The "no stone will remain unturned" quote from a "source" leads me to think its a piece of tosh.
-
Be interesting to see what the piece says. Might just be a bit of spin from the usual source. There's a world of difference between a "grilling" and making a statement. That's selling newspapers getting in the way of journalism.

More likely 2 games without scoring before the piranhas go for the kill. But, from my point of view, I'd go for it. If the money isn't daft, it's a no brainer. I'd like to see him back.

Good photos.

Dundee Courier online is running with the story that he's turned it down. http://www.thecourier.co.uk/sport/football/dundee-fc/scot-gardiner-staying-at-dundee-1.153522?

It's a bloody challenge to be a Bear these days. I used to look up the backgrounds of players we were linked with. Now it's looking for where new directors sit in the spivvery league tables.

I always wonder how much this kind of "scoop" is desperation to sell newsprint and how much it I is well informed journalism.

Which Remembrance Day service did Regan and Doncaster attend to honour footballers who have fallen? Was there not a tradition of this?
-
I don't think Regan will go. If he did, the replacement would be headhunted under the same circumstances and we could end up with someone who makes Regan look like a Bear. What our Club has missed - most probably due to its internal distractions or Anglo-disinterest - is a hard ball attitude about being at the centre of Scottish football's decision making processes. Rangers represent more Scottish football fans than any other Club. The fact that they have slowly been disenfranchised is perhaps Regan's greatest folly in his headlong rush to destroy The game up here.

Great piece Andy. Food for thought as always.

Even though we've outspent everyone else, maintaining a 100% run in football is a pretty difficult thing to do. We actually deserve respect for this run we're on - from both within and without the Club.

Thanks Juan Good read. I.m like a few and in a quandary about Peralta and Temps. It's debatable if Temps should be given more time. My take is he's a player who improves the more confidence he has, and it's probably quite low just now. I'd be prepared to let him have a run on the right wing and see. More often than not Wallace is doing the left flank work anyway. It's a toss up between Peralta and Faure for RB, and I'd go with Faure, who seems to be more composed. We should win this one but it will be a drawn out affair again no doubt.

Not at all barca. This is virtually quoted from Celtic's media release on the event - although the Dutch police might be interested in seeing it as its a load of tosh. Dutch TV and SKY TV have another take on it - with footage. I was comparing the two events - Manchester and Amsterdam. Both shameful - but one in particular bringing shame on Scots on the international stage. The comparison is simple. The level of letters of complaints that the Scottish Government, MSPs and MPs received regarding Manchester was staggering. That is why they took the action they did. The media centred on the injured policeman - human interest blah de blah. Is our media not interested in the health of the Dutch police officers? Any similar level of complaint to the Scottish Government, MSPs and MPs about Amsterdam and bringing into question bias, would put all and sundry in an interesting position.
-
It's also not the remit of the media to call, or not call, for one. That was my fundamental point. Regan and Doncaster sit on their hands until a headline hits them over the heid.
-
I was in Manchester too, and equally, I was pretty embarrassed. However, I personally don't think this thread should divert itself into a Manchester navel scratching exercise. The current point of the matter is that, after the loutish drunken hooliganism on display by Celtic fans in Amsterdam last night, and given that international news agencies have been running this for 24 hours, Scotland's reputation has now been dragged through the gutter once again. The volume of complaints and correspondence following Manchester was absolutely staggering, ultimately forcing the Scottish Government to act accordingly. Perhaps we as a support don't see the point in complaining to the Scottish Government, other authorities or the media. I really don't see any difference in scale between the loutishness in Manchester or the loutishness in Amsterdam last night. Perhaps, there were a lot less Celtic fans present last night, and, from reports, there were a lot more Police officers injured. That fact alone, in my book, should ensure that all the relevant authorities in Scotland act accordingly. That fact alone should also ensure that the media should damn this latest episode of Scotland shaming itself once more on the international stage.

Great read Andy. Couldn't agree with you more.

So how long is it going to take the SFA to undertake the fit and proper person test? And, goodness me, I see no mention of a fit and proper person test in any of today's media. Spiers, English and the usual suspects must have overlooked this. No?

Should we be concerned that the AGM will be the 19th. That's 2 days after the CG lock in, I believe.

Anti-sectarian football laws fear as fans complain
bluebear54 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I believe that Andy's ironic take is pretty close to reality. Although politicians are the visible face of government policy, they rarely act of their own free will. They are usually pushed and prodded by pressure groups. Pressure can be applied in many ways - most often not particularly wholesome or necessarily in the interest of the general public. 26th's perspective above is probably close, but perhaps focuses on the politicians instead of who was pulling the strings. By the way 26th, who was Rose meeting with at Glasgow University? That would be interesting.- 33 replies

Anti-sectarian football laws fear as fans complain
bluebear54 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Agreed Andy. Pretty conclusive evidence from the Police there, and tends to rubbish all the nonsense making agit-prop that emanates from the Yahoos. It won't stop it however. I noted Frank Mulholland's comment about "identical letters" being received also. It would appear that this has been mainly a GB organised effort (and not well-organised at that.)- 33 replies

It's not hidden away mate. It's there for all to see. You just need to know how to find it. You'd better believe that thousands of Yahoos know exactly how to find it.- 33 replies
