Tom English interviews Rangers CEO Graham Wallace
bluebear54 replied to Steve1872's topic in Rangers Chat
Comparing the questions to the responses makes it simple to understand why Wallace is a CEO and English is a football hack at the Scotsman. After reading Wallace's responses, I'm willing to give him time and trust for now. As regards English, I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.- 56 replies

Keith Jackson: Rangers want players to take a pay cut..
bluebear54 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Of course Andy. When you're Rangers these days, you're damned if you do, and you're damned if you don't. We are a vehicle for selling media space or print. The more they talk about us, the more we watch or buy. One would think we would learn.- 53 replies

Keith Jackson: Rangers want players to take a pay cut..
bluebear54 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
For a Club with our size of support, I don't see anything wrong with this. Jackson either doesn't like us one bit, or his editor has asked him to pepper his prose with "eye-watering", "head-melting" and "eye-popping", and to make sure with liberal use of "arrogance", "extravagance" and "basketcase". How would the media ever shift print without the famous Glasgow Rangers?- 53 replies

Chris Graham makes you smile on a Monday morning

Must be true. I could never imagine 10 people regarding Britney as a font of truth - never mind 25,000. -
The way I see it these days is whatever appears in the press isn't as a result of of astounding journalism. It is material that is being fed to the hacks. What exercises my mind is why this latest fixation with cost cutting in the media. There's a reason and it isn't as simple as it appears.

Andy If you truly accuse Timothy of cosying up to one particular party, you are very, very, sorely misguided. Timothy is smart enough to have his/her fingers all over every single party you care to think of. And the ones that have yet to be invented.

Victor Valde says the best atmosphere he's ever played in was at Ibrox
bluebear54 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I must say that I've failed to notice them splashing their profits about by investing in players or facilities. -
Really sad news. A young man still, and a part of the Rangers family. Condolences to those near ones he left behind.

I really can't see Laxey sitting there happily seeing their investment dwindling. I worry that there's some other game plan afoot.

So, 1p for Janefield Street, Kinloch Street, and Dalriada Street was he going market rate? The sale price of any land or property, and the value that the Co-op put on it as collateral should be very telling, and pretty difficult to wriggle out of. That statement was very strong, but very misleading. They've known about this investigation for some time, from what I can gather. Definitely no media frenzy as yet. I'm not holding my breath.

Such karma. The Eastern Horde were innovators in bringing complaint after complaint about Rangers to officialdom and the media - they've been at it for years now. The songs we sing, referees, our financial affairs, our registration status, whether we should have dispensation to prepare for a European final, anti Irish bias, anti Celtic bias, anti Catholic bias - the list is huge. How sweet it is that they are now reflecting on the wisdom of the old saying "People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones." They have also found this out in relation to the Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Act. Of course, the land deals around that whole area stink to high heavens. I'm just surprised that it has taken this long to get this moving. Interesting is that if the EC are involved, the authorities here will certainly not want egg on their faces, nor be dragged into this as not having investigated it. That includes Police Scotland if any law has been broken. I'll be interested to see what the media make of this one. If they ignore it, there's clear proof of pro-Celtic bias in the media.

Rangers have to play the game when it comes to fixture congestion
bluebear54 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
If Coisty had wanted to make a point on behalf of the fans, he should have complained about all the midweek away games and the strange rescheduling for the benefit of media coverage. -
That they are elected is something I find much more disturbing.

Where can we see viewing stats?

As things stand, I don't see it as a foregone conclusion that will stroll through next season. We may very well not be top of the league at times. What will happen then? I still remember the hapless effort against Malmo and Maribor. And that was with players who should have destroyed both teams. At the end of the day, discussion won't decide Ally's future. Bums on seats will.

OK, GS, I'm listening. Taking that further, what does CF represent? What sort of political view? Pro-Rangers or anti-Rangers?

Totally agree. Going back over the years, we have a rich national variety of ex-players We should be using them. -

I've never believed these are all genuine either. I think there's been a smart mix of real stuff and forgeries. What I've never been able to understand is why no one - apart from Murray apparently - has bothered trying to put a stop to the release of any real material. If it was affecting me, I would be fizzing, and would have it stopped promptly.

Agreed. That's Moshni now pigeon-holed and he will now become a vehicle for selling crappy newspapers. Truth matters not a whit as long as the media paint you a reputation.

Very much so. Since Coisty, Scotland's best striking prospect was always Boyd. Just a shame he didn't apply himself more. The natural instinct was always there.
