I would love to know how the police investigation is going. I do think the media and the CP PR machine bandy these rumours about with impunity to make their allegations appear to be more serious.
-
If this is the crux of Police Scotland's case, all it proves is that Green's prints weren't on a particular piece of paper (before or after it was printed.) It would also suggest that Police Scotland are particularly dense. As a matter of factual enlightenment, Police Scotland are very far from dense and are actually rather smart. This would suggest to me that whoever is putting this story about is also smart and thinks that we are dense.

Ha ha! Excellent.

Absolutely PapaBear. This is grotesquely hypocritical of Lennon. He is one of the very first to cry sectarianism or victimisation. Yet he is also one of the first on the ramparts to defend what he perceives is "his own" when they are accused of sectarianism, bigotry or thuggery. I don't see him as an honest man and I think that he knows full well what he is doing. Unfortunately, I don't believe that his politico-religiously motivated stance has any place in Scotland, let alone in football. Perhaps he would be better served taking up a career in NI politics.

I don't think the statement was a threat against the screwball. I think it was directed more at the media and the Scotsman in particular. Quite rightly too.

I was thinking about this yesterday after Andy's post and - without the thread getting into a pro or anti indepence mode - TTM is quite correct. If there is a yes vote, and if we remain as attached to the Union Flag (which would cease to exist - or at least the blue part would) as we are now, how would we be perceived by the media and other fans?

Wouldn't be surprised if it's already a done deal. Owen Coyle taking over. The mystery is which club would be idiotic enough to take on Lennon.

Seems like Lawwell would be better served taking his issue up with UEFA. They are the ones who rate Ibrox as being superior to the midden.

A big issue, Hildy, is that some of us seem all too happy to regard ourselves as the "black sheep" of Scottish football. The behaviour of Celtic fans this season has been nothing short of bigoted and thuggish. Yet you certainly won't hear Celtic fans regarding themselves as "black sheep." Nor will you see any slurs in the media.

This is just as well. There would have been no end of bad blood and unwanted PR for us if Dolly had come to Ibrox.

I would prefer the midden to be honest.

Griffiths who?

Apologies accepted Andy. I've got a blue one too, just to stress the point.

Frankie - our fans would also have to better understand democratic processes. Recently I've seen far too much spin, threat and vindictiveness from various individuals/factions to believe our fans as a whole are mature enough to make it work.

What have you got against Arran sweaters, Andy? I've got one, but am certainly not an activist, and certainly don't see total fan ownership as being good for either Rangers or the game in general. Not until Scottish fans grow up.

One of our best signings ever and scored a good few goals to savour forever. Happy Birthday Jorg.

While most Rangers fans are naturally interested in seeing these issues being progressed, in the interests of proving the underhanded nature of Celtic and it's high profile supporters, the issues also scream out to be progressed by those who have something to gain politically by publicly ridiculing the Labour Party and pointing out their corruption. It may well be that it would be simpler to attack the matter from the opposite angle. It would also be simpler to get press coverage were it more of a mainstream issue rather than an anti-Celtic one. However, I'm sure that PJZ will have given this ample consideration.

Rangers administration 25-point penalty threat
bluebear54 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Well that's certainly some wishful thinking from the Scotsman. How that rag is fallen in recent years. -
If whoever makes a FOI request is dissatisfied, they have a right to ask for a review by the same organisation. If they are still dissatisfied, they have a right to ask the Scottish Information Commissioner to consider the case.

It would certainly go a long way to restoring a bit of trust in proceedings if we used some other method for PR. I must say, I didn't see the BS thing coming - at least not so quickly. There's a solid reason for it and we'll probably never find out. Which is a shame. I still think he has a little bit of Karma coming to him. What he did with the video and Murray was despicable.

Has the decision been appealed?

SFA Notice of Complaint: John Gemmell (Stenhousemuir)
bluebear54 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
This is even more unnecessary fall out following the posturing of the Eastern Horde. Celtic and large swathes of their support have got a helluva lot to answer for. They've changed what was once entertainment and distraction for a large part of Scotland into something that can barely be recognised.- 16 replies

So, at the end of the day, it depends how we will have the wool pulled over our eyes this time. Because the ONLY thing that keeps our Club going is us. And that's the ONLY reason that the spivs are here. Our dosh.

Quite honestly, I thought that when David Murray rode off into the sunset we had seen the last of smoke and mirrors. How wrong I was. I couldn't even start to say that I know what's going on with my Club. And anything in the media leaves me more clueless.

Hearts have never been the subject of the type of irrational and rancid hatred from a large part of the Celtic support. And they have never been a threat to Celtic getting in the Champions League. They have also never had the success we have had, nor have they thrown money at other Scottish Clubs for their best players. Therein lie the differences. We on the other hand have consistently bought other Clubs' prize assets, and that has always engendered resentment. The fact that the money kept Clubs like Hearts, Dundee Utd and Hibs going seems to be forgotten. Yes, we were a victim of Whyte, but we were also a victim of jealousy, bitterness and resentment. Add in the fact that writing sensationalist stories about Rangers guarantees newspaper sales and you have the perfect storm that we are still part of.
