I'm in no doubt that Lawell/Reid, Regan and Doncaster are trying to take advantage of us and exact some kind of "revenge" for all the perceived injustices that the Sellick minded have been bleating about forever and in doing that it may well have spread to quite far up the tree but saying that we are "under attack in a cultural war" is taking it too far and starting to creep into the territory of the rabid bheast. -

I enjoy some of Bill McMurdo's blogs but I had to laugh the other day when I read about how we are under attack from the malign forces of the SNP,The Catholic Church, Opus Dei, Newscorp, The Barclay Brothers, Apple, Microsoft and General Motors. We are on the wrong end of a witch-hunt of that there is no doubt but it's one that is contained within Scottish Football and is driven by jealousy, hatred and bigotry. Jealousy from every other set of fans and every other SPL club, Hatred from the Tims and their representatives and Bigotry from the zealots and most twisted mutants out there. I can fully understand fans feeling under siege and being suspicious of every shadow and development in this saga but you still have to retain a sense of perspective. Where will it end? PS Max, I've never been on any other Rangers forum...are you telling me there's a Juanposter out therer? -

I'd just like to point out that I'm not that Davie Bell. -
I wonder if the Goon Brigade are subject to the same treatment at the Methdome? Probably not because the wee souls would squeal discrimination.

Bravo Max, I've felt really uneasy with all this "fuck Scotland" bravado lately. It seems you can't be an Uber Rangers fan or "a good Proddy" (I have no wish to be either btw) if you support Scotland in 2012. We have our own zealots and they have really come to the fore in recent months, my pride in the Rangers support in the way we have pulled together since Feb 14 has taken a huge dip.

President of the SFA since June 2011, Campbell Ogilvie’s role in the governing body’s scramble to retain control of Scottish Football has been at best ambiguous. He finds himself in the strange position of having been the beneficiary of an Employee Benefit Trust (to the tune of £95,000) whilst serving both as a Director of Rangers and Treasurer of the SFA. He is now the figurehead of one of the organisation which has been at the forefront of the EBT crusade. This must cause Stewart Regan some real consternation, after all Ogilvie is technically his superior. Campbell Ogilvie could be the only obstacle that has prevented Regan unleashing the full scale assault on Rangers and our proud history that some expected. Does this explain why Regan has passed the baton (or should that be baseball bat?) to Neil Doncaster in an attempt to both appease those within Hampden’s corridors of power and ensure that Rangers face yet more punishment? Is it a co-incidence that Lord Nimmo Smith, who carried out the SFA’s bidding in imposing an unlawful transfer embargo, now fronts the SPL’s investigation into alleged “double contracts”? Why two bodies supposedly independent of each other would choose to use the same QC could be little more than a co-incidence or it could simply be an attempt to shortcut the process given Lord Nimmo Smith’s familiarity with Rangers and its fiscal affairs. On balance of probability I’d suggest it’s the latter. Is this entirely fair? Does Lord Nimmo Smith’s previous encounter with Rangers (and the negative press caused by it) preclude him from casting a truly independent eye over proceedings? I’m sure you’ll agree it’s at least worthy of some thought. To further illustrate Stewart Regan’s apparent change of attitude he spoke recently of a willingness to “move on” in a response to Charles Green’s recent comments. This in stark contrast to the previous tactic of immediately raising disciplinary proceedings, in an interview he said “I think for Scottish football it's important that we move on and try to restore focus on the football itself”. An admirable thing to say on the face of it however one wonders whether he now feels suitably comforted by the fact that the SPL and Lord Nimmo Smith are now the ones continuing the struggle. Supposing the SPL’s panel do indeed find that Rangers use of EBT’s was contrary to league rules and sanctions are imposed…the furore and attention that would inevitably follow would be focused on the SPL and Neil Doncaster and well away from the SFA. Regan would have avoided confrontation with his President and in effect had his cake and eaten it too. Campbell Ogilvie recently gave his blessing to the re-structuring of Scottish Football, has he also given his blessing to a clumsy, smash and grab style, mugging of league titles Rangers won during his tenure?

Only two of them could be considered as going on to better (not bigger) things...Jelavic and Naismith. Southampton will get relegated. -

I'm coming round to the view that the SNP have actually achieved a fair bit in their time in charge. Infrastructure, prescriptions, uni fees, schools (albeit via PFI's) have all been brought about by the SNP. The question is did they achieve these things BECAUSE we are part of the Union and ultimately funded by Westminster? or Have they been achieved in spite of Westminster? I'll still never vote to break the Union but credit where credits due they have done some things right. The anti-sectarian hysteria not withstanding. -
SPL's independent commission into "EBT payments

Business favours and good turns are being called in left and right to make sure we sustain maximum damage. I heard a whisper earlier that Lord Nimmo was instrumental in the land deal between CFC and GCC. I'm trying to check that out now but cant see any mention of Nimmo in any capacity so it may be nonsense or it may be that he was the inside man in the legal world that smoothed it through. -

He's part of the little clique which includes Harper McLeod, Regan, Lawell and John Reid. Definitely not to be trusted. -

Of course we should have won the league last year after having 10pts deducted and our top scorer sold off in January....and the Olympic 200m and the Ashes. Incredible. -

We owe Scottish Football nothing now. Surely this will mean we are treated with respect and not sneered at by fellow Scottish Football fans any more?

The Glazers NYSE mini float seems to have fallen on it's arse...they're ONLY raising $230m instead of the $400m they were after. Share price is now more like $14 a share rather than the $20 originally expected. The really scary part is that this money was intended to service the EXISTING debt! ...and people think we imploded? If it gets critical it will be an implosion of biblical proportions. -
Guys like Longmuir have nothing to fear from the zealots, he stands head and shoulders above most in the game just now. He commands too much respect from all corners to have to worry about petty sniping. I wonder how different the Scottish Football landscape would be had Longmuir been in Regan's hotseat?
