That's good to see. I presume that we will see an apology and retraction in their programme next time we're there?

Thanks STB - you're spot on. My new moan is about ALL those who are overpaid - eg CEOs. I must add players to my list. Present games would suggest that paying someone 10k a week doesn't get you much better value than if you paid them £100 a week. Likewise, I remain to be convinced that someone earning 350k a year is worth his/her salt. I'm also unconvinced that it's in the best interests of the economy. 10 to 20 people sharing that wage would contribute far more. Rant over - but thanks for pointing it out.
-
I read the prospectus last night - it only arrived on Saturday, probably due to the Christmas post. With a wee bit of cutting back, I could certainly invest. But I won't. Salaries of 350k plus are objectionable to me. Never mind options. As long as fat cats line their pockets I'm out of the picture. I'll save my money for when Rangers really need it. Not when the directors need it.

Way to deal with this is to present to the SFL a suggestion that copy should be passed by opponents for agreement in future. In our case, that should be part of JT's remit. Montrose don't worry me. In six months time, they'll still be in the Third Division.

Has anyRangers player in the modern game (post World War 2) scored a hattrick playingfor Scotland? If so, who? Yes. AlexScott against Northern Ireland in1961. (6-1) ColinStein against Cyprus in 1969.(8-0) Has any Rangers player ever scored two hat tricks for Scotland. If so, who? Yes. Bob Hamilton against Ireland in1901(11-0) and again against Ireland again in 1902 (5-1) Other hat tricks by Rangers players for the historians were: Charlie Heggie against Ireland in 1886. Here's another couple. Has any Rangers player in the modern game (post World War 2) scored a hat trick playing for Scotland? If so, who? Has any Rangers player ever scored two hat tricks for Scotland. If so, who? Answers in an hour for those who don't google. -
Tommy In Glasgow Calls USA Radio To Discuss Rangers Tax Case - Quality!
bluebear54 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I think this is genuine. First thoughts are that it's highly embarrassing for that lot to have prats like Tommy and Phil Magiigglybob as their spokesmen. Both total loonballs and fruitcakes. Therefore not dangerous. However, when QCs, lawyers and ex-Ministers also have loonball fruitcake ideas, that becomes dangerous. So best we know how to sort the wheat from the chaff. The most pertinent - and laughable - moment came when Tommy was ranting on about the Pope, the Knights Templar and the Masons, with the gobsmackingly damning evidence when he quoted his source as the DaVinci Code. The yank says "What's this got to do with football?" Classic. Absolute classic! What pub does Tommy drink in? That's what I would call entertainment. He's a stand-up waiting to happen. Highly entertaining! -
Allan McGregorâ??s fiancée tells Gers trolls where to Shev it
bluebear54 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
If I remember correctly, it was BMC and they were badged as Austin, Wolsley and Vanden Plas. This car was as seriously uncool as it gets. Shit dressed up as sugar! I was actually relieved when a tram hit it and wrote it off in Rotterdam. LOL. -

I used to have a yellow one of these. Shocking handling, shocking ride. Didn't have anything going for it. You could probably buy thousands of these with all the bling that Leah has on her fingers. -
Sixty-seven players 'in legal action' over Rangers contract transfer
bluebear54 replied to Steve1872's topic in Rangers Chat
I would like to think that this is another non-story that starts with a ten megaton explosion and ends (without being reported) as a damp squib. We'll have to wait and see. What strikes me is the number of Celtic fans who are professionally involved in sticking the boot in. Coincidence was counted out a long time ago in this multi-pronged attack in my book. Perhaps over to JT to earn his crust - although he doesn't start for a wee while yet. I see no reason why Traynor can't pull all the past year's threads together into a compelling narrative to present to the Government, UEFA and FIFA. And perhaps the COPFS. -
Rangers donate Dundee Utd Gate Receipt Share to Charity
bluebear54 replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
It's a marker GS - and a big one at that. Mark my words, there will be a few SPL teams contemplating this move. As you rightly point out, this is not just about the Cups. This has long term implications for them all. So - to all the SPL sides - make your bed, but be prepared to lie in it. Ball in your court time. -
Rangers donate Dundee Utd Gate Receipt Share to Charity
bluebear54 replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
No BD - but I smiled. The Club are refusing tickets because of the possibility of the feelings between rival fans escalating. All very admirable. We all just wish that CG had been clearer in his explanation of this. Donating the proceeds of Rangers share to worthy charities is a great move and much welcomed by this Bear. -
Seems a strange one but surely Scotzine wouldn't be so spectacularly wrong? I think he'd be excellent as our PR/media man. As always, when you have a job, your loyalties lie with those who provide the pay packet. Not sure what he'd bring to marketing however.
-
I meant that he is redundant in the superfluous connotation. What he attempts to do for a job is of no concern to me. What is of concern to me is that some people give him credence and believe that this pea brain has something valid to offer to the general debate. I don't. Therefore he's redundant.
-
Apologies, but Jum Spence IS redundant. Always has been.
-
Not enough Celtic minded souls on the board. I'll give 2-1 Petrie.
-
Delete. Sorry should have read GS's post. Also heard it was that really nice man Topping.
-
I enjoyed his goals and despaired at his workeate. He could have made so much more of his career But in the end, he left us for greed. By hey, Kris - thanks for the memories. Especially against Dundee United.
-
Yeps. They will never get a newspaper sale from me again. Furthermore - regarding this bunch that refer to themselves as the SPL - personally, I wouldn't do the proverbial if they were on fire. Never want to see any of them again. Sorry, but Motherwell was the last game. Stuff them. Given time, we can help to create something purer and ultimately less self-interested.

It's also quite alarming to see that so many journalistos can't see the wood for the trees.

Oh dear. Uncle Tom has changed horses in the middle of the stream. Unfortunately for Tom, a chap I truly used to admire as a fair sports journalist, he has consistently failed to grasp the basics of the EBT case, and its wider repercussions He has also failed to understand his complicity in the slurs against every Rangers fan and his witless contribution towards the crisis that awaits Scottish football. I wouldn't deem to say that Tom has a clear agenda. In fact he hasn't. It's clear that his agenda changes like the weather. This latest article is quite gobsmacking in its sparse, biased legal interpretation of the FTTT report Have you been going to law school in your spare time, Tom? Or have your master's lawyers written most of this for you? Of all your writings, Tom, this is your career high. A singular example of pseudo backslapping and backtracking, while still making it clear that you despise us. Come on, Tom, if you really feel it, come out and say it. You can't stand us. It would make it so much easier for you. Closets and all that. On second thoughts, forget it. As the Irish say - on your bike.

To be fair, Jimbo did point out that we had offered HMRC a £10m settlement. Did we? Or did MIH? A lot of things tend to get muddied. What is clear to me is that HMRC should never have been in a situation to oppose the CVA. I could have come forward with an airy-fairy concept that Rangers owed me £150m. No more far fetched than HMRC.

By the way - in my opinion this is not about us regaining our weighted position as the only show in town. This should be about the future of Scottish football. Never again should the interests of the few override the interests of the majority. We've been guilty of that, and Scottish football hasn't progressed. There are still parties visibly overriding the interests of the majority. Time for a root and branch solution. A professional solution. And we - and the SFL - have time on our side.
