Both Arsenal and Man U looked shellshocked after the games this weekend. Lots of players under performed and both managers will be looking for a reaction. I'd trust Wenger to get one more that Moyes at the moment.

Great draw for us and the hooped horrors are raging about a fix rather that focussing on their own abject performance yesterday. Crowned my weekend. C'mon Rangers let's win this.

Fan figures give SPFL chief Neil Doncaster a lift:

Further to the post above I have just noticed that Dumbcaster's remarks and the Rhebel headline are not about the same thing. Dumbcaster is talking about attendances across all 4 leagues, so that includes our contribution that masks all those empty seats at the Piggery. The Rhebel is spinning this into record attendances for the SPL which is obvious nonsense. -

Is Dumbcaster serious? Hard to believe that all those punters allegedly flocking through the turnstiles at Aberdeen, etc make up for all the empty green seats at the Piggery let alone the missing numbers from Rangers not being in the SPL. Remember those games last season when there were more at Ibrox than all the SPL attendances combined. Who is he trying to kid? -
Sorry to say that I can't disagree with any of this. City were given a hard lesson in tactical nous last night. Don't know what match Pellegrini was watching if he reckons the better team lost. Sorry Manuel, that's rubbish. City were well beaten last night. Lesson learned hopefully. No slip up's against Arsenal or Man United now.

The product on the pitch in every division is dire. It's just that nobody wants to admit it.

It's a lifetime away from watching City get relegated and then relegated again at Maine Road in the late 1990's. There were still 30,000 odd punters turning out regularly to see them in what was the old 3rd division. That's loyalty and love for your club. Only matched by the loyalty shown by Rangers fans over the last 2 years. I was at Wembley in 1999 to see City scrape past Gillingham in the play-offs and start the long climb back from the abyss and I can remember the joy on so many people's faces. Kids who had grown up City fans and had suffered nothing but pain, misery and dog's abuse from their United supporting glory hunting peers. Finally they had something to shout about. It was inspiring and it's my City mates who followed the team through the dark days, who suffered so much heart-ache and so many dismal performances under the likes of Alan Ball and a string of equally useless managers, that truly deserve the great team that they now have. It's wonderful that the boot is on the other foot now and City are rampant while United are shite. Another 6-1 at Old Trafford in a few months would go down nicely. Craig is right Pellegrini is a fantastic coach. Level headed and calm - a real inspiration. He's improved an already good team and he's finally getting the recognition that he deserves. Hopefully one day Rangers' fans loyalty will be just as well rewarded. Rangers (and City) 'til I die.

Good luck to PJZ. This is a stinking scandal that epitomizes (or should that be "epitimizes") the level to which journalism has sunk to in Scotland. Nothing to see here boys. Move on. Move on. Whoever you are mate, keep digging.

Hope you're right PapaBear. Because this is shambolic. I would not trust the Easdales as far as I could throw them.

State Aid and Football clubs under the spotlight....
Doc replied to Max Rebo's Big Blue Nose's topic in General Football Chat
If that's not a conflict of interest then I don't know what is. You can bet the media would have been all over it if it had been Rangers supporting councilors voting us a hand out. The silence is deafening.- 89 replies

Utter drivel from Regan. We expect nothing less. -

Never forget. Where was your compassion when Rangers didn't know if they were going to get a licence to play, let alone put a team of god know's who on the pitch in dark summer of 2012? Gone missing along with your integrity Hugh. What a sad bitter little man you are.- 8 replies

SPFL chief Neil Doncaster looks back on 2013 as a 'challenging year'

You would THINK. But then Thomo's investigative eye is a bit blind when it comes to Celtic. Nevertheless those figures are a scandal. And the stupid Timmy commentor at the end can't even read. The tables say prices of "Land for Development". That's just the prize for greenfield or brownfield land, not land that's been developed. Of course the value would increase when something gets built on it but that's not what the calculation is about.- 89 replies

Nice one Sone. Fantastic reposte. Shows how little Collymore knows.

Says everything you need to know about the SPL's "product". It's shit, been shit for years, getting shitter every season, and won't stop getting shit until Rangers get back to liven things up. Our gates on the other hand are just about "defiance". We're going to watch Rangers just to spite them. Aren't we???

Craig Burley: Bore of the same in 2014 for Scottish Football
Doc replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Can't say I agree about wanting Septic to do well and I've given up waiting for another new dawn with Scotland. The deeper Septic sink into the general mire the better I'll like it. -
Good point Bossy. Where was Davie and the rest of Celtic-friendly media when the witch hunt was at its peak? Too busy sticking the knives in to worry about the consequences. Sorry Davie but you and your pals made this bed, no use in complaining about it unless you want to lead the campaign to have Rangers straight back into the SPL.... Thought not.

An interesting point BH. Perhaps that is an extreme example but it illustrates the point about how many youth players we have and why we should be making greater use of them. The question of whether these lads can really progress under Ally and the present coaching team is different though. I seriously think another manager would have seized the unique opportunity from the start in the 3rd division and got more out of these youth players.

Terrible performance. Where is the progress? None! Ally's shortcomings exposed again. We deserve better than this. Even with half the players, a better manager could get more out of the squad.
