As far as I can recall, they didn't want us. Let's not forget that one.

From what I can surmise, there are a lot of Internet footprints being erased? Why? Not a convincing defence case.

From what I heard, he apologised, then had a 10 minute rant - using what he'd skimmed from the appeal papers - about how we were still morally out of order. Then he apologised later. What he couldn't do was hide his bitter agenda. Reminiscent of a witch hunt against a suspected paedophile. Guy loses his job, life and reputation. Then the neighbours say sorry. Does it make it better? No. He is part to blame for what has happened. Not just to us - but to Scottish football. Although smart, he's an eejit of the highest order. Jim Traynor called it correct throughout and reminded him that we were talking about MIH not Rangers.

Murray calls for police investigation into leaks to BBC

Must admit he's found his voice again. I had worries that he'd been struck dumb. Money and self interest are such potent medicine are they not? -
Will Stewart Regan show some leadership .............
bluebear54 replied to RANGERRAB's topic in Rangers Chat
Cynicism aside. I'm in doubt as to whether he has any leadership skills. My take is that he is more of a politico type. Talks a good talk, avoids challenge and knows when to hide. But leader? No. Leaders are people like Churchill, Gandhi and many others Even Walter. Reagan? Give me a break. -
Don't know for definite bud. Read it somewhere in the last couple of days, and it seemed authoritative, but forget where. Perhaps Ff? Sure it will be written in the runes somewhere. Any tax lawyers here?

Murray calls for police investigation into leaks to BBC

This could be fun. Much as I would like to see the shoe on the other foot, and a bonfire of the travesties, I'll not get overly excited. -
I read somewhere that they can only appeal on a point of law. Not because they didn't like the ruling. The more erudite on here could confirm.

I appreciate GN because I can get some information and well informed comment and debate. And there is a general sense of togetherness and empathy. In recent weeks, GN has started to resemble some other places, and that I find a wee bit sad. However, I can see that I should be contributing more rather than complaining. Next post is about our young guns.

I'm clear I don't have a conscience. Well said Andy. I've noticed the standards dropping. I thought we were just getting a few more Tims on, and wasn't overly perturbed.

Probably a good shout, GA. We could do worse. -
Is Ally the Man for the job? - The McCoist Thread
bluebear54 replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
Much as he's a legend, and we all love him, it's really time to move aside. as it is for Durranty and McDowall. Anyone got any idea a) who would do a great job for us and b) who would want the job? -
Interesting story on one of our main critics the BBC.

This calls for a few FoIs to BBC Scotland. How many individuals are paid in this manner? For how long? Who? How much? It's your company guys. Ask away. -
What a superb article, Andy. Many thanks. There are many conflicting interests at play here, and I sometimes wonder if they are counter-productive. For example, I wonder if the recent over reaction to us has anything to do with other Clubs (Celtic in particular) promoting a siege mentality for economic reasons. I also wonder how much the SFA have been driven along by this. I also believe that the stricter policing is a result of the police wanting more money for policing matches, and therefore justifying their income by a higher public profile. Perhaps these issues combined with the new drive to independence and the "new need" for a justifiable national identity created a perfect storm. I may be wrong, and the SFA/SPL agenda may be down to pure vindictiveness. The police agenda may be down to opportunism. If that's the case, God help the game, because we're on the slippery slope. Your points on today's society are spot-on. And there - we are on the slippery slope.

What I find uncomfortable is the fact that he openly despises the majority of his colleagues. Not sure if this has anything to do with his professional position or his stance as a Bear. I suspect a lot of the former and a little bit of the latter.

Brilliant Steve I've researched it a bit before to settle misunderstandings on the bus. But this is a cracking piece of research. What a team we had through the sixties. Great work. Thanks.

Tragic for this to happen to any family. Billy Henderson was one of my idols as a young lad. I wish him and his family all strength in these trying times.

The BBC interview sounded very much like the first moves in their campaign to get CO removed. Wonder who will be the next president? John Reid?

I don't see the SPL as having a long term future. Also the SFA as presently structured is way past its sell by date. In my book there should be no Club interests involved in the SFA at all. Regarding Euro money, I'm not so sure. By all accounts we will have good financial figures this year, and we appear to be able to able to compete with anyone. European football is a different ball game. We would need big signing on fees, big wages and at the end of the day, it's a gamble. Producing quality players out of Auchenhowie year in year out is probably a more sound longer term business model. Two £5m sales a year is not unrealistic.

BBC Intro from last night - RFC Lodge Complaint
bluebear54 replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Bloody disgrace - and I'm no shrinking violet. The BBC have had this bias - nay vendetta - pointed out to them time after time and have consistently poo-pooed it. This time heads should roll, and there should be a clear out. -
Thanks BD - but nearly there already. Some may not have realised it and wil hence miss Big Jig's hat trick.

Heartfelt thanks to celtic & the green brigade

Thanks Enjoyed reading that. A warm welcome to the best Gers forum on the planet. -
I think this will prove to be a difficult square to circle for them. As far as I have read, there are three separate amounts: SPL prize money - ca £2.2m. Davis money (held by SFA) : ca £800,000. UEFA player compensation (held by SFA) : ca £330,000. I have a feeling that the EBT side letter investigation is as much about this money as title stripping. I think the SfA and the SPL want to keep the lot. Best case scenario for us is that anything owed pre-liquidation goes to the creditors and anything owed to us post liquidation we get as the side letters issue is nothing to do with us. But it will be a lot messier than that. Fun and games ahead.
