£750k per year might persuade him that he's always wanted to manage Rangers.

Glenn Gibbons: Green ignores flaw in England plan
Juancornetto replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
He's done the classic "the Premier League doesn't want you" thing ignoring that the lower leagues is where CG is aiming for. Coventry City may well be about to create a vacancy in League 1... They're gunning for Charlie Green, they've been taking it in turns to have a pop at him for a while now. Ho dare he not like us! -
Sandaza suspended - from the official website
Juancornetto replied to Davie P's topic in Rangers Chat
I have a wee bit of sympathy for Sandaza but he crossed the line when he talked about his contract and the potential for negotiating a deal behind the club's back on a telephone call with somebody he had never heard of or met. John Daly now looks a better bet. -

TRS - Green Brigade Disgrace Scottish Football Again
Juancornetto replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
This was an orchestrated and deliberate action designed to provoke the police into confrontation. There was a "shock and outrage" reaction ready to be rolled out by high profile Tims to make Strathclyde Police look bad. If you think that's far fetched just take a look at the clap-trap spouted by Aamer Anwar, Eddi Reader (II know right?) various MSP's, print media and of course the barmy blogger and his apprenctice Angela Haggerty. Giving the GB any credit whatsoever plays right into their hands. Political activists is what they are, they stopped being football fans when they boycotted their own teams games. -
Scottish football fucked? League cup final
Juancornetto replied to Super_Ally's topic in Rangers Chat
A Lennon wins a trophy at Hampden at last.... -
I'm sorry but the evidence is pretty conclusive, Ally has presided over some of our darkest days on a football pitch going all the way back to Malmo and a disastrous European campaign. All the excuses in the world won't make him the manager we need right now. Can anybody see anything to suggest McCoist, Durrant and McDowall have a master-plan for how our club should play the game for the years to come? I can't and saying that gives me no pleasure whatsoever.

DAFC are only tenants in their own stadium. It's owned by Gavin Masterton's company(s) and was being leased back to them so, they can't go down the admin route and flog the assets because they basically don't have any. The "club" in this case probably amounts to a couple of filing cabinets and some office furniture. The players contracts will be ripped up. It's straight to oblivion for Dunfermline Athletic. A proper phoenix club could be formed of course but they would have to apply for a completely new league share and associate membership of the SFA.

If we played with a dynamic, passing, hard working philosophy and the slightest glimpse was evident on the park I'd happily accept scraping through this division and look forward to next season no matter what tier we were in but ,what we're being asked to accept is light years from that. It's a real shame, we had the opportunity to pull a ramshackle squad together and improve them individually and collectively instead of now looking at shipping some of them out and bringing in anybody that will sacrifice quality for cash. Criminal really.

Finally we have transparency. Not the transparency promised by Stewart Regan as he took up the cudgels at the SFA but from our beloved Scottish football writers and hacks. If youâ??ve been reading the work of our brightest and boldest journalists in print, digital or on Twitter this past year or so then you will no doubt be incredulous at my opening sentence, and with good reason. What weâ??ve been served up, as Rangers supporters has been a heady mixture of jingoistic hyperbole, thinly veiled mockery and inflammatory slapstick designed to both stimulate plummeting sales of their ailing newspapers and polarise opinion ever further between us and fans of SPL clubs. Some might even say it has been â??scriptedâ?. So where is this transparency? I give youâ?¦ Tom English @TomEnglishSport Might be wrong but David Longmuir looks to me like a man auditioning for a job at Rangers. Followed byâ?¦ Gordon Waddell @GordonWaddell @TomEnglishSport it feels a somehow familiar concept... If ever there was a clearer example of a journalist and his comrade attempting to influence opinion in a particular direction Iâ??ve yet to see it. Casually dropped into the mix on Tuesday night and immediately seized upon by the ravenous hordes desperate for confirmation of the grand conspiracy that has seen Rangers cleared of cheating, tax evasion and of just about every other accusation that we were definitely guilty of pre FTT and before that meddling William Nimmo Smith (formerly Lord Nimmo Smith) mucked it up. The timing alone of Tomâ??s tweet is significant. On the same day David Longmuir was quoted as saying that he had requested details of the mythical Sky deal as far back as January and received nothing. The same day David Longmuir floated the Henry McLeish Report inspired idea that a revamped league structure could accommodate two â??coltâ? sides, one from Rangers and one from Celtic. See how it works yet? In isolation, you could dismiss Tom English's little depth charge as innocent musing or even valid observation but when you consider the tone of some of the articles and rhetoric since LNS's verdict it's not hard to see that a new hobby horse has been wheeled out - restructuring. If only the focus had been on repairing our game long before now rather than lynching Rangers Football Club we might have actually seen some progress however like predators seeking a fresh kill our hack pack have had to refocus. No sooner does an idea unsettle the SPL chairmen than the author or orator of said statement is discredited and labelled as â??auditioning for a job at Rangersâ?. Itâ??s not the first time this tactic has been used and it almost certainly wonâ??t be the last but the question remainsâ?¦are our football writers simply tools to be used to manipulate opinion amongst the disparate factions of fans by those who wield the real power and influence? I donâ??t expect this question will ever be answered. Scottish football writing has been a truth distorting prism for many years, itâ??s nothing new but in recent times Spiers, English, Waddell, King, Keevins, Jackson et al have been extremely transparent in their agenda driven output. The difference is that now more and more of the Rangers support can see straight through it.

Slanty eyes is on the Professional Game Board, which is a kind of commercial focus group for the SFA and SPL. The Sky deal and the Longmuir questions make the hack pack extremely nervous it seems....almost as if they have a brief to ignore the real important stuff and to distract attention by printing stories of non-boycott's and sectarianism. I feel an article coming on.

What a silly boy tweeting that at 1:30pm....I feel sorry for him because he's now taking a bit of stick for it but you'd think they'd be warned to be careful what they do and say after Saturday never mind the fact that they should be in the bulk of the day working on their touch and fitness.

Some EPL clubs get £30m+ from Sky and don't have £100m turnovers...what exactly was the point in giving an interview like this at this juncture? Transparent.

Richard Wilson - Herald - Serious Questions Need Answers
Juancornetto replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
Expect the Stranraer precedent to be cited alongside the dreaded "Sporting Integrity" and Rangers to be in the 2nd Tier of a 3 Tier league in a 12-12-18 format with the middle 8 split. The ground has been prepared for it since the LNS verdict and only the yahoo's will protest. -
I'd suggest it's more like 50x :-)

It's the most spurious of all the punishments handed down to us, no basis for it whatsoever. Your point is a valid one, I just think they didn't think that far down the line to worry about the effect on themselves such was their lust.

I've got the feeling there are some nervous individuals out there, Mark Daly is up to his neck in it.

BBC Scotland report NO titles to be stripped but are fined £250K
Juancornetto replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Lord Nimmo Smith's direct quotes from the ruling blow that out of the water. Both "no competitive on field advantage gained" and "did not constitute fielding ineligible players" should quash that pretty quickly. -
BBC Scotland report NO titles to be stripped but are fined £250K
Juancornetto replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
For me it'll confirm what we've all suspected. The SPL are a toxic, incompetent and possibly corrupt organisation, if they continue with the title thieving agenda and engineer that result. I dare you Doncaster. -
A defensive coach is a must, replace Durrant with Davie Weir and let McCoist coach the forwards. If it wasn't for the money I'd made on doing Both Teams To Score bets with Rangers I'd be fuming.

Personally I wouldn't lower myself to singing about BJK, Loyalism or The Pope. This isn't about me or my behaviour. My point is before people get their knickers in a twist and start penning blogs about the ideal fan etc etc maybe they should take stock of where we're at as a support and as a society. Together for better or worse, warts and all is the only way to defend ourselves against the various detractors.

What's the motivation to be perfect? Will we be left alone and respected then? Of course not so what we have is a situation in which people know what they are doing will bring negative press etc but don't care. There's no incentive to toe the line. It's not ideal but then we are in not in and ideal situation. Not even close.
