Davy Wilson for me. With Billy Henderson a close second. What a great teammate we had in those days.

Aluko's the best talent we've had in quite a while. I'll be really disappointed if we don't sign him up long term. Surely CW and Ally must be working on it?
-
Looks like CW's original promise will become reality and that RFC will be off PlusNet come May. There will certainly be less bureaucracy to annoy CW or tie his hands. I'm cagey and think all stakeholders should stick together and press CW for some kind of transparency.
-
I'll let your optimism rub off the next time. First ten minutes I was bricking it. Then it all became so Easy!

The situation about Jelavic is still in flux, and it's getting to that stage of the season where bookings and injuries start piling up. What happens if Healy gets a long term injury today? However, point taken for the domestic Cup SA, however, I for one really want us to win the Cup this year for obvious reasons. Thing is, if Miller was worth £400,000 at this time last year - in the same situation - then Sandaza can't be worth all that much?
-
Agreed. I worry a lot about what CW is reported as having said. As I read it, he's saying liquidation is hunky dory. Well, not in my book. I want my Club and its history to remain.
-
Well, he's cup-tied now, so the price has just gone down in my reckoning.

If I remember, Kayal and Jig both went in rashly for a 50/50 ball. Kayal came off worse, but given Kayal's previous, it could just as easily have been Jig who came off worse. That's football. Regarding the disciplinary and appeals process, Sellik have had more to do with putting the new system in place than most. If they have an issue, it's their own fault. Regarding Kayal, I think they'll miss him. If we end up winning the league, this will be the pivotal moment that cheated them out of it. Oh - how we've been here before. Finally, regarding Naisy and Kayal - no competition. Naisy is far more influential for us. Laces and boots thing.

I like your optimism Zappa - mine is shot to pieces just now. Mind you, I think we'll win but it will be tight and there will be one goal in it. Prediction 1-2 for the Rangers. Other prediction - meltdown if we go out. Not from me, but judging by how restless some natives are.

Hi Everyone I wasn't on this forum in 2010, so getting herevwas a high point Great forum. Wish you all, and the Rangers, the best for the coming year. 2012 may be interesting but if - as a support - we pull together, I can see a good year for us. Ever the optimist. All the best to you all, wherever you are. Happy New Year

Opportunity Knocks For The Scottish Government And Media To Help UEFA
bluebear54 replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
Good post Zappa. Thanks. You note that Alex Salmond has said that the actions taken against Rangers by UEFA are an example of why something needs to be done. I would hope that the coming week will raise the profile of UEFA investigating Celtic, and perhaps the powers that be will be reminded that something needs to be done specifically about the offensive behaviour of Celtic fans too. -
Agreed with chilledbear and Pete. My take is that his lawyers have said "You haven't got a cat's chance - maybe you ask them to apologise?" Last resort here is to make this non-cooperation thing with the Beeb become permanent. No loss to us.

This timing might not be good for them. Not good for them at all. From the Scottish Parliament website: The Committee is expected to consider Stage 2 amendments for the Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Bill at its meeting on Tuesday 22 November 2011 (Tuesday 29 November is also available should additional time be required). The deadline for lodging amendments on the Bill at Stage 2 is 12 noon on Thursday 17 November. If there's any amendments about the IRAoke, there is pretty damning evidence that UEFA are investigating it as we speak. On another note I see that David McLetchie is now the Tory Justice spokesman, so he'll be on the Justice Committee. If I remember rightly, he said in Parliament that he would be bringing forward an amendment about pro-IRA singing.

Champions elect 3 - Dundee Hibernian 0 Lafferty, Whittaker and Jelavic.

Hey CB. Join the club. Infinitely better than saying "I wouldn't say I was concerned, but I've got to admit that I'm lost and I'm an idiot. These type of things go way over my head, and I end up relying on some good professional opinion from some Gersnet board members.

Is this not about all the assets of the Club being reassigned as collateral from BoS to Wavetower - apart from the Close Leasing thing? Suggests to me BoS have just had the debt paid off. No? If so, suggests to me this is the end game. Presumably there's nothing for the taxman to go after - it's all offshore? I'll wait for BD or one of our luminaries to enlighten us.

Just caught up with Frankie's BBC protest thread. Note that that one descended into disparaging comments about Chico too. Ha-ha! Really says it all!

Listening to him tonight finally made me realise how much of a serial liar he is. Can't undertsand how his face is tanned when it's perpetually up his backside. Shit - maybe it isn't a tan?

Kiddyfiddlerstreet - Reaction To Naismith Being Out
bluebear54 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Horrible comments. And yes - there are some Rangers supporters who are every bit as twisted - not forgetting quite a lot of other teams. It seems to be a sign of the times in this brave new internet world we've developed. I've often wondered if these comments are mainly from wee laddies using a laptop with more keys than they have brain cells. I don't know. Point gratefully taken about Gersnet being shielded from this. That's why I'm here, and I'm glad for it. Does seem to be a lot more about the Football and the Rangers. -
It makes me boak to think my license fee has funded his pension ..............

First of all - many thanks for posting this Sairdy. Secondly, eloquently put, Ergatrude. On the subject of rumours, heard Chick Young on the way home. He was getting his tuppence-worth on the subject of rumours about dressing room barneys at Sellik. The bold Young says - I never like talking about rumours, it only helps to give them credence. And anyway I don't do football forums. Both of these statements are porkies. I know. How can the man live with himself?

Naismith confirmed as out for 8-9 months
bluebear54 replied to Rangers Football Club's topic in Rangers Chat
Not good at all this. I really feel for him. A real bummer just when he was in the form of his life. Sounds like we won't see him again this season. Hopefully he'll make a full recovery and we'll see him back to his best next season. In the meantime we need someone to fill that type of role. McKay anyone? Bedoya? Don't think Fleck can cut it. Failing that we need a different system which plays to the strengths we have. -
What a non-story. Headline says medals grabbed. Halfway down the article, it says they're not anymore. Very peculiar indeed. Porkies if you ask me. I think the tabloids have sussed that writing about any woe concerning Rangers is good for sales.
