  1. Agreed. He's a class act.
  2. I'm not really sure how people will take this but here goes. I've mentioned this before. I see disturbing parallels between last summer and the present day. Firstly, both periods are about our Club being shafted - particularly by the governing authorities, but also by a range of actors in the background. Both periods can be characterised by intense media attention and a continuous flow of "new" scoops, never allowing one particular issue to settle, thus leaving the fan base totally confused, divided and rudderless. Both periods are about those who lead our Club - or who would want to - also being divided, and being preoccupied. Too many balls in the air. Too many plates to spin. I really believe that reconstruction and our present confusion are interlinked. There are many small fish involved in the reconstruction issue, but equally there are some big movers and shakers too. It's not for nothing that Harper & McLeod have drawn up the new articles. And they won't be doing it for nothing either. There have been large wedges of wonga used to try and shaft us. More so than ever before in Scottish football - nay - World football. At the end of the day, a corporate takeover - or corporate mischief making at Rangers is small fry. In the corporate world, we are very small fish indeed. To be big, we need to be strong as a fan base and take no shit. We're either in or out. It's either our way or not at all. There is no Rangers without us. It can die, and we can bring it back to life. It is ours. It is only our history and our spending power that sustains it. Jerry Lee Lewis once said "In this world, you are either hot or cold. If you are lukewarm, the Lord will spew you out of his mouth." Call me a conspiracy theorist if you want. However, for me there's too much similarity in how so many different actors are playing the same role this time around again. They've come out of the woodwork to the same script, reading similar lines. Just too much like Groundhog Day.
  3. FS, many thanks for pointing that out. Given the germ of that idea, do you have any ideas along those lines?
  4. Then Rab, the games a bogey. Why don't we just stay where we are with friends and share the benefits we have. Like our fanbase and the media rights we can generate?
  5. Why doesn't RFFF fund a class action? Now? You don't need to win a court case. But a court case certainly takes the grease out of the engine
  6. If we supported another team, this shower of idiots wouldn't be tolerated. There would be screaming from the rooftops.
  7. I think fair redistribution is a good thing. However Craig has a very valid point in that there needs to be an even fairer system than that being proposed. It's a simple matter to make the increments less between SPL2 and 3 clubs and SPL1. With regards to governance, I'm sure that this will end up being a nastier and dumber version of the SPL. I don't see the smaller clubs surviving. Then there's the question of how Rangers fans will view it. How will it appear to them with so many having SKY subscriptions but the Club getting a pittance compared to - say - Raith Rovers - who might manage 50 subscribers. How would that affect away ticket sales in the future? By far the best move here would be for Scottish football to get Rangers fans on board again. Anything else, and the game will slowly die from its own venom.
  8. Let's start getting rid of the bad guys now then. Just in case the won't be gone. I would honestly rather pay for a season ticket to stay out of their setup than go along with this. The game needs purged.
  9. Not for this Bear, 54. I've now seen enough corruption to last me a lifetime.
  10. Certainly an option. But they don't need to breakaway. They are already the SFL. It would be SFL1 clubs who were breaking away. They're also open to litigation. It might not be successful, but it would certainly delay the start of the season. We're worth as much in sponsorship and media rights as the rest of the clubs. Time to stop lying down.
  11. Jeez. The soft sell starts. The game's a bogey. I can't honestly believe that every Club above us will end up with more money, we end up with less, and that money comes out of our pocket. And do you know what? They'll still be up shit street if five years time because they're all clueless.
  12. Does the timing of all this chaos seem coincidental to anyone? Is it not reminiscent of last year to anyone? It must be a stitch up. It just must be.
  13. This is not good news in my book. No talk of governance, articles, who's on the committees? Who's the big chiefs? i'll guarantee we will end up with less money than this season. Makes you wonder why we have more subscribers than the rest put together. Not to talk about away support. If this goes through I'll never be in an away ground again. Nor will I subscribe again to SKY or BT.
  14. I don't think that would work. However, the guilt thing would probably work if it was well enough publicised - down south. We would have to get accurate figures though.
  15. Maybe Craig Whyte could buy SKY with a loan from Ticketus against future subscriptions. Just a thought.
  16. EVERYONE talks about us bud. We're the only show in town.
  17. I used to play against Alfie Conn. The younger one by the way. Thought I'd mention it.
  18. I've seen a couple of polls - ours and FF. Now I know that we're not the whole fan base. However, I know a wee bit about polls and when you see results like 80/20 against, it's pretty obvious how the whole fan base would vote Actually the more I think about it, I think the Club should be asking us what we want. Failing that, then RST, the Assembly and all the forums etc.
  19. I'm sure he still logs in to FF. Would imagine he'll get the message. He did really well out of us. I would like to think he regrets how he treated us, but I doubt it.
  20. It's like Gribz was saying on the other thread. It's going to get messy.
  21. Let's get this right. Smith is saying that these clubs want to resign from the SFL but they also want to oust the board. Would this be before they resign or after? Does Smith take his readers for muppets? Just a thought, but is this anything to with Pete the Jap's takeover of Scottish football? If he gets another 12 onside, he's got a pretty hefty argument that he speaks for 24 professional teams ie Scottish football. Like many, I just don't see the angle here. But I bet that Regan, Doncaster and Pete the Jap know. Gribz, I totally agree, and think we're in for a pretty messy summer. Actually very messy. EDIT: this move will also give the SPL more turnover. They will be the big boys of Scottish football. It will be a takeover.
  22. And they'll be expecting 10,000 of us to turn up twice next season?
  23. Has your pal done an extensive consultation on this, or is it just his solitary opinion?
  24. It wisnae me
  25. Can we get back to basics. Who wrote this? Does it have anything whatsoever to do with Rangers, and how? can someone enlighten? Strikes me it's mischief making of the highest order by our dependable guardians at the Beeb. I tire of these media nonentities making a living on our popularity. If it's the last thing I do I will show them up for the misguided bigots that they are. Sportsound tonight, Spiers wasn't only an embarrassment to his profession, he was an embarrassment to himself. How this chappie manages to masquerade as being bright and informed quite fails me.
