Well, I'll be there, but a wee bit miffed about the Club Deck. I think we'll get a good crowd.

Things might be about get tasty.Green uses the B word.

I wouldn't call it tasty. Our friends in the media have already gone into high gear being offended about CG's statements. This will be one more attack. We're going to have to be prepared to continue taking this in the neck, and be thick skinned. Leckie's most recent piece was disgraceful for example. Not surprised that they haven't forgotten this wee Div 3 team. They want us in a permanent state of siege. -
Given the shocking fact that we haven't had a pre season, and our squad has been decimated, I don't think we could have expected much more. I'm happy with the win, and hopefully with a few more players in, once a core team get used to playing together, I think we'll be fine. Expectations should be tempered though. Win the Ramsdens Cup, quarter finals in the League Cup and Scottish Cup, and winning Div 3 would be a successful season this year. Agree that we need to sort out the youth coaching and scouting.

I'm fairly new too. I have noticed that the atmosphere has changed at times. I was putting it down to the stress we've all been under during the past six months. However, looking at some stuff today, you may have a point Ian.

That's what I've seen on Twitter. Midfield looks a wee bit inexperienced. Back and front good though.

My thoughts are that its old hat now. We'd be better served addressing present issues like the continuing IRAoke and the offensive banners. And we'd be better served by keeping our noses clean for the next few years.

Optimistic journalism. Who'd have thought it?

That's a fairly good piece. Stable door journalism mind you. Journos should have been writing this kind of stuff months ago. -
Charles Green predicts hardship for Scottish football

These include a 12-month transfer ban handed to Rangers earlier this year over disrepute charges. The embargo will take effect on 1 September. What happened to the other four months? A figment, an aberration or just Doctor Who journalism? -
Love it! Forgot that part of the pre-season warm up.
-
Even better. I'm looking forward immensely to a cheery chappy from ramsdensforcash@i'm.a.tim.com handing over the medals and the Cup .........

Can I ask a stupid question? Is the 7 August game with East Fife on?
-
I'm trying to rationalise our squad. I've never asked a man this question before but which position do you prefer?
-
Good man. Anyone want to put this on the forums?

Following on from my email to SKY/ESPN, and the suggestion by Gribz (#6), please see a statement and link to a petition below. If you sympathise with these aims, I would be grateful if some of you could organise for it to more widely publicised. Preferably in a coordinated fashion to forums and fan groups etc. Perhaps you could post who this has been forwarded to to prevent duplication. If I receive an overwhelming response against this, I'll take it down immediately. Many thanks ---------------------------- Fellow Rangers supporters You will be well aware of the ongoing duplicitous actions of the governing bodies within Scottish football. You will also be aware of their continued vendetta against Rangers, and in particular the hypocritical desire of the SPL to deny Rangers membership of the SPL while simultaneously craving the financial fix that our media rights will give them in order to accommodate their continuance. It should be pointed out that there has been no reason to believe that our new friends in the SFL been party to any of these actions. You may also be aware of the intention of the SPL to further sanction Rangers starting with an Inquiry on 12 August 2012. This may be the first of many, and there is no reason to believe that there will be any future cessation to this witch hunt. The date for this Inquiry is not coincidental. It is two days after the SPL receive the funds from SKY and ESPN that they desperately need to stay afloat. When that issue has been addressed, and when the SPL Clubs feel comfortable with their refound wealth, we could arguably expect a renewed and vigorous campaign to emasculate us. This may provoke suspension, transfer of league titles, claims for damages or something even more horrific. One scenario could be that the issue of claims for damages would essentially mean that Celtic could make a claim against Rangers for something like £15,000,000 for each season that Celtic would be awarded a league title. That would be extreme, but it is not outwith the boundaries of reality or vindictiveness, and it is perfectly conceivable that Rangers will continue to be hammered in perpetuity. There is a growing belief that now is the time for a united Rangers support to react, and the following statement is one of our options to voice our concern. You are therefore invited to consider a petition which can be found at: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/petition-to-sky-and-espn/ If you agree to follow through with its terms, you are thanked for adding your name. This is a priority issue, the SPL Inquiry is on 12 August 2012, and the interests of Rangers dictate that this statement should be in the hands of the responsible corporate people within SKY and ESPN at the earliest opportunity. Yours in Rangers Bluebear54

Quite honestly, I'm gutted. The Pars really need the few bob that a Ramsden's Cup run would generate. Especially a home tie with us. Actually, on second thoughts, forget the "quite honestly" and "I'm gutted" bit. Karma is sweet. We're going to witness a lot over the next few years.

There are also mechanisms to complain if you percieve something to be defamatory or even illegal. Me, I find it petty and petulant. I'm also content to know that other supporters are more interested in my team than they are their own. I certainly have no interest in theirs.

Our reply must be a coordinated tsunami.

Ally is speeding towards legendary status - again. I really truly hope that this is the making of him as a great manager. First time we had one guy who became two legends anyone?
-
There you go. Spoke too soon. Who instructs these people in their private lives?

Don't like it either. May be wrong, but "baring" as opposed to "bearing" may be a giveaway. There have been some earlier posts on solidarity amongst the fan groups and I mentioned that a single voice would be of benefit. I think it might be useful to put out to all the fan groups and forums that we should concentrate on approved and agreed actions for the foreseeable future (that being said, I unilaterally sent an email to SKY and ESPN this morning - pot/kettle!) More than ever, we need a single point of contact and a single source for the information we put out. We should make everyone aware that anything outwith that is not sanctioned by the greater Rangers support.

Love the "Dungcaster" mention! Not seen that before. What a shitty little world Scottish football is. I've noticed the output of the spin doctors from SFA and SPL recently. Each time, it really sounds like their strenuous efforts have saved Scottish football from Armageddon. Do any non-Bears believe this unmitigated crappy distortion and lies.

At this moment in time, I truly wish I was a football journalist. Oh - the fun I would have!
-
Regarding Green's hints, I would hope not. I don't want us to be gerrymandered into a new version of a corrupt system. The SFL have accepted us, and we should be grateful. They are our new friends, and let's hope we can benefit each other. There are other future possibilities for far reaching benefits to Scottish football that don't include the machinations of Regan, Doncaster, Lawell, Petrie et al.

Not impossible. If that happened, I would like to think that the travelling Bears would smile, shake hands and offer congratulations.
