Daly Mail story re soldiers/Rangers and "Nazi style salutes"
bluebear54 replied to SteveC's topic in Rangers Chat
Any chance a former Westminster Minister has had a hand in this one? -
It would amount to restriction of trade. The SFA or their tin pot lawyers can't just willy nilly override European legislation. They would be disallowing someone to rightfully and lawfully take up employment. This would be another Bosman moment.
-
Despite their best intentions, SFA articles of governance certainly don't override Scots, UK and particularly European law. If AIM don't have an issue, my take is that the SFA are on a sticky wicket. They might try to chance their mitt, but I would fancy DK's chances in the courts.

I've never advocated tit for tat. That's just crass and unhelpful. It's also unhelpful to think that this should just be ignored. As I've said many times, it's concerted, it's relentless and it's ultimately damaging. Very Goebbelsesque. There are other ways of dealing with it. For example, take note two new articles on us on the BEEB website. Not one mention of sevco, old club, old co etc etc. Wonder why?

Also note from FF that Lindsay Herron is commenting on Twitter about sub-editorial tampering with his copy. Apparently changed Lindsay's "old company entered liquidation" to "old club entered liquidation." http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/439195/Ex-Rangers-director-Dave-King-returns-to-end-infighting-at-Ibrox Not that I ever buy the Express - or far that matter any other paper - I stopped donkey's years ago because of all this. Still there needs to be a mark made.

That lot are quite unreal. Do a Google search for "Rangers FC" and this comes up along with the real Google Map link: (Zombie) Rangers Football Club (Zombie) Ibrox Stadium 150 Edmiston Dr, Glasgow 0845 790 9090 Didn't notice this there yesterday. Sooner or later some of these eejits should be sued for corporate damage. Quite sad they are so scared of competition.

I beg to differ and tend to agree with amms. I've always had thoughts that it won't be a stroll in the park. Raith, Hamilton, Hearts, Falkirk will all be tough. Besides, hopefully we won't have any away support at these games

I note the differing rhetoric of "fan ownership" and "fan involvement."

Rangers board linked with bid to recruit Longmuir
bluebear54 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Absolutely dB. Totally correct. Clubs like Falkirk, Raith and Hamilton actively chased their own self interest and dumped Longmuir right in it - all in the name of greed. Longmuir was left with no alternative as he had to have a democratic mandate. Why some of us are actively trying to rewrite history to pretend that Longmuir deliberately folded a straight flush I just can't comprehend. We would be better off remembering the ones in the old SFL Div 1 who were more interested in the filthy lucre than the long term future of Scottish football. I for one don't think these Clubs deserve any of our financial support in the future. -
Rangers board linked with bid to recruit Longmuir
bluebear54 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
That's a quite different proposition. I think D'Art quite rightly points out that the an offer to join the present one is a poisoned chalice. He could very well bring something to the table of a new board. He's au fait with the mechanics and politics of the various football governing bodies and could well have a role to play in that capacity. -
Quite what does this speculation mean? I can see the logic in suggesting that there's an Easdale family trust hidden there but why keep it hush hush for so long - and even more so now. Since it's being suggested that a much larger Easdale stake could be kept under wraps, does this suggest that the investment is being kept low profile for a reason, eg as regards HMRC?

Rangers board linked with bid to recruit Longmuir
bluebear54 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I'll go along with that one Night Owl. Longmuir never came across as daft and I'd be very surprised if he took it. In fact I'd be very surprised if anyone took it. By the way - I notice the tedious inaccurate double comment about a liquidated club. This really must stop. It's so Goebbelsesque. -
I was also pondering this one , Andy. Is it not more likely that it's taking time for the real power brokers behind Blue Pitch Holdings and Margarita Holdings to come grips with the situation and to come to a consensus (or come to a consensus that is legally viable.)

Those two articles above are vastly different. Presumably, Record Sport is the gospel according to PM/JM. Is it? As regards Richard Wilson's article, who is briefing that one? I find it hard to believe that it's DK, and it's very different to Record Sport's take on the PM/JM stance, so probably not PM/JM. I'm lost. I want to be found.

RST - Jim McColl and Paul Murray to meet three fan groups
bluebear54 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
On the back of BrahimHemdani's comment that "none of these groups represent me or the vast majority of Rangers fans" I have a thought. I do think that your idea, Frankie, of a meeting with book holders in a sound one. However this sparks a wee idea. Why not take it further and have a "Season Ticket Holder's Association" or some such thing? We should think about the benefits before we put forward the usual obstacles. -
Financial Times: Rangers in danger of getting red card over governance
bluebear54 replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
Thanks for sight of those emails Zappa. I haven't seen them before. Very illuminating, but scary. At least Bluedell paints a better picture when he quotes the Companies Act.- 17 replies

Financial Times: Rangers in danger of getting red card over governance
bluebear54 replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
This is surely something that Daniel Stewart must be aware of and must be seen to be making moves to address. They must be dim if they don't realise their corporate risk in all of this.- 17 replies

Financial Times: Rangers in danger of getting red card over governance

Surely the Easdales and Stockbridge are limited in their choices. I can't believe that there are not some serious movements being made in the background by the more traditional investors.- 17 replies

I still harbour a desperate desire to see all these culprits named and shamed and dragged through a court of law.
-
STB - I quite honestly fail to see why you see PM as such a bête noir ahead of the likes of CG, CW, CM, BS and the Easedales.

Totally agree. Golden opportunity for us to to bring him back in charge of defensive coaching (all levels) at Auchenhowie and the first team squad. It's about team we we were were building in cradle to grave capacity. No need for different mentalities. Any defensive player, any level would fully understand the systems he's expected to perform within. On another level SDOW's a motivator and great health example. Just what's needed. Im convinced he would do a great job for us and produce some great marketable product for us, and also improving our defensive position into the bargain.
-
Can't agree more RR. In a perfect world, players (or product if you like) should be costed, and we should certainly be looking for a return year on year. Perhaps we should be looking at more foreign talent - also coaching wise. Why we never took on board the bold Brian or some of the Dutch talent we had, I'll never know.

Has Dave King made any comment about this meeting at all? Or is it all pie in the sky from Jack the pieman?- 80 replies
