  1. This is the problem with agenda's...you can get so wrapped up in defending your faith/politics that you become the other side of the coin. I'm afraid this kind of rhetoric does nobody any good and least of all Rangers. Nobody is trying to take anybodies religion away from them in Scotland in 2012. If half of the "Proddies" and "Kafflicks" actually practised their faith and attended their place of worship they might find other like minded people to revel in their faith with and leave my football club alone.
  2. Well written D'Artagnan, I have a mixed view of Rangers bloggers but you consistently hit the mark. I don't know about anybody else but lately, in the last couple of months or so I've come to the realisation that "the haters" are a pretty sorry bunch and nothing to be concerned about. They're a joke. McGholla Brain, Thomson, Spiers, McNally, Greenslade, between them have every character flaw and trait in the book. All they do is make as much noise as they can and whip up as much hysteria as they can to give the perception that they are in some way important.
  3. Short of getting your kit off and parting your arse cheeks, that's pretty much what you get.
  4. The latest development tells me that another brand of weapon is being used by the haters....propaganda. All other efforts have failed to "obliterate" our club and so all other avenues are being pursued. I sense it's the last desperate throes of a defeated bunch trying desperately to stay in the fight. 5. We wouldn't get it past security it Ibrox to test the theory. No doubt charges and punishments would follow...the rules for Celtic and the rules for Rangers seem to be very different.
  6. Things are plainly not right in that team and that is McCoist's responsibility rightly or wrongly. I'd be sad to see him part ways with Rangers but we need to show some progress on the park to match the work being done off it.
  7. It's not been a good couple of months for Alex and Phil. Both of them have been roundly mocked from all but their own band of sycophants.
  8. The survey is really just concerned with the BBC Sport Scotland website. I wouldn't be sure that anybody outside of the on line department will read any of these to be honest.
  9. The man's clearly a bully...he'll fit right in with the Celtic Minded right enough. If you can't beat 'em bully 'em could be their motto.
  10. To me football is an escape from politics, religion, work, the Mrs and the kids but I'm aware that it doesn't represent the same escape for everybody. The problem comes in when Rangers Football Club becomes the platform for peoples political and religious views. No amount of justification or tenuous links from the bygone days of yore will ever make that right or acceptable in my book and that's that. It doesn't matter whether you're from Belfast, Beith or Bangkok you are free to support your team and in that we're all equal. With that freedom comes the responsibility of representing the club and again in that we are all equal.
  11. I was being facetious Max, I share your antipathy about NI etc.
  12. I'd laugh my tits off if Charlie was installing red white and blue seating in the shape of the Union Flag. Maybe he was asked about this in NI.....could have Red Hand of Ulster in each corner too?
  13. I'm not so sure that it will happen like that, if I've learned anything this past year or so it's that justice has no real place in modern society. Money and power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely.
  14. Meeeeow! I have a particular disdain for Jim Spence, it's been that way for years and he is probably the only "public figure" that I would stoop to addressing that way. He IS a weasel. Apologies for letting everybody down and not cutting him apart with witty repartee but I preferred to speak to him in a manner and language he understands. The fact that you (or anybody else) doesn't like it literally means nothing to me. Thanks for the pointers though.
  15. The guy holding Jock aloft has to be Richard Gough's long lost relative...dead ringer!
  16. I had a go at the wee prick on Twitter last night..... Jim Spence ‏@bbcjimspence Lot of goodwill for Celtic win tonight. Is there a different mentality among Scottish fans this season. Is there a more co operative spirit 18h Juancornetto ‏@Juanscornetto @bbcjimspence Hahahahaha how long did it take you to think that one up Jum? You are a desperate little weasel. 18h Jim Spence ‏@bbcjimspence @Juanscornetto that's a stoater as they say This then was proceeded by a dozen or so tims giving me random abuse and telling me I'm a zombie etc. Sad chunts
  17. Just to summarise then: Pro Orange jersey = Defender of the faith Anti Orange jersey = Handwringer Couldn't give a fluck about an Orange jersey = Handwringer Pretty clear cut to me.
  18. On this day in 2007 Rangers won their second Champions League game in a row beating Lyon 0-3 with goals from McCulloch, Beasley and Cousin.
  19. Looks like we might be near to getting an answer to this: http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?46512-The-Campbell-Ogilvie-Conundrum&highlight=
  20. Either way, what has it got to do with Rangers?
  21. Great post dB. I'm glad others can see the hypocrisy of decrying tims and tartan army for their expressions of pride about irrelevant historical events and politics whilst doing exactly the same except with Protestantism, Loyalism and the Orange Order. At best it's misguided and at worst it's deluded. The same people will say wanting an Orange strip is nothing to do with any of those things but quickly adopt it as a weapon to "get it right up the tims" when it's released. If we are to really "move on" as has been suggested a few times in this thread then maybe we should look at what The Rangers Football Club is really about and less of what some fans would like it to be. The Gallant Pioneers didn't set up a football club for Proddies, Loyalists and Orangemen. The fact that Celtic was set up FOR Catholics and Republicans is their problem.
  22. More than a few beers and glasses of wine consumed last night by all it seems....
  23. So we lambast the Celtic support for trumpeting their divisive religious and cultural heritage but encourage our own club to do the same? The last couple of pages of this thread has been a master class in hypocrisy. To "move on" we've to go back to the 17th Century first? Utter nonsense.
