  1. 4-0 now...poor poor side. Only disappointed for Jordan McMillan he should have stayed and been our right back for years to come.
  2. Dunfermline 3-0 nil down to Hivs. Cheerio John.
  3. If I had the inclination and the contacts to pull it off the scene is set to conduct an Operation Tango style event on at least some of the Scottish media here..all It would take is a cousin from Chatanooga and some ripping yarns about Mr Miller's social life. Tell them he's a devout catholic and his motivation for buying Rangers is to spread the message of dignity, honour and respect that RFC embodies to his brethren and countrymen in the US of A.
  4. The football creditors rule doesn't apply in Scotland. Yet....
  5. I think it's hilarious how throughout this whole saga, the Sports media have gone out of their way to tell us that they aren't Tax or Business experts but the first time something positive happens all of a sudden they're experts on Newco's Corporate Law and Tax Evasion.
  6. Good point Erga, it's also worth noting that Craig Whyte came out with this figure so half it and divide it by 3 and you'll be nearer the truth.
  7. This is the bit that worries me....is he (and D7P) saying that just to make it look less of a hatchet job?
  8. In my lifetime I've seen 9 in a row, a UEFA Final, 18 titles, 14 Scottish Cups and 19 League Cups. A few years without won't shale my devotion one little bit.
  9. There is no new HMRC rule that allows them to go after the Newco for the Oldco's tax debt, that is an invention by those bastions of sporting integrity - Celtic fans. There is however a ruling going through courts and Westminster that allows HMRC to ask for a bond of the predicted tax burden of the Newco up front. If you think that Whyte racked up £15m+ in 9 months then it's safe to say this could be £20m per year. That would be a massive deterrent a prospective new owner but thankfully we should have our Newco done and dusted before it becomes law.
  10. So it then doesn't matter who is in control and who tries to negotiate with HMRC? Why then do you have a problem with Miller side stepping the issue altogether?
  11. In 5 or more years time yes. It's going to take us that long to build a team capable of winning the SPL.
  12. The debt lies with Rangers PLC where it is now. Miller's incubator newco will have (in legal terms) nothing to dow with Rangers PLC but will own all it's assets. A new owner (Miller for example) will have no obligation to and no power to force Rangers PLC to sort out the debt but the creditors (HMRC Ticketus et al) will obviously be pushing for it. Rangers PLC will have to pay the Admin's and legal costs and what is left will be offered up in a CVA pot.
  13. How will all this affect the quality and size of the squad? Putting individual bidders and runners aside, I think we can all agree that we are going to have to get used to a much diminished group of players for at least the next couple of campaigns but how will this pan out? Here is my take... Firstly the following has to be taken into account: 1) - The players who accepted wage cuts will go straight back to full pay in June 2) - Some of those player MAY have clauses inserted in their contracts which give them the right to leave on a FREE or at a pre-agreed transfer fee. 3) - Whoever ends up in control will have to reduce or wipe out the alleged £10m per year trading deficit. Given the above and assuming we are in the SPL at the start of season 2012/13 AND the transfer embargo is suspended or removed on appeal (this is the likely outcome in my opinion) then it's not hard to see that we are going to lose the majority of our current first team in the summer. This will hopefully exclude young players just breaking through like McCabe, Ness, Hutton, Perry, Little. Best case scenario is that we keep a few low earners, those who are in their final season or two or those who wouldn't attract a transfer fee and who fit into either of the previous categories like Bocanegra, Aluko Goian and Healy. Anybody who doesn't fit this criteria will be I'm afraid sold. This will include: McGregor Wallace Edu Davis Whittaker Bedoya Naismith Lafferty It could be argued that in any event this scenario is still pretty probable, worst case scenario is that we start 2012/13 in SFL Div 3 with a transfer embargo in force. The only difference is that we would then have zero chance of keeping Bocanegra, Aluko, Goian etc and we would only be able to replace them with U18 players. Either way we are going to have to get very creative when trying to add to our squad. This should mean that we scout young and up and coming players throughout the continent, taking on U18 players from Scandinavia, England, The US and of course Scotland. Could we compete with a squad full of existing young players, new young players and (transfer embargo excluded) free's, loans and those coming with small transfer fees? I believe we could. Whatever the state of the squad at the start of next season it is going to be a tough time for us and a huge amount of adjusting expectation is going to have to be done by us the fans. We're almost at the end of one horrific saga and I'm afraid another one is just about to start. I only hope that the terrific support the current squad (and management) have had will continue even when we see a team of young 'Gers take the field and possibly struggle.
  14. The McGlone and Kelly show was hilarious, contrast and compare with the Rangers chaps....different league.
  15. This tells us that what BM is planning isn't a new thing and UEFA are very much aware of incubator newco's and hybrid liquidation.
  16. Brian, thanks for patronising almost the entire forum but here's a simple question for you.... Given all that you have said above and UEFA's pretty clear ruling on Newco's, who do you want to take over the club and what makes things any different for them?
  17. This "turnaround" guy seems to actually have a decent track record of turning around companies, al of which it has to be said are in the US and most are related to his tow truck business in some way. He has no history of asset stripping or of liquidating businesses. We shall wait and see.
  18. He's been talking to the SFA/SPL since day one and from all accounts has made it clear that he will walk away and make it public why he walked away should they continue to play hard ball. Their rules don't cover the Miller scenarion (incubator co) so basically they can't do anything more than what they have (pending appeal).
  19. Really guys? I think it's a terrific gesture that acknowledges the amazing support the team have had through a very difficult period. We have truly been a 12th man at times this season.
  20. Have never and will never post or view FF, doesn't sound like a place I want to be involved with at all. I was delighted to stumble across Gersnet and find mainly reasonable and sensible fans without all the baggage and hysteria that exists elsewhere.
  21. Well blow me, never saw that coming :-)
  22. It's gone beyond supporting a friendly bid, it's now as 90210 very succinctly put it's about one last ditch attempt to secure what was promised and to hell with what might be best for the club. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth...to the extent that I wonder if I want to remain a member of the RST.
  23. Now ridiculous talk of a pitch invasion tonight has surfaced on a certain forum...have the toys well and truly came out the pram?
  24. Excellent, glad someone has finally clarified this point. It does make sense and I can now see why D&P have been saying that Whte's shares are an irrelevance. D&P have obviously had this in mind since the first mention of "hybrid liquidation". It raises a few questions though.... Why can't BK and the BK's (sounds like bad jazz combo) now do exactly the same? What is to stop any of the other bidders Ng, Cliud9 etc) from doing that too? Where would this leave Craig Whyte with regards Ticketus and HMRC? Where would this leave us with regard Ticketus and HMRC?
