The way I see it.. everytime Celtic are in good form one of their players says something in the press & then their form drops.. This week I saw a headline "invincible" and although I never read it I assume it was one of them saying they are going to finish the season unbeaten from now on.. if thats the case then tonights game could be the beginning of the end, I hope. Jelavic jynxed us too when he said it earlier this season, in fact iirc it was our next game after he said it that we drew.

Really? I thought we had plenty strikers.. :fish:

Ibrox Noise: Have the BBC Forgotten About Fairness?
Ergatrude replied to Danny's topic in Rangers Chat
Good blog Danny. Would you consider doing one on Whyte? Ie pro's & cons, fulfilled promises & failed promises, fact & tabloid fodder? I thought about doing 1 due to, what I believe is, unfair criticism fuelled by media speculation. I would but I'm working 69 hrs p/w atm & dont really have time to sift through the information available. -
Well at least now if we lose we can blame Broodfoot & it'll all be ok. :fish:

Darrell King - Questions That Need Answered

Can we see these accounts? If this is true I'd like to see this one explained as it is a blatant lie & as such requires an answer. -

He has already said that it was "closer to £20m." Lazy journalism. -

Where did this figure come from? -
But here lies the problem. He has been more forthcoming with us than any other chairman we have had, yet he is either ignored, ridiculed or doubted. I honestly think that if Jimmy Saville had taken over Rangers he wouldn't have been able to please the fans. He has never said that he has bundles of cash, the papers did. He has said that he has enough money to get Rangers in a position to be a self sustaining club. But the media say what they want & people believe it anyway.. They claim he mortgaged off £24.4m, CW has since said the figure was "closer to £20m" yet even in todays papers they are still quoting £24.4m I completely agree that everyone is entitled to their opinion & don't get me wrong, I have issues with the current board aswell. For instance why are they allowing our best young talent to leave the club? Why did they sign our top stars into long contracts with high wages & then claim that the wage bill is too high? (I assume this was to increase their transfer price). I just disagree with the fact that CW is being painted as the villain for the tax case & debt etc etc when he had absolutely nothing to do with it.

Would this quote have made it into the article if it didn't involve Rangers?
-
I agree Bluedell, sadly funding is always going to be an issue until we are hit with our fine, or aren't.
-
I can't agree here Dutchy. I don't see why Craig Whyte should be any different from any other football club owner. Never mind the fact that we are deep in financial dogshit, but you don't see the chairmen of Celtic, St. Mirren, Manchester United or Doncaster Rovers discussing in-depth financial details of their clubs. I don't remember anyone calling for all these intimate details when SDM was in charge and it was him afterall who made the mess. If the chairmen of football clubs were to discuss these details in public then I'm sure it would be more than just Rangers fans who would be pissed off. I'm pretty sure that most clubs use financial tactics that, if published in a tabloid, would send their fans into panic. For instance, Celtic remortgaging their Lennoxtown training camp. Big deal? No, but if their finances are so rosy then why would they have to? Would it be a big deal if Rangers mortgaged Murray Park and it was published in a tabloid? Who knows? But I can rest assured that if that situation arose then every single fucking newspaper in Scotland would cover the story, not only that but they would paint it all doom & gloom "THE END IS NIGH!" I hear you cry. Realistically, our club is in the middle of the most fucked up financial mess football has seen without administration. Was it CW's fault? No. Did he know this when he bought the club? Yes. Does that mean he has a plan? I certainly HOPE so. Does that mean he should reveal his plan? Fuck no. When your cards are down in poker you don't tell everyone the cards you have, unless you're a fantastic liar or a complete fucking spastic. You bide your time, wait your turn & play your hand. I know we aren't talking about poker here, but I'm pretty sure this is the tactic CW is employing. All we can do is HOPE that he has a plan, like he says he does. TRUST that he is a Rangers fan & wants what is best for the club, like he says he does. Oh aye & stop reading bullshit stories in the tabloids that every single one of us have torn to shreds for bullshitting over the past year at least. You can't call them liars one minute & then hail them as the people who reveal the truth the next. At the end of the day, they don't know the figures behind our club, no-one does. But they do know the figures behind the amount of newspapers they sell which, I'll bet, is far scarier for their livelihood than that of Rangers future.

I watched that interview, they have used serious selective quoting here. He was actually quite humble. Still a ginger cunt though.
-
Jelavic confirmed 4 and a half years.
-
F365 says MacMillan deal has now been confirmed as a done deal. Fucking shameful.
-
Still no reason for him to be fourth choice in his natural position when 1. is injured, 2. is shite, & 3. is a CB. Poor piece of business no matter how it's painted, in my opinion.
-
Play him. After Whittaker's start to this season he would be my first choice RB. Of course I'm no expert & I don't see him train or his attitude, but if they wanted to sell him then surely even playing him purely for sake of having him in the shop window to increase his price would have been a better option?
-
I'm actually raging at selling MacMillan, such a waste. Selling players like him for dirt cheap, in my opinion, renders Murray Park as fucking useless.
-
Is this a re-mortgage on their training camp? Or is this a charge that monies have not been paid?
-
I can't believe the amount of people that are buying into this story. If the season ticket thing is a scheme that most clubs use & that was in force before CW then how can this possibly be a discredit to him? The people attacking this man are the very people who helped put our club where it is now. I, for one, will judge him once the tax case is settled. Until then its sensationalism vs semantics.
-
Yes, but the Everton offer is reported to be 8m, which is 1m more, but less money up front. Today should be interesting, is clubfoot still injured?
-
How much did we get for Boumsong? Hahaha.
-
Because it is 1m more than West Ham offered.
-
If we sell Jelavic for an undisclosed fee I won't be bothered, we rejected an offer of 7.2m & I would have taken that. So IF we accept anything then surely it needs to be higher. 3.2m up front is what I'm hearing about the Everton offer with 4.8m add-ons. Pure rumour of course. If the add-ons are monthly installments then it could work out well by offsetting some of the wages over the season. Give Ally at least 75% of the upfront 3.2m & we will have a decent amount to sign 2 players, of course low valye players are a bit hit & miss I think we really need to take the risk.

I think the difference between Aluko & Weiss is maturity. Weiss just wanted to play & excite the fans, Aluko seems capable of reading the game & isn't greedy on the wing, if he sees an opportunity then he will pass the ball, Weiss was sometimes guilty of being like McGeady.. skin 3 or 4 players on the wing & then rather than cross it into the box he'd turn back and try to skin them again.
-
Aye, there's a difference between confidence & arrogance.
