The Rangers Standard - Lessons From History? Apparently Not...
Juancornetto replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
From what I've seen so far most articles are super serious and seem as if they are written more to show off the writers (undoubted) talent than actually hammer home a message. Maybe I'm being too harsh...I'm not sure if my expectation of TRS differs from what the actual purpose of it is. It's a delicate balance to strike between style and substance so I have the utmost respect for you guys for putting the project together. -
The Rangers Standard - Lessons From History? Apparently Not...

I like Bill Murray's stuff, he writes properly interesting articles. I can't help but feel The Rangers Standard is lost up it's own arse though...just my opinion. -
I like Big Gordy but that Gussy Jackson's a prick ;-)

Scumbags and bullies.

I had thought that the BTC appeal was irrelevant to the SPL "dual contracts" investigation but if you think about it...if we are found to NOT have abused the system and that these payments were not salary or renumeration but loans or gifts from a trust fund then it's a moot point regarding contracts surely? Once this red herring is exposed that's it, the games up, no more sticks to beat us with and only the tattered remnants of a Premier League to show for it.
-
Why is it even being discussed? We've had ex Celtic players and current management in the papers giving their views without any fear of reprisal. The conclusion must be that their views are sanctioned at the very top level.

I know for a fact that our signings are being greeted with great displeasure by the Tims (we're allowed to say that now aren't we?). They still think we should be barred from signing anybody at all. -
Can any commision be impartial in Scotland?

This perplexes me. I don't for one second think there is a grand conspiracy against us but I think that individuals in the game have worked together to take full advantage of our situation and cripple us as much as possible. Any organisation, committee or legal body that Lawell has any connection with must be viewed with extreme suspicion. -
It should be a pretty open and shut case, is there documented proof that Rangers players on EBT's were given a second contract or not? I suspect that they already know the answer to this and now they're widening the investigation t dig up any kind of dirt.

Proof positive that Rangers fans have been galvanised by this saga. Not what the protaganists had in mind.
-
Now multiply that by 1000 and you start to get near the level of hatred that the Celtic minded have for us. Green is right to call it as he see's it and the fact he's only been here five minutes, as popcorn teeth, commented only makes it worse.

It doesn't say much for the budding Che Guevara's of the fan groups that Jum Soence is their leader.

Co-incidence that the fable of him "seeking security advice" appears today as well? I think not.

They won't look so out of place in the Regan and Doncaster's new Premier League next season.

He may have had no impact on proceedings or he could have fought off the biggest threat to Rangers history and success there has ever been. Question is, which one was it?

Judging by the response from timmy last night to my tweet about us being victims of bigotry, they sure don't like their biggest weapon being used by Rangers fans. I think we should play the victim card...it's only partially true of course but then so is timmy's version. -
I don't like the BJK nonsense from our fans but I also think that we all need to stop being so precious about this stuff. Abhorrent, terrible things happened at Celtic and a cover up job that Richard Nixon would have been proud of swung into action. We really need to start accepting that bitter enemies will use distasteful weapons on their perceived enemies. This pursuit of a sterile, politically and morally correct society is completely futile. Things can be improved and progress can be made in many ways but we are tribal and feudal by our very nature. If you don't like what is sung or written sometimes - congratulations you're human.

They also had a number of players utilising now illgal LLP tax evading scams during that period, including Mr Lennon.
-
The most interesting part of this is that it seems a common practice by Celtic players during the last 10 years or so to use Tax Avoidance schemes. Players from all over the world all starting to use the same scheme as their team mates and club officials in fact. It's almost as if there was a culture of tax avoidance at Celtic. :-)

There will be serious repercussions if they press ahead with this mark my words. A judge rules that an SFA punishment is unlawful and they ignore him and enforce it anyway, HMRC have not ruled that our use of EBT's is against tax laws yet the SPL conduct an investigation into alleged dual contracts completely in house and publish no findings, and now we have the final straw of them trying to strip titles...something is going to kick off and I will be right in the middle of it when it does. Before someone points out that the SFA and SPL are separate entities, think again. Doncaster and Regan have merged the entities in all but name. they act as one against our club.

The SNP's core voter base are made up of Tartan Army types, Republicans, anti-Unionists and a small portion of people who fit neither category but are pro-Independence for whatever reason. Among the MSP's we have no real friends and Alex Salmond and Bishop Tartaglia are bosom buddies. We've seen MSP's attending Holyrood in Celtic strips and mocking laughter and jokes about Rangers openly heard in Parliamentary sessions. Tell me how we can expect any kind of fairness or assistance from that lot? We're on our own mate. I make no apology for coming across like a conspiracy theorist. Although I don't think there is one central plot here, I'm convinced we are the recipients of the backlash fuelled by many years of pent up anger and simmering hatred. The Catholic/Republican agenda has been pushed so well and for so long that it's become the baseline for any debate. A non-Catholic (like myself and most on here) cannot even criticise an organisation that has been shamed so frequently and seriously for fear of being labelled a bigot. The tide has no turned to the point where we have to either keep our mouths shut or have any statement dismissed as "bile" or "bigotry". At some point it will re-balance but right now we're at the forefront of a groundswell of opinion. Rangers represents all that is bad with the world and it would be a better place without us. No likes us and for the foreseeable future that won't change. Not an easy song to sing that one!

Regan needs to seek a new Korea!

Normally you would go to the law of of the land and seek assistance but then the SFA have shown that for some bizarre reason they don't need to abide by the law of the land. As a last resort you would then petition the Government directly but alas that in Scotland is the SNP which is as likely to be anti-Rangers as the callers to your average football phone in so we really do not have anywhere to turn. UEFA have made it clear that they don't want to intervene in any club v association disputes and even then could we rely on them to grasp the severity of the situation? CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) is the only body who could be seen as powerful enough and far enough removed from the propaganda to make an honest and fair assessment of what has transpired. I've donated to the RFFF in a few ways and I'm sure most of us have and so I would happily see what's left in that pot be used to fund a good QC taking our case to CAS. The allegation would be quite serious...collusion between rival club officials and the governing body of the game in Scotland to prevent Rangers from competing and therefore handing their rivals yearly entry to the CL qualifiers at a potential gain of 10's of millions of pounds. The SPL demanding TV rights for a league out with their sphere of influence would be a secondary allegation.
