davis money back from the SFA. Apparently the people authorised to sign off cheques were on holiday. United have been careful not to say who should pay them but they should have been settled in full by now, especially as it is unclear when SPL clubs will get their hands on TV money. Normally they’d have received their first payments – around £675,000 each – by now but the renegotiations with broadcasters after Rangers went into liquidation have ensured the cash hasn’t started flowing yet. Last night the SPL still couldn’t say when the payouts, which will be lower than usual, will be made but they are likely to get something before United will see any of the money due from the Ibrox cup-tie. Rangers insist the SPL agreed they would pay and have a letter, dated May 18, which states the debt would be taken out of SPL money owed to them. This was before liquidation and afterwards the SPL withheld around £1.2m Gers were due for finishing second. The SPL will argue the letter is no longer relevant because it was sent to the business which went into liquidation and United’s debt should be paid by the newco. They are adamant the five-way agreement – between the SFA, SPL, SFL, Sevco and The Rangers Football Club PLC (in adminstration) – which allowed Rangers to get an SFA licence makes it clear who should settle outstanding debts. But Rangers are furious and determined to hold the SPL to the wording of that May letter. Green said: “We wrote to United on Monday explaining the SPL had previously confirmed they would pay it. “I spoke to Stewart Regan and his solicitor today and provided them with relevant documentation.”

SPL Agreed to pay Dundee United from money withheld from Rangers last season http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/dundee-united/150386-rangers-and-spl-in-dispute-over-unpaid-dundee-united-ticket-money/ Rangers insist the Scottish Premier League are to blame over an outstanding amount due from the club to Dundee United. The Ibrox side waived any claim to £2.55m in prize money from the league for the 2011/12 season, as part of the agreement which saw them granted the transfer of the club's Scottish FA membership. Rangers also agreed to settle all football debts, this week making payments to Celtic and Hearts. Responsibility for a circa £66,000 debt to Dundee United, relating to gate receipts from a Scottish Cup tie last campaign, was taken on by the Scottish FA and SPL, Charles Green believes. STV has learned that half of the approximate £66,000 share of gate receipts was paid by the Scottish Football Association last season after money due to Rangers was diverted to Tannadice. Dundee United though, issued a statement on Wednesday morning saying that they were yet to receive an amount, believed to be in the region of £31,000, following Rangers chief executive Green's claim that all football debts had now been paid. STV understands the SPL does not believe that there is a firm agreement to make the remaining payment. However, the amount remains unpaid and Rangers have reiterated that they have a written agreement with the SPL for the league to pay United from prize money from the 2011/12 season. The agreement was clarified in a letter, the wording of which has been obtained by STV, sent by SPL secretary Iain Blair to Rangers on May 18 this year. It read: "The Board of the Scottish Premier League Ltd considered the application by Dundee United that the outstanding sum due by Rangers to Dundee United of £31,031.20 be offset against the next sums due to Rangers by SPL Ltd, with the offset sum being paid to Dundee United. "The board decided to accede the application to Dundee United and accordingly the sum will be withheld from the next sum payable by the SPL Ltd to Rangers, and the sum will be paid by the SPL Ltd to Dundee United." Should agreement not be reached over payment then the Scottish FA could be asked to act as arbitrators by Dundee United.

Charles Green has accused Scottish football's authorities of pursuing an agenda against Rangers. The chief executive, addressing fans queuing to buy their season tickets on Tuesday, said he intended to continue to defend his club, even if it meant incurring the wrath of the Scottish FA. Green is already facing a charge for claiming the decision to place Rangers in the Third Division was partly driven by â??bigotryâ? but says he won't stop speaking his mind. â??We're not having, excuse my French, people taking the pee out of us anymore,â? said Green. â??It's finished. â??I will give you an example. This morning, I had a phone call from the SPL telling us we can't put our old games on the website because we don't own the archive rights. â??'And by the way, Charles, don't get angry. You shouldn't think we are being vindictive, it's just what the agreement says". â??Tell me how I took that? I was walking on the ceiling. I think there is an agenda. â??There's still battles to be won. I shan't let you down. I said to someone earlier that when everyone was against us, we stayed. People are now warming to us and we are staying. â??But if we leave fans to one side for a moment, while ever that lot are against us, I'm not leaving. There's no-one spoke for this club for three or four years. It's not had anyone standing up. â??I am going to get fined every week, I suspect, or I will get banned.â? Rangers were issued a Notice of Complaint by the Scottish FA late last week regarding Green's comments, having been accused of bringing the game into disrepute for his remarks. He said before his side's Challenge Cup tie with Brechin City: "Some of it has been driven by bigotry, some of its been driven by jealousy and some of its been driven by all the wrong motives." The Scottish Premier League was unavailable for comment at the time of publication over Green's claims regarding archive footage. http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/rangers/149577-charles-green-there-is-an-agenda-against-rangers-in-scottish-football/

Is Ally the Man for the job? - The McCoist Thread
Crimson Dynamo replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
There is something wrong at Rangers with the backroom team especially with the medical staff. How many players have we lost over the years to bad injuries and they just never come back or if they do they are never the same player. How many players have we signed for big bucks then a few weeks later they are out for the season. Are we just unlucky? -

I would like to see Ray Wilkins given some sort of job at Rangers. He wasn’t great as a manager. But he has been excellent as a coach. Chelsea nosedived after they got rid of him. Were the rumours that he got sacked from Chelsea because he was talking to Rangers just that? -

I don’t think Lafferty ever justified his near £4m price tag and if we could have recouped most of our money on him, I think we would have done so. Kirk Broadfoot most people would like to have seen him leave a couple of seasons ago but he is still there. David Weir was basically finished 2 seasons ago but because we couldn’t get anyone decent to replace him he stuck around. Jelavic’s heart wasn’t in it he was looking to move plus Whyte was looking to sell him as well, even more so after we got knocked out of Europe. Naismith got injured. Whittaker was far too inconsistent he was another who never really justified the big fee we paid for him and Bougherra wanted to leave as well. McCoist took a punt on Goian after failing to get Cuellar who I think would’ve done a job for us but Goian certainly hasn’t so far. I don’t know why we signed McKay, Ortiz and Bedoya just because we could I suppose but none of them were really given a proper chance to make it at Rangers. Wallace and Bocanegra were the only 2 decent signings McCoist made last summer in my opinion. -

It's not really fair to criticise him at the moment. He was asked to take over a team last season that hadn't really changed in about 3 years and was in desperate need of freshening up. Out of everyone he got I would say only Bocanegra and Wallace were a success. He was still stuck with a lot of deadweight that Walter Smith had bought Lafferty for example. With no real hope that even if he did manage to sell them. With Craig Whytes transfer negotiation tactics he had little to no chance of getting someone half decent in to replace them. This season he is trying to build a completely new team from scratch he's had no chance to play any pre-season games to allow players to get match sharp. So in effect at the moment this is our pre-season. If we are still like this in a month or 2 then I will be concerned but not at the moment. -

Not that I want McCoist replaced. But if he were to be replaced I would say someone like Mixu Paatelainen who I've always thought could do a job at this level (meaning Rangers not Div 3 haha!) given a chance or Stuart McCall. Both of whom I think would take the job if offered it. -
Charles Green claims Mike Ashley will earn Rangers £10m a year
Crimson Dynamo replied to Steve1872's topic in Rangers Chat
We gave away our merchandising to JJB did we not? So if we do make that sort of money then are JJB not making most of it? Surely it would be better if Charles Green brings it back to Rangers where we getter better control of it albeit through another outlet be that Ashley or whoever. Taken from:http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19225698 JJB Sports and Rangers entered a 10-year merchandising contract in 2006, when the Glasgow club received an initial payment of £18m with a guaranteed minimum annual royalty of £3m. Going by that we can't be making anywhere near £20m -

Just checked it was Mark Goldberg who did the weird stuff at Palace. Glanced thru wiki about Simon Jordan kinda sounds he had palaces best interests at heart. -

Would be good news for Rangers on two fronts. The business connection and all the possible commercial advantages and the footballing Newcastle seem to have a good record with signing players developing them then punting them for massive profit in recent years anyway. Not sure how much of that is down to Mike Ashley tho. -
Heard similar rumours a month or so ago. I keep saying to everybody that says Rangers are guilty. If it is such an open and shut case then why no decision. Obviously more to it than has been reported and what that site would have you believe!
