  1. First class mate. I admire your tenacity. I find it a bit strange that HMRC make the comment "HMRC don't comment on speculation about breaches of confidentiality" when instead their best method of prevarication would be to say that it was the subject of a police investigation. That seems strange to me.
  2. Absolutely belter of a day here too. Is it really only five years ago? Seems like ten. I couldn't get a ticket for love nor money but had decided to go down with some friends in a minibus. On Tuesday, Amanda from the TO called me at work and asked if I wanted a ticket. Couldn't believe it. It was £90, but perfect position on the half way line behind the press boxes. Had to pick the ticket up at the Midland hotel. So we left about 6am, and the way down was bouncing. It was really something else. Parked at Wigan and got the tram in. Arriving at Piccadilly was incredible. Headed down to the Midlands hotel, picked up my ticket, had a couple of pints, and met up with some friends. They'd taken over the outside of an Italian. Glorious sunshine, so we parked there all day eating and drinking Perroni. Headed up to the ground around six, and that was awesome too. The match was a disappointment, but still an experience. Heard on the way back from the ground that things had taken off. Got an old friend on a train which took ages, and then my mate and I tried to negotiate out way back to Wigan. Bumped into loads of riot police, who were OK after they sussed we were the good guys. Eventually back home about 11am or something. Exhausted but exhilarated. And a wee bit disappointed at the result and the aftermath.
  3. How much is founded on speculation and how much is it likely? Although it won't please everyone, I think just now we desperately need strong ownership to the next five or so years. So I'd like to see DK succeed.
  4. I'm getting sick and tired of this nonsense.
  5. Well spotted. I'm as much to blame as others. However, it's a reaction. I put it down the most turbulent period in our history. I do think that a lot of us are traumatised. It's been tough.
  6. What's the ending like? Do we lift the CL trophy and all our detractors greet for evermore?
  7. I would like Ally to around the Club forever - as a guardian. I'm not too convinced on him being a manager.
  8. Agree Amms. He had some stinkers. So did Ally. But when they finally clicked and were both on fire, we were dynamite.
  9. DB We've had superb European nights. Taming Bayern in the 70s comes to mind. Barcelona was brilliant. Parma was OK. Lyon at home was shocking. Away was awesome. So yes, you're right. We must remember the good with the bad. Malmo, followed by Maribor was a disgrace. That was my point.
  10. Goodness sake! We got this guy from Kilmarnock. Who'd have thought to look that far. By the way, I'm uneasy about this one.
  11. Just had laugh there. Paul Hutcheon calling himself an Investigations Editor. His Mummy must be proud. Dearie me.
  12. GS They've been run by crooks since I was born.
  13. Walk before you run. I truly think we should concentrate on Div 2 first. I still have horrendous memories of Malmo and Maribor.
  14. For what it's worth, I'll put in my tuppence worth. First of all I don't think it's bright to air your linen in public. Particularly when you're the most successful Club in the history of football and your neighbour is the most paranoid, misguided and offended institution in the history of the game. I would have thought that he would be happy to redeem himself by "community service" without this messy high profile nonsense. Four and a half grand is quickly recovered by painting, gardening etc. There again, I don't know the background.
  15. Is this because of the outcome of the investigation? Purge, cleansing or clear-out - whatever we call it. Time we did it. Scottish football is in the doldrums. It needs us back there winning everything and pumping zillions into everyone's pockets. The Offended Horde don't have the dosh to support Scottish football. And let's face it, they're less than graceful winners, even when they cheat themselves to it. I think this is a serious statement and I think it might be good for you and me. I would like some decent smart people running our Club. Not a bunch of spivs.
  16. Double post Apologies
  17. I laughed at the alcoholic blur bit. That was my enduring memory. I was in the Copland that day - and what a day it was. Probably the perfect football match. Super weather. Great football. Brilliant result. I "missed" the bus home, and had a pint in almost every pub on the way home. Managed about a mile and every pub if I remember. Everywhere was bouncing. Good days. Managed the other 70 miles the next morning. Not having mobile phones wasn't such a bad thing.
  18. Nice one. Nice to see high profile Bears coming out and not being scared to shout it from the rooftops. Wonder what kind of flak Jeff and SKY are getting? Bet your average offended tim has gone into overdrive. It's what they do. You know it doesn't make sense.
  19. Who wrote that? And when?
  20. Great idea Frankie Pre ordered - thanks for the link. Hope it arrives in time for the holiday.
  21. Nope. Too tall for Nacho. It's Ally and big Davie Weir.
  22. All interesting, and thanks for the updates. Bears in charge are ultimately better than what we have now. Like the idea of King, and have a suspicion his stake is more than would appear. Just a shame his Mum didn't call him William. Still King is eminently more suitable than Green and Whyte.
  23. The Club doesn't need to take action. It wouldn't anyway. WE are the Club. Our money. Our choice. ST time approaching. Times like this we should grow a pair. And so should Ally, Walter and the other bystanders by the way. While I think of it, our various "leaders" should also grow a pair. Time to unite and look after ourselves. If we look after ourselves, Scottish football would be saved. If not - it's buggered.
  24. OK Zappa Exec Summary. Bad guys SPL, SFA, all pro SFL clubs, most of the media. Good guys Rangers and Rangers fans, one or two in the media. Background Bad guys intent on slowly humiliating and destroying us Proposal Rangers fans unite under a common flag and facilitate Rangers regaining its proper place in world football including a high profile exposé of how we - the fans and soul of the Club - have been shafted. And that is not a royal shafting. These beggars don't do anything royally unless it suits their purpose.
  25. Also here. I hope TF we're in a better place. However, I have serious concerns. And I worry.
