  1. I've been hearing about Jig saying this all day. I'd never slate his performances ever again if this was the case. That is playing for the badge & with honour.
  2. An electrician in my work was banging on about this to me this morning in work, the guy was a complete cunt. Was spouting all this shit to me & not listening to any of my replies, he just kept saying "where are you getting this information and I'll google it right now" while pulling out his stolen iphone. I was close to losing my job today because of the shit this guy was coming out with, I left the room he was in and he followed me, banging on about double contracts and how Celtic have never done wrong & we should be stripped of titles & how he only became a Celtic fan because 3 Rangers fans gave him a doin' outside Ibrox.. Most definitely the most ridiculous Celtic fan I've ever had the displeasure of meeting.
  3. Does that mean the end of that annoying song "just cant get enough"?
  4. I think that at about 6pm yesterday evening the Scottish press realised that they were not going to have any stories to print about Rangers redundancies. I would presume that some, if not all, would have had 2+ pages reserved for the sensational 'exclusives' about players leaving Rangers and I'm sure they would have had pictures of the titanic with a Rangers emblem and a liferaft at the side with ex-players inside & Mackay swimming in the distance.. Plan B would have been to fill these reserved pages with something that would sell the papers & unfortunately for us the stories that filled the pages with "alleged" information and "presumed" facts. Whilst the information that did appear in todays newspapers COULD be true, I'd say it's a safe bet that they were just filling the pages that were meant for "Glasgow Rangers - the beginning of the end" with any rumours they may have heard & then bulked the rest up for sensationalism.. as always.
  5. How come a debate wasn't prompted when Motherwell or Dundee went into administration?
  6. Scottish Premier League chief executive Neil Doncaster has revealed all 12 top-flight clubs will meet on Monday to discuss existing rules relating to financial fair play. On the agenda will be a debate over whether changes have to be made to the rule book, which could mean "tougher" rules being rubber-stamped at a general meeting. Rangers were forced into administration on 14th February over an unpaid tax bill of £9million accrued since Craig Whyte's takeover. The financial crisis at Ibrox has already had an impact on other SPL clubs. Dunfermline are owed £84,000 in ticket revenue from their match with Gers on 11th February and revealed on Thursday they had to part pay the club's February salaries to all staff, including management and players, with the remainder to be paid within 10 days. Doncaster wrote in his blog on the SPL's official website: "It is important that we keep the whole issue of financial fair play firmly in the spotlight. "Improving our rule book and making it less likely that our member clubs end up in financial difficulty in the first place should continue to be a priority. "And with this in mind, all 12 SPL member clubs will meet this Monday. "On the agenda will be our existing rules on financial fair play and whether our current rule book needs improvement in the face of the financial challenges being faced by several member clubs. "If agreement in principle is reached, this could mean our clubs voting on new, tougher, rules on financial fair play at a general meeting, either in April or July this year. "It will be a difficult debate. But it is vital that we do not shy away from these issues or bury our heads in the sand. "It may be uncomfortable to address these thorny problems head-on. But the long-term health and prosperity of Scottish football demands that we do just that." Logic UEFA's financial fair play regulations require clubs to balance their books over the medium term, not spend more than they earn, and operate within their financial means. "Whether the precise system of measurement used by UEFA is perfect is a moot point," Doncaster added. "But the logic behind the principle however is, I think, broadly sound. And it is this same principle that explains the position of the SPL. "To turn a blind eye, to allow clubs to continually fail to make prompt payments as they fall due, would be to allow those clubs to gain an unfair sporting advantage over all those other clubs that pay their players, the taxman and other clubs on time. "That is one of the reasons why, whenever the SPL receives a request from players to adjudicate on their contracts, it has a duty to do so. "The fundamental basis of any football league is that all member clubs are treated equally."
  7. So if the £3.6m is found to be the clubs money then I'd assume that we only need 900k to secure the team until the end of the season?
  8. I think sacking injured players would be ok. They are still required to attend the club every day for physio & remediation. I don't see much difference between an injured player "working" and a fringe player attending everyday even though the chances are that they wont play. I don't see it as the same as you or I taking 2 weeks off work & lying on the couch watching Jeremy Kyle.
  9. Great player & model pro. Has all the makings of Davie Weir.
  10. Welcome back Dutchy.
  11. No, but he has made it clear that he likes to make money, not spend it.
  12. Aye.. the dugout.
  13. So he must be worth the £3000m afterall since it says that in the link above plus it says he's launched a £300m buyout for another company. Could we be so lucky?
  14. I thought we did & failed? Or at least failed to use them.
  15. What cash has he taken so far? Where are the threats so far?
  16. I remember watching highlights not so long ago of a Scotland match with Gordon in the studio & everyone in the studio, including Gordon, seemed to think that as soon as he recovers from his injury he would be number 1 again.
  17. Was just about to post asking how the DR seems to have these exclusive stories if this was the case!
  18. Fuck them, they know that £300k at this point in time can be the difference between a job & redundancy for staff & players at Ibrox & they know it would be beneficial for them next season if we lose more players now than we need to. If they don't honour the agreement I say we ban them from Ibrox all next season.
  19. Don't get me wrong, if this is true & gets us out of debt to Lloyd's & ticketus then Yee-fucking-ha. On the future though no one will trust our club, so we'd best hope for a rich owner/consortium or be living well within our means.
  20. We owe Lloyd's nothing. Ticketus 'loaned' us 24m secured against future season ticket money. D&P are arguing that under Scots law you cannot use someone's personal rights as a security. In this case that is the rights of the season ticket holder. If they are correct then we owe Ticketus nothing. Quite clever really.
  21. I have to laugh everytime I read 'the blue knight's.
  22. Or maybe a generic contract of employment that you just fill in the blanks for name, salary, length, clauses etc.
  23. Quite possibly. Wasn't he the Gareth Bale of yesteryear until his injury?
  24. They wont have to know the salaries but surely they would check the legalities? Just remembered the EBT'S, so they clearly don't check them. Perhaps they should?
  25. Wasn't Buffel frozen out for a pay to play clause? I'm sure I remember someone saying it was cheaper to replace him than pay £1.5m to play him once more?
