Really that is shocking? When you consider what some of our hangers on are supposedly on
-
When we were demoted to League 3 we had no guarantee of a shirt supplier, sponsor, 80% of the team left and we reduced the price of season tickets. To me that screams tread carefully with how you spend your money. But we didn't we continued to spend like an SPL team and built a team capable of playing in the SPL we even gave Lee Wallace a new contract which I presume involved a salary increase. It's decisions like this that have f****d us and it was completely insane and the responsibility for that has to lie with the old board.

Yes we are we have the second highest wage bill in Scotland to play in League 1 and if we are not in trouble financially why is this thread on the Forum? I believe the majority of Rangers fans want to see a team that plays good football and gives 100% effort so that you come away from Ibrox feeling entertained or that the players tried their best. I haven't seen or felt entertained at Ibrox in a while. Again if we are not in trouble financially why do we need investment? If the club is run correctly it should be able to sustain itself with no need for additional investment
-
Possibly and Probably but with our income severely reduced we still continue to spend like we are challenging for the title in the SPFL. That is insanity and a big reason we are in trouble again.

We should've made cuts from day one and built ourselves back up

Madjid Bougherra: ‘I’d play at Rangers for free’
Crimson Dynamo replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
He looked a bit of a player when he first arrived but by the time he left he looked overweight and thought he was Paolo Maldini I wouldn't take him back -
The money isn't there though If the board was honest with us (I know how that sounds with this board) and said "we are building for the future a dynasty, you will see improvements" whatever and we could see it on and off the park then I think the fans would get behind the team and support like only Rangers supporters can. I know I would. At that point who knows a wealthy Rangers fan may say i'll bankroll the squad, but if that doesn't happen we would have a firm foundation from which to build from. I know this is very hopes and dreams but it is the way we need to be run from now on. Celtic are about to fall apart you can see it coming Forster, Samaras and Ledley are all restless and probably going to leave which will make it a mammoth task for them to qualify for the Champions League at which point they'll need to decide what to do invest or accept it. But if we were run properly we'd be in a far stronger position than Celtic as in theory we should be debt free Like I say very hopes and dreams

It's not really standards it's building upon success. If we get into the Europa League proper make a bit of money then invest that back in the team its a real recipe for achievement and the team would gradually be able to challenge Celtic How many times have we spent millions trying to get into the Champions League and not achieved it. It's a big reason for the situation we ended up in
-
The comments section of the story are hilarious!
-
We need a board that can build on success I personally think if we win the Championship next season then qualify for the Europa League the next thats a success our current side is good enough to do that. To think we should be winning the SPFL on our return is delusional it'd cost millions, millions we don't have
-
That's been the problem with us for the last 15 years just throw money at something usually money we don't have We have to learn to live within our means
-
then we'll go bust
-
really sad to hear that from reading the post from a few months back it sounds like he had a bit of a hard time

Yes I agree But we dug a hole for ourselves by not building for the future. Our business model required we qualify for the Champions League just to break even thats lunacy at its best. Murray Park was the bold vision and it has created some good players just not for us.

The only reason Walter escapes criticism is because we won stuff

There is no way anybody should be getting paid 400k at Rangers at this moment in time

The Fellaini move was desperation on his part, I think Fergie left at the right time. He saw they were done and needed a massive overhaul

Defo I'd forgot about them, I love watching 3 at the back or even a sweeper system. When I play Fifa I usually play 3 - 5 - 2 sexy football indeed haha
-
have any Scottish teams ever successfully played 3 at the back I know we tinkered with it under Smith in 90's but it was chaotic and never worked.
-
Are we that good we don't need a goalie? haha
-
I'd agree with that, but only in certain circumstances for example signing someone at the end of their career like Ibrahimovic (I know!) we'd make money off him another way. But signing late 20's who we would have little to no chance of recouping anything on should be a big no in my book Ibrahimovic was the only player I could think of, off the top of my head
-
Yes but signing players who could make us money should be the name of the game for us at the moment and for the foreseeable future I can't see how we would make anything from him. He'd need to be amazing in his first season in the SPFL and then what maybe a £1m tops? and I'm being very generous with that estimate
-
Why not develop McAusland or Mitchell? Both looked capable when I've seen them play they just they need an extended run in the team
-
28 sorry but he's too old

I think there are a number of reasons for the share price being so low. 1. The boardroom unrest 2. The rumours of cost cutting and administration 3. The league we are in it could go on and on Does anyone know of the top of their heads is there a team in England in a similar position to us and what their share price is?
