  1. What evidence is there that such a thing exists? I've heard at least a dozen different versions of what this tape might contain...is this our Roswell?
  2. Interesting little story today about Gary Withey being involved in a London based takeover of St Mirren, not sure if this has been discussed, couldn't see a thread. Could Withey have been trying to acquire St Mirren and their SPL share as a backup to Whyte's activities with Rangers?
  3. The elephant in the room has now trampled on us, it was always there but some people chose to ignore it and hope it would just go away. Someone has taken steps to deal with it, and some will choose to ignore that fact also. Not me.
  4. His biggest crime so far has been attracting an SFA charge so far...unless you are one of these people that forget what kind of position we were in pre-Admin with HMRC looming. No thanks, I'd swap our position now for that 100 times out of 100.
  5. It's all about perception, what we think of Craig Whyte now may not be how we think of him in 6 months time...I'm not going to say i knew how all this was going to pan out but I wasn't far off. There's still a lot of things to achieve before we can relax and look forward to just supporting the team but we've reached the turning point that has been needed for years, long before Craig Whyte was seen or heard.
  6. The Sheffield Weds fans lovingly referred to them as Cloud 9 Sports during their tenure, it was apparently a bit of a car crash takeover.
  7. "It is up to some people to get a grip of themselves and behave in the professional manner which myself, the club and my players give to them." Aye good one Neil, were you being professional when you lost the rag every other game and accused every man and his dog of conspiring against you? Cock
  8. "Alex, While I applaud a non Glasgow based take on events I would urge you to consider the motives of those who are presenting these rumours (double contracts, non admin status etc). I'm not sure how much you understand about the culture up here but I'm sure you are aware of the simmering hatred that exists on both sides. As an avid Rangers fan and one who has been "put through the wringer" lately it occurs to me that some people will stop at nothing to see their ideal scenario unfold....that Glasgow Rangers FC cease to exist. I don't exaggerate when I say that it has become somewhat of an obsession amongst the hardcore zealots who follow Celtic. Among these are Phil Mac Ghiolla Bain, Rangers Tax Case, Mark McNally (of the Mirror) and countless other rabid bloggers and twitterrers. Careers have been tarnished by associating with these type of people. There is no doubt that Rangers future now looks a lot more secure than say, three weeks ago when Duff and Phelps rode into town. This has only served to exacerbate the situation between rival groups of fans. The tone in recent days has been nothing less than sinister. I would be happy to discuss any aspect of this at your leisure if you feel it will help give some context to your programme. Rangers fans want solid, indisputable facts to be unearthed from any investigation and will, by and large, accept any findings graciously even if they are seen as bad news. What we don't want is for you or any other media types to be swallowed up in the agenda's of others. Even if these others present themselves as seekers of truth and justice. I look forward to reading and seeing what comes from your involvement and trust that you will act with as much impartiality as your reputation suggests. Yours Sincerely"
  9. Ignorance cannot be an excuse here, they are complicit whether knowingly or not. A rumour was doing the rounds yesterday that one of Craig Whyte's relations is on the board of Octopus...far fetched in all probability but it does make you wonder.
  10. Looks like Channel 4 and their Chief Correspondent Alex Thomson are planning a no holds barred investigation into the Rangers takeover and subsequent goings on. He has asked Rangers fans to write to him and give their views on this email address - alex.thomson@itn.co.uk. I've already sent mine in (I'll post it if anybody is interested)). He seems to be being led by Mad Phil, RTC et al and that worries me big time. If you are on Twitter you can read what he's been saying on his timeline https://twitter.com/#!/alextomo NB check his followers and who follows him....only Mad Joe O'Rourke is missing.
  11. Where's the Carlos Slim option?
  12. The court hearing started today, it could have a major impact on the BK's and any other bid. I'm hoping that Ticketus are declared non creditor status and in which case they will have no choice but to either buy the club or sue Craig Whyte for their money back.
  13. Good read Rebo, lot's of good points in there but the most relevant I'd say is the perception of what is and what isn't "wrong". I will never defend the signing policy and let's be clear....we had a de facto signing policy of not signing openly Catholic players (although we did have a few low profile examples dotted throughout history) however I think it became a two way street later on with Catholics simply not wanting to be seen to join the Rangers and so it continued. The Bilbao example is interesting given the confused ones admiration of Basque separatist politics and of ETA's use of terrorism as a bargaining tool, I guess they feel a kind of symbiosis with these peoples. You could be forgiven for thinking that indeed there are parallels between Basque and Irish Republican but it is only a cosmetic one. There are generations of Basque descended people living and working in the other Spanish regions and they do not feel the need to grotesquely distort their identity to such an extent that it becomes a weapon to be utilised whenever they feel marginalised or discriminated against. Anybody who did use their Basque roots in that way would be castigated by their families and made to feel like traitors to those roots. They tend to keep it very much "in house" and choose to respect their host region rather than bite the hand that feeds "morder la mano que alimenta". Bilbao's signing policy was widely criticised in Spain and was the subject of many political debate but the feeling was very much that in the Basque reqion they can do what they want providing it does not spill over the Pyreness into King Juan Carlos's realm. So it follows that the club's fans sing whatever they want in Bilbao but when travelling to away games the songs are not sung that might upset their hosts. Compare and contrast.... I am of Spanish (Andalucian) descent, (my grandmother was from Cadiz) and so I take more than a passing interest in Spanish culture and politics and this contrast fascinates me. Question is - At what point did it become acceptable for Republican/Catholic views to be used as weapons? Does it not tell you that at some point all respect for their precious roots have been lost? And when did it become something to be ashamed of being a Scots Protestant? Answers on a postcard.
  14. He's also like catnip to the dhims, he drives them to new heights of lunacy.
  15. Classic stuff! Reminds me of the time I decided it would be a good idea to drive down London Road with my colours on one Saturday afternoon only to be confronted with the crowd from Parkhead walking up towards me..... my heart sank as I seen them all looking at me, I would have ran them all over if they had had a go at the car. Best not to let it get to you, I can listen and shout at the radio but 10 minutes later it's just funny. The madness is audible in their voices.
  16. I know and I despise the entire station but now and again it is interesting to get a peek into the diseased psyche of the haters. I always have a good scrub and shower afterwards.
  17. I have taken to listening to Clyde 1 for a laugh, it's like a who's who of insane bampots but very recently ie since some positive stuff has been forthcoming it seems the tone has again taken a real sinister turn. I listened to an older guy phone up and say that he wasn't a football fan but came from one side of "the divide"....that disturbed me for a start, who was he representing then? The Catholic faith? He then goes on to talk about Rangers having a sectarian signing policy blah blah before declaring that it's worrying that there is such a clamour to save a "morally bankrupt" football club! I was gobsmacked....is it now acceptable to have a go at Rangers just because you are a Catholic? Isn't that the very definition of bigotry?
  18. Totally agree big fella, at least Craig Whyte had planned to shaft Ticketus rather than invite into bed for a cuddle.
  19. Ticketus wouldn't be anywhere near the Blue Knights if their sphincter wasn't twitching like a rabbit's nose over the validity of their £24.4m advance to a man who at that point did not legally own the rights to the product sold. I can't get over that fact. Paul Murray's plan looks to revolve around using Ticketus as the main underwriter of a takeover with the rest of the dozen or so wealthy chaps sitting "in reserve". The point was made by RBR I think in another thread that in effect Paul Murray and the BK's are attempting an only slightly less cut throat version of what Craig Whyte did...financing the purchase of the shares with "leveraged" money. Isn't there a whiff of hypocrisy here?
  20. Do you think we can come through CL qualifiers in two years time? Unless money is suddenly injected and the squad radically overhauled we'll be easy prey for the Malmo's and Maribor's of the qiualifiers. If we do go down the Newco route we won't get near Europe for min 3 seasons, either way I think Euro football is four or five season away.
  21. He's in my house trying to sell me the Empire State Building for £50, he say's he's just bought it for a pound.
  22. We won't play in Europe for the next couple of seasons even if we do finish high enough to be put forward for a CL or EL qualifier so the European football is moot in my view. The big prize would be a crack at the Premier League, I would swap 20 years of European football to be hosting Man Utd, Arsenal etc every other week.
  23. I think we've all been through the majority of emotions over the past few weeks, from fear of liquidation to hope to anger and all in the same day sometimes. I'm now fairly comfortable with where we're at since the players very nobly accepted the wage cuts and reading between the lines of D+P's statements they are quite comfortable that we've been stabilised at least until the end of the season and until new owners can be identified and installed. The Blue Knights and their Utopian fan schemes fill me with dread though, fans shouldn't run their own clubs they make irrational decisions and are too easily divided and conquered. The Ticketus involvement put the final nail in the coffin for me. Had they not been facing a battle to recover their £24.4m "purchase" of season tickets they wouldn't be anywhere near. It's that simple. The AEG bid (if there is indeed one imminent) is the most positive thing I can conceive of happening, a huge global organisation with interests in the right areas of Sport, Media, Entertainment and a solid history of improving companies they own. Ibrox stadium would be an attractive acquisition for them on it's own but when you factor in the chance to own a massive football club at a knock down price I can see why they would want to at least look at us. Let's hope we've turned the corner and start to see more positive stuff being said about our club. We deserve a break don't we?
  24. Thanks Dutchy, I miss these things because I'm a conscientious objector to the tabloids.
  25. The mutant's public enemy number 1 is now Jim Traynor and he's playing up to that. Traynor should just publish his evidence that Lawell lied about the ticket money agreement and expose the lot of them as idiots.
