Record Back Page - Ally, I Need New Players
Crimson Dynamo replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Ally needs to get a grip -
I'd much rather fans chose to stay away from games than do things like this. I also wish our fans could get on the same page instead of what we have been doing. We have the SOS doing one thing the UOF another it makes us look disorganised we are fast becoming a laughing stock (if we're not already there)

Confirmed: Mike Ashley has doubled his stake in Rangers.

It wouldn't surprise me if he negotiated some sort of percentage deal for the forseeable for himself when it comes to Rangers related products- 212 replies

IS ALLY McCOIST'S POSITION UNTENABLE? asks the Herald....
Crimson Dynamo replied to SteveC's topic in Rangers Chat
in a word - yes both McCoist's and the boards -
Our business model required us to bring in £10m extra a season that we didn't have. We've still not rectified this that's why the bank got a hold of us. Murray wanted rid of us that's why he sold to Whyte. LBG's only part in it was they saw a way to get their £20m back imo
-
The reason we ended up in the position we're in was down to gross mismanagement of the company by Murray, Whyte and this new lot

Please forgive my ignorance, should something like this not be freely available to shareholders?

The price could just have easily gone up for a few days on the back of the “success” (I use that loosely) but it was always going to come down. So in a sense you are correct they’ve thrown their members money away. But if I was a member paying into this on the expectation that they would be investing in share issues etc. I would question why they didn’t when they had the opportunity.

Rightly or wrongly they are trying to protect their investment on behalf of their members and keep the company going. Otherwise they risk losing everything as has already been stated on here in the last week the share price is going to just keep tumbling and when the big share issue comes the price will probably be between 10p and 13p. I’d be shocked if it was more than that.

Waiting for what? They have already invested in the previous share issue do they not have a duty to protect their members investment?

King is restricted by what he can say, if he says stuff that drives the shareprice down and he subsequently takes over. I imagine that wouldn't go down too well

I'm half expecting a big loan from Ashley secured against something that will keep us in bed with Sports Direct for years to come

Why? I want Rangers to be successful but not if that means us spending money we don't have
-
Why did we need all that? Couldn't we just have rebuilt properly even if it took 5 years 10 years so what? We wouldn't have been constantly looking over our shoulders worrying where money was coming from
-
They seem to have absolutely no idea how to run a business, when they took us over we were losing a million a month almost 3 years later we're still almost losing that much. The board should have drastically reduced spending even if that meant it took us 5 years to get back to where we were, the ipo shouldn't have went out to this year at the earlier instead they have lined their own pockets allowed our manager to spend spend spend and done nothing but lie to us. Thats why fans want them out
-
Possibly, it wouldn't surprise me if that was all part of the plan in the beginning. They must've known the share price was going to plummet after the IPO
-
We don't need that at all, we need reputable businessmen interested in running a proper business in charge of us and proper football men running the footballing side

150 games might be pushing it but if you take full seasons and and cup runs for the previous 2 seasons and then add this one it's not far away from 150 games albeit i'm not including injuries etc. But I think you'll see what I mean. A number of the players you mention should be more than good enough for our level and indeed could probably in the top division but due to a lack of devlopment they haven't progressed. I would lay that at the coaching staffs door.
-
I didn't agree with a lot of what Charles Green said but did agree that if we had properly given youth a chance on the way back, we could have had several young 20 somethings with over 150 games of experience instead we've got what? Lewis MacLeod, maybe Fraser Aird and I'm stretching at Aird I think
-
That's a big reason we find ourselves in this position, i would quite happily spend 5 or 6 years getting back to the top flight as long as it was done right and we were prepared when we got there. The way we've done it we won't be and we'll have to spend yet more money building yet another team and again probably all veterans....

I like Alex Miller, Hibs were always good under him as I recall (though I was quite young). He was rubbish at Aberdeen but that job is poisoned has been since the early 90's
