I'm sure that RTV and many a Rangers Club - especially in NI - will be welcoming him with open arms when his footballing career is over. I understand what they're all doing, I understand why they're doing it, but by Christ, I don't understand the method that they're using. We really do deserve better. I supported him when he was great and I supported him when he was mince. Hope this isn't true, and I did expect Davis to leave, but to do so in such a manner sticks in my craw.

I agree totally Max, and thanks for the ray of sunshine you threw. However, I think it would be the 9th or 10th division for us, transfer embargo sine die, tattoos on our foreheads and blue triangles on our jackets if the rest of the football world allows the press to decide. That's just going by the way that repeat administrations have been dealt with in the past mind you.
-
Where's that from Craigy? No disrespect, I trust you, but I'm interested in the source.
-
Let's just bundle them all together and keep counting. It'll irritate the shit out of our "fellow" fans, and keep us focussed. I would laugh if Regan decided to pay for an Inquiry into how many titles we have actually won - which contrary to the gutter press, is more than any Club in world football.

Yes, and even a floating shit always sinks sometime. I truly hope I live long enough to see some of these shits get their come-uppance. Schadenfreude isn't a particularly admirable thing, but recently, the level of schadenfreude, opportunism dressed up as sporting integrity and just plain old vindictiveness has been astonishing to this Bear. And I won't forgive or forget it. I won't actively cause it, but by God, I'll smile when these shits see the error of their ways and scream out for help. Because they will. The game's a bogey and nothing will ever be the same again. But I do believe that we will rise from this and be great once more. That we will rise again while watching others flounder and make U-turns will seem sweet to me. Hell mend them.

Absolutely no reason why there will be no TV or sponsorship money in the 3rd Division. TV deals and sponsorship are entirely about how many possible punters you can attract. If SKY/ESPN weren't interested, then let's go Rangers TV - big time. There will still be loads of Bears out there who will want to pay to watch the Rangers without going to matches. Fact. Let's stay on the positive side.

We'd need a long term plan to develop some level of mutual interest between the fans. As it is now, it would be a self destructive bun fight.

Membership scheme is a great idea and I'd be in like a shot. But why give the funds to the Club? Why not manage it as a fund and release those funds as and when appropriate. The one thing we should have learned out of the past years is the we are our only friends. We would have some clout if we got this up into the millions. In fact, if we administered it ourselves, we would always have clout.

Dearie, dearie me. And he used to have a vote?
-
Congrats? For what may I ask? The world has lost perspective. I blame the press - and the skools.

Cue rebuttal statement sometime next year from Dundee.

Quote: Andy Steel: Just watched the Euro2012 press conferences on SSN. The movie star looks of Xavi Alonso, speaking clearly and impressively in English, were sullied by the wee monitor advertising Cruz beer.. But Andy, you also speak clearly and impressively in English. And judging by your avatar, you've also got the movie star looks of Xavi Alonso. The sideburns might be a bit passé, but heigh-ho. You also got it right that Cruz is the bees knees.

Just a serious question. Would they have any reason to vote us in? I'm thinking about how the media have spun this. I know Bears who believe a lot of the crap that has been spewed out.

Wanna bet? Remember Lord Calloway? Or - despite not being a judge - how about his learned Counsel Gary Allan QC? http://scotslawthoughts.wordpress.com/2012/05/12/the-sfa-judicial-panel-verdict-on-rangers-full-text/ http://scotslawthoughts.wordpress.com/2012/05/12/the-sfa-verdict-on-rangers-and-craig-whyte-part-1-will-the-spl-penalise-rangers-for-its-unfair-advantage/ During the judicial panel and the subsequent appeal, was there an fully evidenced based case examined or was it just on the whim of what was flying out there? Why was there no suggestion of criminal impropriety in the case from Lord Calloway or Gary Allan? I remember Regan's quote regarding ""different legal brains have different interpretations." I 'd like him to throw that one at the Crown Office. -
We do need some clarity on here. I remain to be corrected, but if we are refused entry to the SPL - fair enough - that's their decision. If they allow us in, then relegate us, they should have a valid and pertinent reason - especially in light of the Crown Office decision. We are then in a situation of not being a member of a league structure. Until such times as we apply for membership of another league structure we essentially don't have a league to play in. One of our alternatives is the SFL which is semi-professional. But we are not required to apply. We are also waiting for a decision reagrding SFA affiliation. I do think that it's time for us all to pull together and fight. I'm tired of feeling powerless. What has happened to us is not right or just, and many of us have been blinded by the media frenzy. We've all taken horrible hits. Time to step back, take stock and weigh up our options. And there are more options than just accepting those that our detractors and the media have ordained. There were a lot of people in Manchester. That's a lot of money - and money is clout. Focus is the answer.
-
You may very well be right about the scenario, but it can't be on a whim. There must be a clearly defined reason. Following todays Crown Office statement, and also the fact that the BTC has not been resolved, the SPL would be wise not to jump to conclusions and give as reasons evidence they have read in the mainstream press. I now feel galvanised and I'm ready for a fight. After all, sporting integrity is at stake. As an aside, the thought occurs that perhaps CFC are bringing pressure to bear with the powers that be to safeguard their income? The timeline is certainly a coincidence. As are the statements from other Clubs. If it weren't for the the horrible effect on our Club, this would be fascinating.

Crown office launch investigation into sale of Rangers to Whyte

Strikes me as extremely bad news for the spin doctor at SFA. Given Regan's past statements, the SFA have been very bad boys. They may end up facing the biggest law suit in football history. -
Andy - there are many other options if we have the will and the gumption. And there are surpringly innovative ones that will still generate the necessary income. All we require is the fan base to remain committed. But I'm buggered if I'm going to let everyone be party to my thoughts.

The "Agree" and the "Thanks" button have worked well since they were introduced. I read GA's post and sympathise. I feel exactly the same. Admin, can we have a temporary "Sympathise" button please? -
Just a thought. By refusing Rangers admission the only fully professional league setup in Scotland, perhaps that provides an argument (to UEFA) that we can make an appication to ply our trade elsewhere. Queen's Park, as we all know, are an amateur side. There are also semi professionals plying their trade in the SFL.

Agreed GS. And some fans don't. So where does that leave us? Are we suddenly a divided support? Or have we always been a support with divided opinions. By the time someone finally works out the solution to that conundrum, it'll be too late. But let's bash on. Woods and trees. -
Rapid Vienna report Rangers to Fifa over Nikica Jelavic debt
bluebear54 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
The CW takeover is the subject of a criminal investigation. Presumably the culpability of all subsequent actions are also dependant on that. If the "story" is correct, then it goes against the moral line that I would want Rangers to be taking. However, looking back on the rest of the "stories" over the past year, its veracity a very big IF. -
Crown office launch investigation into sale of Rangers to Whyte

Much the same as being mugged, then being fined a couple of grand for the privilege of being a crime victim. I sense forthcoming statements from the SFA and the SPL. Not. -
It certainly won't be before July 4th. So, we're refused entry to the SPL. Does that mean we can apply elsewhere?
-
Quote: BrahimHemdani: The simple fact is that the SPL Clubs have the right to accept or reject an application for the transfer of a share to a newco and the only REAL consideration in that regard should be - is newco a viable company? Agreed 100% they have that right. But equally, no one, apart from the Club and the SFL has the right to negotiate a way in to the SFL 1st Division for us. Even more so if it involves negotiating a SKY/ESPN deal. I would agree if there is a new structure in place, but there isn't.
