  1. Yeah they both lost to a distinctly average Celtic squad, imo. MON was a revelation for them & we really should have beaten them easily with our squads, imo of course. Todays Celtic is a very good squad being run by an inexperienced manager.
  2. I speak on behalf of myself only, but if Rangers went bust I wouldn't support anyone else. The SFA would forever be the governing body that let my team down, the SPL would forever be the league that let us drift out in stormy seas & all the other clubs would forever be the cunts that watched us sink & tried to sell us a rope.
  3. He'll be a great captain for us one day.
  4. They were also up against a far weaker Celtic, imo.
  5. I can't take them seriously when they refer to themselves as the blue knights.
  6. I couldn't agree more Danny. I'm as patriotic as they come, I love my country, I love everything Scottish. However, in this situation I can't see how we can stay here. We are being told that we are not needed here, then we are being told that we can't leave.. & then we are being told that we will face harsh penalties if we remain. I for one would embrace a new adventure. I would find new stadia enchanting. I'd appreciate the banter rather than hatred. We might not win titles every year, but that would make winning them all the more sweeter when we do. I don't want to devalue any trophies we have, but when we celebrate do we celebrate achieving the merit, the trophy, the history? Or do we celebrate Celtic not winning it? When we are knocked out of a home cup can anyone, hand on heart, say they were upset that Dundee won the cup 2 seasons ago? I was just happy that Celtic never won it. Bring on a new adventure. No one is bigger than the club, & that includes the SPL.
  7. I thought the anti-English, anti-British, anti-poppy element of Celtic was the main factor behind us being rejected?
  8. Are you fucking kidding me? What Lennon done last season was bring the game into disrepute. What have we done? Been bought by an alleged crook.. and under their oh so innocent watch. Cunts.
  9. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/mar/08/rangers-disrepute-craig-whyte? Rangers must defend an accusation of bringing Scottish football into disrepute after being hit with that charge by the country's football association. The move by the Scottish FA came after the independent inquiry it set up into events at Ibrox reported its findings on Thursday. The association's board, meanwhile, has deemed that Craig Whyte, the Rangers chairman and majority shareholder, is not a fit and proper person to serve within Scottish football. Rangers' administrators, Duff and Phelps, hope to convince the Scottish FA's judicial panel at a hearing this month that the club should not be heavily punished for offences committed under an earlier regime. If they fail to do that unlimited sanctions are available. "In broad terms, we believe there are mitigating factors and we hope to demonstrate the distinction between the club and the actions of any individuals," said Paul Clark, Rangers' joint administrator. Stewart Regan, the Scottish FA's chief executive, said: "The report submitted by Lord Nimmo Smith, having been considered fully by the board, highlights a number of other potential rule breaches by the club and its owner." Specifically, Rangers have not submitted audited accounts for the last financial year. The SFA is yet to pass judgment on allegations that Rangers players held second contracts during the club's historical use of employee benefit trusts (EBT) but is questioning whether it should have been made aware of the EBT scheme. Rangers also failed to disclose to the game's governing body at the time of his appointment as chairman that Whyte had served a ban from being a company director between 2000 and 2007. Regan added: "It is the belief of the board, taking into account the prima facie evidence presented today, that Mr Craig Whyte is not considered to be a fit and proper person to hold a position within association football. We will be writing to Mr Whyte in relation to those findings and shall seek a response within seven days." A spokesman for Whyte said: "Until that [the letter] happens and he has had an opportunity to consider Lord Nimmo Smith's findings, it would be premature to make any comment." Rangers have been ordered to pay Dundee United the £61,000 in ticket revenue due from a recent Scottish Cup tie or the SFA will impose further penalties. Clark said the administrators believe Whyte cannot enforce his current status as Rangers' secured creditor. Clark added that he is confident significant wage cuts among the Rangers playing staff can finally be agreed before the weekend, with the club looking to save £1m a month. A four-day hearing from 30 March will determine whether Rangers are due £3.6m, earlier controlled by Whyte, which was seized last week at the insistence of a court from a lawyer's account. Other parties, including two companies linked to Whyte, are also claiming all or part of those funds.
  10. He has taken his first managerial job at one of the biggest clubs in the world, with one of the highest expediencies to win. Perhaps he is out of his depth, perhaps he's not. You certainly cannot decide that after 1 season in charge. Especially a season with all of the off-field problems we have had, especially with a threadbare squad. We were 9 points ahead, with no off-field problems. As soon as we started having off-field problems it all changed. He made some dodgy tactical judgements, who hasn't? Smith did, Levein did, Fergie did, Wenger did. Who doesnt play players out of position? Smith did, Levein did, Fergie did, Wenger did. Hindsight is a wonderful tool, but at the end of the day it's his first year, he will make mistakes. Personally he has shown me enough that with no off-field problems & a squad of players then he will get results. He has walked into, at this moment in time, the hardest managerial job in the world. He deserves a chance. 1 season is not a chance.
  11. Harsh. We OWE it to him to give him another chance.
  12. Valid points Bears. Only time will tell.
  13. I wonder what happened to dignified silence? :fish:
  14. Except Dave King invested 20m.
  15. I like point 8 about re-investing the £20m into the club if he can successfully sue DM.
  16. Gregg Wylde says he would never consider joining Celtic, having been released from his contract with city rivals Rangers. The 20-year-old winger walked away from his deal on Tuesday, taking the step to forgo his wages in order to try and save the jobs of backroom staff at the club. Having played youth football with Celtic, the prospect of him crossing the city again was also raised. With 47 Rangers appearances under his belt, however, Wylde says there is no chance he would link up with Neil Lennonâ??s side. "There's no chance I would sign for Celtic, " Wylde told the Scottish Sun."The last thing Sandy Jardine said to me before I left was 'Don't ever sign for Celtic'. "It's something I would never consider. I don't want to be disrespectful but I don't think that's something I could ever do to Rangers. "The Rangers fans have been great to me, especially since the decision was taken that I should leave. I wouldn't want to turn my back on them. "How could I leave Rangers when they are in this state and go and sign for their big rivals?" Wylde and Mervan Celik both agreed to voluntarily leave Rangers and the young Scot says it was an easy decision for him to make. "It was dragging on and on so I just decided to put my hand up to go to try and save some jobs," Wylde said. "I just wanted to help the club. "There are people in there who need a wage more than I do right now. "My wages might not save a lot of money in the grand scheme of things but I'm just glad to be able to help in some way. "It's over for me now. I've got to be honest and say it's a massive relief." ref: http://sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-premier/rangers/299992-gregg-wylde-no-chance-id-sign-for-celtic/?
  17. Well at least he's not suing the club like everyone else.
  18. This man impressed me more than any on that show, the kids are the future afterall & he said all the right things. Is Hutchinson Vale a school?
  19. Aye, the William Patrick chase their books until they are returned!
  20. Overall opinion: Poor choice even mentioning the current Rangers situation, as one of the English guys pointed out, we can't comment until we have facts. Some really great points about where we want to be. The Hutchinson Vale guy should be on the SFA. Merging the associations is a great idea IMO. The playoff thing would be a crowd pleaser. Good to so many WILLING to discuss, calmly, how to move forward. On a sidenote, Levein aside, do any Scots work for the SFA or SPL? :fish:
  21. It is poor business mate, unfortunately for us.
  22. Was that the one where the current Cumbernauld college was? If so I remember it vaguely, usually Christmas time, my Grampa was a bus driver & they had Christmas nights for the kids in there.
  23. BH, I recognise you from somewhere. Are you from East Dunbartonshire area?
  24. I was thinking more along the lines of writing an even-sided, objective article & submitting it to a disagreeing editor who then alters it hugely.
  25. Rod Petrie's voice rising an octave at the end of every sentence puts me off what he is saying.
