for def.......if we keep going back the way in our signings by the time we make it back to the top we will have to spend millions fixing the team again. I'm all for having some experienced heads around the place. But we have that already in McCulloch and Alexander if McCoist wants more then McCulloch and Alexander should be moved on. Also I don't see the benefit of Miller as an experienced head he runs about a lot but he was never particularly creative in either spell at Rangers

I would question the wisdom of trying to bring in South or Central Americans historically players from these countries haven't done well in Scotland. Daly could well do a job at Rangers and I dare say score a few goals. But he would be another short term fix and in 2 years when we are likely to be back in the SPL we would be looking to replace him. We need to look longer term

No harm to him and wish him well for the future. But never thought we shoulda signed him in first place it seemed we signed him to just make up the numbers. So why*sign him at all? Waste of money in my opinion....

Was Kyle not on a pay as you play deal?

It is simple things like this clubs and players get wrong. I've said it before when you watch games from other countries the players look fitter. Take Ronaldo for example an amazing player but he also looks like the complete athlete. Now i'm not saying that our players should be able to play like Ronaldo but they should be able to look as fit as he does most of our players look out of shape and unfit which is probably why we have so many injuries

I think we are in a position where we can give McCoist a chance. But we would need to be seeing something to keep giving him that chance and I'm afraid I don't see anything at the moment......

If we get things like scouting and youth development right then it is possible for us to do that.

I agree...... Though I think we have lot's of untapped potential for example if we are selling the naming rights to Ibrox why not do it for Murray Park also? Why not get a seperate sponsor for training tops etc.... I think he needs to be a lot more clearer in what Rangers plan to do to generate this type of turnover.....

Benitez has a point his position at Chelsea was undermined from day one when he was announced as interim manager.

Rangers FC did not gain any unfair competitive advantage from the contraventions of the SPL Rules in failing to make proper disclosure of the side-letter arrangements, nor did the non-disclosure have the effect that any of the registered players were ineligible to play, and for this and other reasons no sporting sanction or penalty should be imposed upon Rangers FC; SPL REPORT http://www.scotprem.com/content/mediaassets/doc/Commission%20Decision%2028%2002%202013.pdf -

Is that not potentially good news? If it was bad news I think they would be falling over themselves to announce it/ leak it -

Juventus have done this to a degree this season. They were stripped of 2 titles because of the match fixing scandal in Italy. They feel it was unjust. So when they won the title last season it would have taken them to 30 which would have meant a 3rd star above their badge instead of the officially recognised 28. So to celebrate it Juventus have put "30 sul campo" (30 on the Field) on their shirt under their badge this season -
A well written article. I enjoyed reading it.... I would agree that Rangers themselves need to meet with supporters groups and clubs to put out a united front against the type of incident seen on Saturday. We have enough people attacking us for other reasons at the moment without giving them more mud to sling at us.

I agree but do you not think banners telling him to **** off gave him an excuse to walk away? -

We have a guy who is willing to put money into Rangers who owns one of the largest chains of sports shops in the UK. Someone that could really help the Rangers brand and name grow. I personally think that Newcastle United has one of the best set ups for any team in the UK. As I understand Mike Ashley is largely responsible for this and he wants to put serious money into Rangers surely all that is a good thing. I donâ??t think we are in a position where we can tell these guys like that to **** off -

Its stupid behaviour like this that gives us a bad name. I understand the meaning behind it. But there are so many different ways they could've said the same thing without resorting to that....... -
I think under both regimes the improvements were coming. Under Advocaat (though he was too free with money) we were competing in Europe. I still maintain had Mols not been injured in Munich we would have qualified for the next phase and then who knows...we were a match for most teams in Europe at that point in as much we could give them a game home and away and the only team I would say that had it's way and played us off the park (in europe) during Advocaats era was Valencia. Le Guen never lost a game for us in Europe yes he lost plenty of others but I still say he could have created a great Rangers team. He should have been allowed to punt Ferguson (thought he was bigger than Rangers) McGregor (more on the front page than back) and Boyd (How many managers have not been convinced by him) Le Guen lost his job at PSG yes, but how many other managers have they went through and from what I understand they were in a better state when he left them than when he started with them…..
-
I don't know what is true but in Le Guens defence when Ferguson was out of the team everybody said Rangers were playing the best football anyone had seen Rangers play for a long long time. All they lacked was a striker to score the goals (he was using Buffel) when Ferguson came back into the team against Molde in the UEFA cup we were diabolical and something seemed to change within Rangers that night. It all went downhill from there. Under Advocaat in his first season Rangers were excellent they looked fitter and played football that was great to watch it reminded me of the pass and move Liverpool side. This was until the rumours of the dressing room split between the foreign players and the scottish players and Rangers went downhill and never reached the same heights again. During Le Guen and Advocaat era's apparently they both tried to adopt a more "european" style of coaching and some of the players rebelled I think that much is clear

Did Nike or Adidas not buy Umbro? No it appears Nike sold it to Iconix http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2222483/Nike-offloads-Umbro-brand-Iconix-140m-deal.html

I agree things like this would go a long way to increasing and promoting the Rangers brand and would be fairly easy to achieve and sustain. I think ideas about tie ups with the Dallas Cowboys are great in theory but until we learn how to do the right things at grass roots level how can we ever hope to succeed on an international level......
