If we are denied access to any league in Scotland then we are surely well within our rights to apply for any league in our region of Europe. UEFA would be compelled to assist us.

Lawwell's influence on the media should not be underestimated.

I know Pirlo has been getting all the plaudits and his Panenka style penalty probably puts him up there as the best player in the tournament but his compadre Marchissio has been outstanding for me. He's done the leg work for Pirlo and let him have some time on the ball. Top player.

Green is the man in the hotseat, the question is did Duff and Phelps engineer it so that he was the only option? That would be both unethical and illegal. It was Keith Jackson Reebs and he spoke very well, even to the point of talking about Rangers and the fans potential victims. It is astonishing how quickly and easily these "facts" have become common currency when discussing us...it reeks of timothy and his clandestine malice.

He's the one good thing that the SFA have done in the past 2 years however I imagine he will get disillusioned with Scotland and it's small minded attitudes soon enough and go elsewhere.

It's degrading that we want to be part of such a poor league set up with such hateful fans, the last few days I've been of a mind to give up on Scottish Football altogether. I'll never abandon Rangers but it's getting to the point that we're on a hiding to nothing. It's not just the fans, the media (or sections of them) have done a job on us. They've got words like "cheating", "wrongdoing" and best of all "sporting integrity" into general use when discussing Rangers. Even the lack of facts or evidence to back these up hasn't stopped them. All we've got left is each other and our support is as fractured as it's ever been. I'm not quite there yet but, I can certainly sympathise with how the OP is feeling.

More importantly where does this leave the clubs (5 so far) who have come out and said they'll vote against us? They'd be cutting their own throats, held to ransom by bitter hate filled fans to punish a club and set of fans who may well be victims of fraud. It's starting to look feintly ridiculous...add to that the various cases and punishments the SFA/SPL have been trying to throw at us and it starts to look a bit sinister.

If one fan sets foot in Tannadice for the forseeable future they should be rightly condemned as traitors to their club. No more funding those who wish us dead.

I would say weak and ignorant Dutchy rather than stupid, it's no coincidence that the regions of the world where religion is most prevalent are also the ones where basic education and scientific knowledge are denied to the people. Africa, South America and most worrying of all America. As you say, most Atheists are Atheists because they've read the Bible rather than because they haven't. My favourite little sketch in Father Ted describes it very well....Ted is asking Dougal how he's getting on with his Bible studies at the seminary and Dougal says "Really good Ted, but I'm having a few problems with some of it". We shouldn't judge the sustainability of Rangers by the previous regimes follies. It's perfectly feasible to run a successful Rangers on a break even basis, Charles Green certainly seems to think so and so did Bill Miller and Bill Ng. How long you could pull it off for is the question along with how competitive would we be? Good article Max.
