I think the time for kidding on hes not that good is past. Took an unfancied Japanese team to the title. Took Australia to the World Cup. Revitalised an awful celtc instantly. you stick him in at a spurs they might go win the league or could take a west ham to top 4. Could be a disaster as well but you can be sure someone will take a chance soon. Especially if they get a couple of European results .

Seems Financial Fair Play may have played a hand here which is fair enough.

The galling thing is the issues on display today were so obvious in the summer and were brought up but not addressed.

We have something of an opportunity here to reinvent ourselves. We will come second but 1st looks beyond us. We clearly cant buy our way out of trouble like years gone past. We can use Lowrie, McCrorie. McCann, Tilman in his proper position. even Devine, Yilmaz or Matondo etc and concentrate on cups while getting players up to speed in the league. Mostly what we need to do is decide how we want to play and implement it. Doesn't have to be like celtc but certainly has to be more dynamic. Gio should be told to go and implement that. If he can't someone who can should be found.

you won't find them playing 3 defensive mids. or a center mid on the right wing. they didn't spend many millions to make that possible either
