Ian Harte? :fish:

I fear it will be more about how the mighty have fallen rather than how the empowered let us fall or how the fallen are rising as the article suggests. Having said that JohnDCGow, an ESPN reporter is a big fan of the club and I'm sure he'll at least keep tabs on what's happening.

I read this story at work today. I can't believe they had the audacity to actually say we were trying to cash in on their downfall when EVERY SPL team has kicked us at our lowest since February. Absent minded Fucking idiots.

SFL chief David Longmuir trumpets the launch of SFL TV
Ergatrude replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
The only way I could see the sky deal affecting us would be refusing us entry to the SPL but since Green has said a few times that we may not return then he's either serious or using it as leverage of some sort? -
Are we due last season's SPL prize money or not?
Ergatrude replied to RANGERRAB's topic in Rangers Chat
It's what happened.. just not as blatant as "you're not getting a license if we don't get the money". -
Are we due last season's SPL prize money or not?
Ergatrude replied to RANGERRAB's topic in Rangers Chat
I think it's true we were never getting it. They would have withheld it citing the membership was revoked or that we broke rules or something. CG or D&P would have taken it to court if the SPL withheld the money and that would have meant the money would have been ringfenced, probably for a long time. The SPL needed this money, CG knew this.. but the SPL knew that CG knew this so used the membership as a gun to his head so he would waive the money which then saved Rangers and saved the SPL. All of the above may be wrong, but that is basically how I read it at the time. -

No, we had been voted into the SFL already. The SPL/SFA made it a requirement that we waive our prize money as a condition for them giving us a membership share which we cannot play without. It all went down on that final day when it was boom or bust for us. -

I'm fairly certain we waived the rights to the prize money as a condition of membership. -
I think I'll choose my own opinions, thanks.

Alexander is by far the best communicator but for me he is too far back. Maybe we should play role roulette with Alexander and give him the armband when its his turn in midfield Ahaha. Seriously though, outside of Jig & Neil I can't really see any captains.
-
Who would you make captain?
-
I wonder if its a full time player contract or if it might include coaching roles. He has started his badges hasn't he?

Calling him an embarrassment can only be dressed as negative mate.

This is the first decent blog i've seen from Leggat for a while, although I tend not to bother clicking on them. It is a very poor show that no one seems to question what a journalist reports these days except bloggers who are largely ignored. We need a pro-active PR team to counter these claims. & I mean counter them, not just point to an incident similar with Celtic fans that wasn't reported.
-
I suppose we needed a negative thread to take away from the POSITIVE fact we brought an end to our away day hoodoo.. It seems some people not only want to pick the transfers, chose the tactics & pick the team but now they want to chose what the manager wears? *sigh*

18% possession and lose and it's a great night for the club. We had 35% possession and drew 0-0 but we played anti-football. Forster didn't deserve a 9 either, from what I've seen the second goal was completely savable.

Extent of litter problem in Barcelona today?
Ergatrude replied to 26th of foot's topic in Rangers Chat
So.. I just typed "Dear Rangers, please never visit Barcelona again" into google to try and get this story to post it. I came across something rather disturbing that I'm not going to link to, but I'll quote it; This was a neutral piece about upcoming Champions League ties dated 31/08/2012.. Did they win 55 titles already? Have I missed something? -
A valid point I hadn't thought of.

For the record.. I was more pissed off at what Messi said after the game about us playing anti-football. -

When it's abroad and it is only getting 60 seconds on our prime time news, an unsubstantiated and poor English spoken foreigner is all they need to make the minds up of those who believe everything they see on TV. -
When this result is released.. what does it mean to us?

Was this the time the headline was "Dear Rangers, please never visit Barcelona again" that went on to brand us wife-beating, street pissing, pub robbing beggars? -
I'm not sure if this part was directed at me or not, but I'll reply with the only reason I mentioned these two songs. These are songs that are/were popular in culture, we adopted them at Ibrox and they are allowed to be belted out through the tannoy system. Anyone who has a radio knows the words to these songs making it easier for everyone to sing along which then creates a loud and impressive atmosphere. Some of the songs that are sung at Ibrox (not just BF1) are songs that wouldn't be allowed to be played over the tannoy system or aren't played on the radio meaning fans like myself who don't frequent forums or pubs that may teach me the lyrics to sing along would know the words. For the record, I believe in free speech and don't think anyone should be chastised for saying or singing words. It would be better for the club if the fans were to stick to songs that don't get us into trouble with the current hardon the media have for reporting everything negative about Rangers.. not to mention the scumbags who sit and watch Rangers games live whilst their team are playing elsewhere just so that they can jot down a minute-by-minute account of songs sung at Ibrox in order to report our club. Having said that, the boys in BF1 do seem to stick to songs that we are dictated are allowed most of the time. I just think it would be better if they stuck to Rangers songs, ones that everyone knows and then maybe the whole of Ibrox will rock again

It would be nice to get more of the stadium involved, but it would also be nice if the songs were all about Rangers. Sometimes the whole crowd do belt out songs like Penny Arcade, Three Little Birds, Follow Follow etc. Songs that everyone knows the words too. I often find myself concentrating on what BF1 are singing to try and work out the lyrics. I'll stick to pretending I know what's going on and clapping until big Tina struts out and belts Simply The Best for us. Off Topic: What happened to the rumoured Amy MacDonald performance the other day?

I agree, although his points are valid.
