I'm going out on a limb here but the implication of some of Di Stefano's statements tell me that not only did Regan and Lawell know about Craig Whyte pre-takeover but specifically allowed him to take control knowing what they knew. From innocent onlookers to culpably active in one fell swoop. Fingers crossed he gets to the bottom of it.

Whatever the average playing staff budget is in Div3, we will be paying double or triple and that will make it nigh on certain that we will walk Div3 and Div2 and then begin building an SPL squad for Div1. As long as the fans support it, we'll breeze through the lower divisions. Fiorentina did it at the first time of asking straight back to Serie A if I'm not mistaken.

Surreal Madrid! I grew up in Airdrie and used to attend a few games so I'm glad that they've been punted up a division but I NEVER EVER imagined that they'd eb two leagues above us...bring on Peterheid.

dump us in Div 3 and we will rise again-Gough

Totally agree, clear out the lot of them. -

They won't have a huge fanbase to fall back on...any club facing our kind of situation (other than the top half of the SPL) would struggle to remain even in a Newco scenario. -
These diddy wee teams sure have an over inflated sense of their own importance lately eh? Clyde....fffs. The same club that have skirted with administration and financial strife for years and now play their football in Cumbernauld having sold the land their stadium sat on to stay afloat. Shoot me now.

RST Calls for SFA Board to Remove Stewart Regan from CEO
Juancornetto replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
If nothing else Regan is guilty of extreme negligence. Having been made aware of Craig Whyte's dastardly deeds as long ago as last year and choosing to ignore it, that alone should have seen him walk but when you also consider that he took no action whatsoever to try to head this crisis off by drafting new rules and regulations for clubs who's corporate vehicles cease to trade it's really , really puzzling that he's still in his position and seems to have the authority to push the big red button. If this helps even a little to push the Board to act then it should be applauded. The fact that the Board contains the Chief Executive of Celtic (and former business associate) is of course neither here nor there. -
Will Celtic fans' beliefs disintegrate once the gloating is over?
Juancornetto replied to calscot's topic in Rangers Chat
The dhims believe the SFA are levering us into Div1 because of some great establishment conspiracy...you can't even begin to tackle this kind of delusion. -
Michael Douglas in full Gordon Gecko mode to play Craig Whyte, Alec Baldwin as Super Ally, Pete Postlethwaite as Charles Green and the Chuckle Brothers as Clarke and Whitehouse.

Rapid Vienna are still owed from Jelavic and that is I believe about to be due for payment however Hearts money for Lee Wallace is not yet due which, makes all the tub-thumping about "stealing money from Scottish Football" seem rather redundant. Just another tactic used by the haters.

He's either an attention seeking fantasist or he knows something that should concern us greatly, there can be no middle ground. What if it turns out he's right? Whyte and Ticketus have melted away into the ether very quickly, the latter parted with £26m apparently. What if we are simply in the middle phase of a conspiracy involving Whyte/Ticketus and Zeus?

We are so culturally removed from Holland that it might as well be on another planet rather than a few hundred miles across the North Sea. What works for them will not work here, we need to find our own system and style of play that works for us. One thing I would like to see Rangers adopt is that from U17's through to the first team we play in the same shape, whether that be a 4-5-1 that can be a 4-3-3 or any other formation that is both hard to beat beat and a threat going forward. The player should adapt to the system rather than the opposite which we have seen from Walter Smith and now McCoist, no more utility players and no more playing layers in three different positions within a few weeks. We've got an opportunity to build an ethos from the ground up and stick to it. I know we don't have the squad to be picky about who plays where but I'm sure there will be 20 players at Auchenhowie every week who can be taught a system and be given time to adapt to it to make it a winning one. To hell with the National team, they will never get it together enough to improve anything. We're sliding down the rankings and will continue to do so.

Giovanni Di Stefano - To buy Rangers FC PLC?
Juancornetto replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Sometimes reality is stranger than fiction, let's hope he digs up some positive attention. UEFA could be looking at his letter and thinking "what the feck is going on over there?". Regan's jaiket is on a shoogly. -
In a normal society and situation BP9's sentiments would be applauded universally and possibly even have been embraced long before now organically however....we do not live in anything like a normal society and our situation has gone way, way past normal. I know it's probably a bit immature but I strongly wish ill upon those who have tried, let's face it, to finish us. Not hurt us or cripple us, they have sought our obliteration from the game and from their twisted view of society. I've detected that some in the game seem to think we are about emerge into a new progressive era in Scottish Football, that our situation has in some way cleansed the leagues of some kind of malaise. Far from it...we are about to enter the next phase of decline in Scottish Football and for me it can't come quick enough. Only at that point will we be able to build something new and progressive, or indeed join with a new league structure, perhaps regionally within Europe and compete in something bigger than the petty jealousy and hatred of the SFA's set up. Like an addict who is managing to barely hold down a job or maintain some kind of veneer of normality, only when he hits rock bottom will he be able to bounce back without the monkey on his back.

Aside from the errant apostrophe and spelling mistake it's a good statement. Glad I'm not the only one who notices things like that.

Truly frightening stuff in those comments, the venom is seeping from my screen.

Rangers members of the English FA ... a wee while back

and owned by the Qatari Royal Family! Meltdown in timmyland of epic proportions. -
That resonated with me, really well written piece.

The most sickening thing about that is using the terrible tragedy of Mark Scott's death to stir up more sectarian hatred. It has become so "normal" to outwardly hate Rangers fans and loyalist culture and group those idealogies together that we are now subject to a kind of inverted bigotry. By accusing us of the very thing that they themselves are in fact the very epitomy of they have managed to pull off a very blunt but effective PR exercise. The witch-hunt that we are in the midst of right now is partly fuelled by it...anti-British pseudo Catholics do not just support Celtic.

We should always be looking for a way out of this cesspit. Just because it's improbable doesn't mean it's impossible. -
My 6 year old daughter could knock together a presentation which would rival CG's effort. Amateur hour is in full swing.

Does anyone else not want other SPL clubs to fold?
Juancornetto replied to Bears's topic in Rangers Chat
They'll blame big bad Rangers for all their woes from here on in anyway so I say let them suffer. It won't be long before one of the SPL clubs goes into admin and then we can ask the kind of questions that were asked of us. The only issue is that Hibs for example haven't won anything since Moses was a boy and so even if they have been running an amazingly complex ponzi scheme for the last 110 years they have gained nothing from it. Only success brings the kind of animosity that we have suffered. -
That "social unrest" comment is straight out of Lawell's book of spin.

I've spoken to a lot of people about this, from die hard season ticket men to guys who go to as many games as they can afford/manage and all of them have said they will attend every match or attend more games than they might have had we been gearing up for another bore fest in the SPL. It will be a novelty at first but how long will the goodwill last? The first season will be fine, it's year two potentially in SFL Div2 that will be the real test. We'll have a budget to sign players capable of winning each league (presuming no transfer embargo) so I don't have any worries on that front The quicker we get back to the top table with our heads held high the better.
