As I've mentioned before, the thought of Ellis being involved scares me shitless. I agree 100% that there's a game going on. My only straw just now is that D&P are answerable to the courts. I'd like to see this ending up with us not being shafted again, and in a stronger position. I've not beeen totally hooked on the BK idea, but - at present - I think that would be the safest option. Given the support we have - and the promise to deliver (or not) - and given the leverage that the bondholders have in the CVA process - I would dare say that we have a say in all of this. If we can get ourselves moving.
-
My take - when I listened to the interview - was that he was close to tears at times. He also came across as being totally honest when he blurted out the thing about liquidation.
-
The result was one thing today, but the interview after kicked the feet from underneath me. If it's going to be liquidation, then so be it. We'll have to make sure that we have 50,000 crowds on the way back up from the 3rd or wherever else we are. I don't see any grounds for staying in the SPL while we give 75% of our income to those shits. Also while we have punitive points deductions. The one thing that scares me about the Miller bid is the rumour that Ellis is involved. I don't like it, and I have a vision of the nexy rip-off being around the corner.

Someone needs to get in touch with the council ASAP
bluebear54 replied to Bears's topic in Rangers Chat
It's not the Council who need to be contacted - it's whoever started this ball rolling. Marches/protests like this are illegal. There are steps to follow. I don't like the sound of it, and it could get messy. Just asking for trouble IMHO. Some people should be retracting what they have said and done and offering more well advised advice - and in no uncertain terms. -
Mmmmm? D&P strangely silent for once if it is ...... Not sure that would really help us. Anyway, thought their appointment was rubber-stamped by the Court? Don't honestly see one of the key players shelling out for this. I might be wrong. Nothing in the media? Twit world?

Chrissake! I hope not - you couldn't make this up. Don't think I can take much more. The book and the movie are going to lift us into the Barcelona level .........

Judging from the forums, things have stepped up a gear since last night’s bombshell. I note the tentative efforts to advocate fan unity, and am in total agreement. I’m not holding my breath as yet, but we may yet be surprised. With regards to the SFA and the yet to be announced SFL sanctions, I think it’s pretty clear to us all that the opportunistic mugging we are suffering has got to stop. It’s also pretty clear to this Bear that the SFA and the SPL administrations are not fit for purpose, are either hopelessly biased or scared of standing up to outside driving forces. That they have failed to facilitate a way out of the mess we are in is a scandal. That they have chosen to actively participate in attempting to emasculate us is – in my mind – an act of war. Scottish football isn’t in a good place, and ignoring all the recent superficial empty rhetoric – Scottish football needs a strong Rangers and the generous pockets of a strong and willing Rangers support. There are a lot of angry Bears out there today. Actually, I think that today is the closest we will ever be to unity, so how do we fight back? Firstly, can I repeat what I said last night? The idea of a protest at Hampden on Cup Final day is ludicrous. It will achieve nothing to our advantage, and merely pitch most of Scotland against us. I beg whoever is pushing this knee-jerk agenda should seriously reconsider. We have to look at our objectives, and judge what the most effective way to reach them is. A messy protest spoiling other fans day out is not the way to endear ourselves to anyone. So – how do we go about bringing pressure to bear? Let’s take the ultimate last resort sacrifice first. Leave the SPL. The effect would be that Celtic (major behind-the-scenes movers and shakers in all of this) will no longer be part of a duopoly. The other Clubs will change the voting structure, and gradually grab more and more power and money. Celtic’s influence will diminish; they will tire very quickly of Regan and Doncaster, who will eventually be found out by the other clubs. And us? I think that – whether lower English divisions or 3rd division up here – if we can keep a big motivated support together – we will manage quite fine, thank you. With the right business model, we could make good money out of media rights and sponsorship in our fairytale rise through the ranks. However, that’s the drastic option. The easier one I see right now is to focus on the money trail, and to do this, we need to show the highest degree of unity that we have ever shown, and target all the key players. There are a whole load of sponsors and partners who can be targeted, however, by smart use of email copylists, one email copied in to all and sundry would get the message out. I would strongly suggest not blaming any partners or sponsors. Merely say that you are closing ranks, and any disposable cash you have will only be going to RFC until the situation has been remedied. You find it morally abhorrent to financially support a company/organisation while this witch hunt continues against RFC. Of course, you should note that you have previously been a dedicated customer of their products/services. SFA: Let them know thatwe will boycott all sponsors. We will boycott all away games. We will boycott all Scotland games. We will continually lobby until the organisation is reformed and a more balanced administration is put in place. Here’s their sponsor page: http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/scottish_football.cfm?page=3305 Then let all their other all other football clubs in Scotland know about your action. Let them know about the boycotts and the reasons. Let them know what outcome you want for you to return to the fold. No fudges. Pure and simple. An even playing field. Remember that some Clubs may (or will) find themselves in the same situation in the future. Would they want to be treated the same way, or would they like to be extended some support? SFL: Although they haven’t made their big moves yet, I’m convinced they are considering their options and will join in the mugging. Their lack of help has been staggering. Let them know that we will boycott all sponsors. We will boycott all away games. On the main page of their website, you’ll find clickable links to all the main sponsors. http://www.scotprem.com/content/ Again, let all the other all other football clubs in the SPL know about your action. Don’t forget to copy them in. The Media: Scottish newspapers in particular have had a field day out of all of this and their sales have seen a surge since administration. Personally, I haven’t bought a newspaper in donkeys. Unanimous boycotts – or synchronised daily boycotts of the press would get a major message across. Scottish Government: This year the Government sponsored the Scottish Communities League Cup to the tune of £1m. A letter to your First Minister explaining your previously supportive voting patterns on Holyrood elections and your supportive intentions for the independence referendum and stating your intention to jump ship will not go unnoticed if you are joined by the majority of a united support. SKY/ESPN: I’ve talked about sponsors throughout this post, but SKY and ESPN are the daddies. It’s important to give up subscriptions and to let the CEO (not the call centre) know your reasons. Scottish football will be in dire straits without their sponsorship, and their sponsorship is dependent on our fan base being customers. While we’re at it, get your local Bear-friendly pub to join in the boycott, cancel SKY and let them know why. Help to arrange Bears afternoons at the pub instead of watching football, so that the pub doesn’t miss out financially. I’m pretty sure not all will agree with me, and, in no way am I trying to dictate what anyone should think. I’m sure I’ve missed some angles, but essentially what I’m trying to do, I guess, is sow a seed of unified effective action which is non-harmful to our image. There is plenty valid evidence out there that we are being shafted in this period – or at the very least, certainly that we are not being supported. I for one have had it up to here. The time has come to show how much money we put into the game, the time has come to wield our power, and the time has come to bring about some reform of the institutions which have sought to destroy us.
-
Cup final day would be a total PR disaster for us. We would be seen as spoiling a big occasion for other fans. We need other actions that are more effective.

SFA Ruling: Lifetime ban for Whyte; RFC signing ban for 1 year

FS - you should know by now. I seriously wouldn't believe CW if he said that the Moon went round the Earth. -

Personally, I gave up Sky and ESPN when this started. I recently wrote to them giving my reasons. Perhaps others would see fit to do the same. There are more powerful forces than the SFA and the SPL. Those forces invariably start with a pound sign. -

I don't see the news being better when the SPL have their say. I sense that they're going to hammer us too. What I find is the the total injustice of it all. A parallel is like being in a traffic accident in which you are accused of being at fault. You're lying in a coma, you are charged, the court find you guilty, and you are sentenced - all before you come out of the coma. It stinks to me of opportunism by the other clubs. A chance to put to rights their frustration at our preeminence since football began in Scotland. However, they're grossly misguided. The fallout of this will at the very least seriously debilitate Scottish football for generations - at most, it will destroy it. No matter what the outcome, I think at the very least, they should have waited until we had owners who were in place to defend us. -
SFA are far too busy trying to screw RFC just now. They might get around to other less important matters in due course.

Ian, you're blatantly wrong. Ask any luminary such as Craig Burley or Chick (Treble Bet Down the Chute) Young and you'll actually find that the toenail of Hooper's left foot was marginally onside. Sorry about that - but you can't argue with manufactured fact. Unless of course, it's a matter of any team who are playing against Celtic. BTW, what's the betting that Norris is the next to go, poor chappy? This whole charade has now gone beyond a joke. And all the more reason for a solidaric support from us. They've got it. We don't. When will we wake up?
-
Aye - I'm aware. Wonder if the Polis or the SFA are? Would imagine this will disappear also.

Just when you thought you pissed your pants laughing, I'm sorry but this will complete the job. Lifted from KDS. Beattiemania 15 Apr 2012, 04:52 PM Can i change my username please? .

FF threads saying that he had a go at the ref and the linesman and was generally totally out of order. What's new. Given all his pending stuff, and now this, a level playing field would say that he's facing half a season's ban. He'll probably end up with a slap on the wrist. Their forums are going totally apeshit about how they've been cheated out of a treble. KDS is priceless. They seem to have forgotten that Hooper's goal was well offside. Isn't Karma sweet.

The one undeniable fact of this season is the incomparable ability of Lennon and Celtic to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I write this just as Gary Hooper has equalised, but I am still supremely confident that this will be a day for Hearts celebrations. Given our pre-administration problems, and then the effects of administration, Celtic were effectively left with a clear run for a domestic treble. To have failed to accomplish this is an unbelievable act of incompetence. The league was gifted to Celtic. Unfortunately, when they had to play football to win other trophies, they have been found abysmally lacking. Oh – Craig Beattie’s just scored a penalty. Yes! I just can’t wait for Lenny to comment. What a strange season this has been. How it can be classed as a success for Celtic is beyond me. This is on top of press comments yesterday when Lenny reckoned that Celtic were perfectly able to win the Champions League. Too much glue IMO. That’s it – final whistle! Absolutely brilliant! I’m slightly apologetic about the schadenfreude, but I’m truly loving it. Let’s all remember this as Lenny’s treble. And to finish, congratulations to Hearts and Hibs. The first Edinburgh derby in a Scottish Cup in over 100 years. That Celtic aren’t in a final is a bonus for the rest of us.

Boycott message seems to be growing rather nicely at the moment

It may be that we're missing something. If we meekly go along with what has happened in this season (don't forget, we have umpteen breaches of rule charges yet to be heard) we will be quintessentially asking to be shafted again and again next season, and the next, and the next ....... It'll be non-level playing field red cards, fines for chants, etc, etc....... At some stage a serious stance has to be taken. These fuckwits are out to emascualate Rangers permanently. They desperately need us to keep their gravy train going, but the 10 are determined that we will never dominate again, therefore more dosh, points and chances in Europe for them. The key to this is the voting structure. When they have that, financial redistribution won't be far behind. Celtic, on the other hand, are quite happy to engineer the whole situation with the premeditated intention that they will be THE one power in Scottish football in perpetuity. Off the park, they're getting pretty fucking close to this already. As Zappa suggested elsewhere, I'll laugh my socks off each time one of the ten gets hammered for liquidation or administration - and it WILL happen. I'll guarantee that. However, we will need to make a stand, sooner or later. Now seems appropriate. No more SPL for this Bear - they'll ask for us before we ask for them! -
Agreed GA. I for one am well up for the long fight. It will, however, require a lot of solidarity. I'm still a wee bit wary of how the various fangroups thing will pan out in the present scenario.

Agreed that we probably don't do ourselves any favours. However, no matter how much we bend over backwards - or bend over - the greater part of Scorttish football and the fanbase doesn't like us and never will. They are savouring our present problems, they are gloating, and a great many would like to see us die. That's because of success. In the football world, no one likes a constant winner. The example being that most in Scotland cream over Barcelona - but if they were playing here, most would thoroughly despise them. Given that we have been so successful for so many years, that level of dislike will never disappear. It's ingrained in every Scottish fan. It's called jealousy. So, it matters not a whit about any "destructive or self sabotaging attitude." We're despised, always have been, and always will be. Me, I don't take it personally - it's just the nature of the game. Given all this, it doesn't matter which future path we take. We'll be damned if we do, and damned if we don't. When Scottish football implodes, it'll either be our fault for allowing our administration to be that catalyst, or it will be our fault for leaving the SPL. It will never be anything to do with diminishing fanbases at most other clubs, the ineptness of the SPL/SFA or the grotesquely destructive nature of the Celtic fan base and the media. So, let's just wake up, smell the coffee, and look after number one. -
The Admins safeguard the interests of creditors. There has been no one since administration, and arguably since CW took over, who has safeguarded the interests of the Club. IMO what has been happening with the SFA and SPL - given that there has been no one to defend the interests of the Club - is nothing short of scandalous. I really think that - after this is all over - we should go somewhere else. If it was the 3rd division, I'm sure that some kind of TV deal - or even a revamped RTV - is totally possible, given the level of our support. It would also be up to the support to remain in numbers at home and away games. I've been thinking the SFA/SPL thing through for a long time try to take a balanced view. I'm convinced that this is not paranoia. The SFA/SPL are on a vendetta and it will not stop. I stopped my ESPN/SKY package a couple of months back. I should have explained my reasoning to them then. I feel I might just write to them today to explain.

You're probably right Stewarty. There's an awful lot of cynical opportunism around at present. Paper sales are up, the smaller clubs are flexing their muscle, and not a few are doing their damnedest to make sure we die. What I find shocking is the TOTAL lack of any form of support from the SFA/SPL. Actually what exists are continuing efforts to make life as difficult as possible for the Rangers. Be in no doubt that this is a defining moment in our history. When we're out of it, I hope we all have long memories. I'll be pretty miffed if there are further sanctions ahead for us, and if there are, I would hope that the new owners have enough nous and balls to take us somewhere else, be it England or the 3rd division. If these new SPL measures come into play, and we're no longer around, there will be a a chain reaction of failure in Scottish football. The TV deal will collapse, teams like Killie and Hearts will fold, and lead to others following suit. So - in a nutshell - I wouldn't mind biting the bullet and heading out of Dodge - no matter what the present outcome. The ineptness of the SFA and the SPL is guaranteeing that Scottish football faces a semi-professional future anyway. -
Bocanegra got my vote. Naisy was the best player at the start of the season - by a country mile. But Boca's been solid.
