Agreed The SPFL "Premiership" and SPFL "Championship" is equally sooooooo English .......

If his moaning was long and loud, it highlights that the main thrust of the piece was highly accurate. Britney has spent so much time with the permanently offended ones, that it's rubbed off. Also rubbed all of his Baptist values away to boot. More pleasant news about Davie Weir. If you're reading this, Davie, you're welcome back anytime. Even for an article on Gersnet.

I should pay attention more.

Just interested crucible. Wiki shows Celtic having won 32/38 games in 15/16 and 27/38 in 16/17. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1915–16_in_Scottish_football http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1916–17_in_Scottish_football Does that mean their run of 61 wins was uninterrupted, and everything either side of that, they lost or drew?
-
And why does this not show on the UEFA website? Surely an oversight that needs clarification?
-
So beating the likes of Morton is merely a given in the footballing world?

I was thinking about our 19 game winning run. UEFA have an interesting article on unbeaten runs. http://www.uefa.com/memberassociations/association=esp/news/newsid=1588768.html I'd forgotten that Celtic had gone on a pretty extensive run about 10 years ago. How much I would love to beat that record and catch the excuses and fallout. You just know it makes sense. Seven to go? Europe's longest winning league runs 29 games – SL Benfica (Portugal) 1971-73 28 games – NK Dinamo Zagreb (Croatia) 2006-06 25 games – Celtic FC (Scotland) 2003-04 22 games – PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands) 1987-88 18 games – FH Hafnarfjördur (Iceland) 2004-05 17 games – FC Steaua Bucureşti (Romania) 1988 17 games – FC Dinamo Bucureşti (Romania) 1988 17 games – FC Internazionale Milano (Italy) 2006-07 16 games – Valur Reykjavík (Iceland) 1978 16 games – FC Barcelona (Spain) 2010-11 16 games – Olympiacos FC (Greece) 2005-06 15 games – SL Benfica (Portugal) 1963 15 games – Real Madrid CF (Spain) 1960-61 15 games – FC Bayern München (Germany) 2005 15 games – AC Sparta Praha (Czech Republic) 1999-00 15 games – Bangor City FC (Wales) 2010

Malcolm Murray: Rangers won't survive unless I'm voted back
bluebear54 replied to j1mgg's topic in Rangers Chat
I agree with Darthter's line of thought. I was also thinking along the lines of who would be strong enough to sit on this Board. My take is that whoever sits there is going to need big cajones. Although their heart is in the right place, and they're experienced/smart enough, I don't see the Murrays having the last vital bit in their make up. Ruthlessness. As for the other two nominees, I wouldn't know. Maybe DK has the right stuff?- 36 replies

It's not a constitution per se, or at least of the nature I would like to see. This is an election pledge. A properly consulted constitution would be an excellent idea. We do, however, need the right kind of governance structures to be able to hold any office bearers (board, fans or otherwise) to account.

The Government was fast enough out of the blocks with the Offensive Behaviour Act. Flares need to be licensed and their sale properly restricted. They are inherently dangerous. Even more so in the hands of neds on Buckie. If there was a will, flares could be marked so that they can be scanned at point of entry and identified at grounds - Clubs actively helping to put a stop to them. Anyone crosses the line, hammer them hard. But that will appear to be like too much like common sense for the powers that be.

Jim McColl backs Graham Wallace as Rangers chief exec
bluebear54 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I see your point compo, but I'm not too sure that I'm wishing it were the 20th. I'm dreading an unresolved ongoing saga of more of the same afterwards.- 17 replies

Personally, I don't see outright ownership as holding a bright future. However, some sort of fans' governance body to hold the Board to account - with constitutional clout - could be a way forward. If you think about Parliament, then sort of cross between the House of Lords and the Opposition.

No regrets for Dons chief Milne on Rangers decision
bluebear54 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I've heard quite a bit about "moving on" from the actors, but I've yet to see any evidence. -
I was thinking about your earlier quote of 5,000 to DD £20. My first thought was to cynically cite apathy as totally precluding a number in that ballpark. On second thoughts, it's perfectly feasible if all our various factions all sign up. We could pay Toxic or Merlin to take the piss in the media, pointing out all our differences. Or I'm sure there are other bloggers around who would happily do a good job.

Great piece Andy - superb. I'm in complete agreement but in my moments of browsing through other less cerebral forums (on both sided of the divide) I seriously doubt if ditching the mutual baggage is an option in the foreseeable future. It takes two to Schuhplattler, and I don't see anyone rushing up to the dance floor.

Says to me there's no clear cut winner yet as regards votes. Therefore this latest spin.

Well said PapaBear. The phenomenon of bigotry and hatred on forums is well spread across all Clubs by the way - although I must say that I haven't checked out most of the lower league forums. What sets Celtic fans apart in an internet aspect is the level of complex machinations that they are prepared to hatch in order to attempt to hurt us. In the long term, they are succeeding in making us far more newsworthy than their own Club, and so becoming even more vital to the Scottish football industry.

Barry's going to be a manager though - so I read.

Agreed PapaBear - I remember too many midweek games in mid winter where I seriously asked myself if I was a masochist. Recent one to come to mind is the 7-1 drubbing we gave Dundee Utd when Boyd scored 5. It was absolutely Baltic that night, and no weather to either watch or play football. Watching football on a balmy summer evening in summer clothes and shades appeals a lot more.

Sorry guys, in my book, any discussion of morality in the context of Scottish football is totally misplaced. The way I see it is that morality plays no part whatsoever in the sordid operation of our media, our larger clubs, their fan bases or particularly our governing bodies. For a long time now we have been swimming in an extremely filthy pond and it's becoming filthier by the day.

Was he not referring to the Bheast fan base?

The huffy reference to journalism is a give away. I deplore Irvine lowering the tone of our Club the way he has done.

If Daly ends up injured, we'd be toiling. Realistically we need some kind of cover for Little ASAP.
