  1. Lets get rid of Barry or shagger first surely.......... I can however see Madjid being the next one to leave us, I hope I am wrong.........
  2. if we had bought players before our euro exit we wouldn't have needed to sell Boyd..............
  3. Lucky white heather, Velicka up front it is then or maybe we're going back to a 4-5-1!!!
  4. We're selling because we have to m8 as Frankie is telling us. We won't be signing any replacement for Boyd, we have to work with what we have unless more go of course!! It looks like Lafferty or velicka up front with KM......... Why didn't we take the money on offer for McCulloch at the start of the season and why were we allowed to spend as much as we did? Why did we sign Daily on another year, waste of money we can't afford.
  5. great work from Mr Bain as usual
  6. ask for a refund m8 ............
  7. totally pissed off with this..........can you get a refund half way through a season?
  8. he will want high wages surely? another waster who has went backwards sonce he has left us. i hope he stays away for good..........
  9. Not that long ago they were the ones nearly out of business and now it's us, so it's turned full circle. It can only be down to one thing the way the clubs are ran. They have bought players who at least seem to play for the jersey or at least get moneyback or a profit for the duds or fringe players who are not. They have also hardly spent much on players the last few years and qualified for Europe and brought some youngsters through. We have done the opposite.
  10. i hope this is true, we all know he is a good bear but he is no better than what we have already and I don't see any point in signing him...........
  11. I think the only obvious people to suffer are those who have lost jobs during the credit crunch? Maybe I am wrong? I would say food shopping is not that much dearer and if you shop sensible then you could easily save money. Fuel was up high before the crunch really came in and now has came way down again. Most businesses are saying people are not spending as much so what are they doing with it? People who have tracker rate mortgages are so much better off, and only people with savings are being hit by the interest rates aren't they? It has not made much difference to me yet in anyway, my job is safe and I actually feel better off than I have for a while. And I have enough homebrew for a few months at least  And before you say it Ian I know the next round is mine :fish: Sorry if this is off topic, just bored at work today being my first day back :box:
  12. I like this, stolen from FF!!!
  13. i walked head first into that have a gid yin anyway ya bass
  14. pay attention ffs stop thinking about tenerife!!! :box:
  15. KRIS BOYD'S departure from Rangers won't spark a fire sale of their top stars during the current transfer window. The Ibrox striker is weighing up the option of joining former manager Alex McLeish at Birmingham City as the two clubs edge closer to agreeing a £3.75million deal for the man who has netted 20 goals this season. But supporters fearing Boyd will be joining a host of other key players such as captain Barry Ferguson, Pedro Mendes, Steven Davis and Madjid Bougherra in quitting the club this month can rest easy. SportsTimes understands there will be no financial necessity for manager Walter Smith to lose any more of his top talents during the current transfer, window providing the sale of Boyd goes through as expected this week. advertisementIt's believed the Ibrox club have been forced to try and generate £3m this month to help balance the books during the current credit crunch and had braced themselves for having to accept the first decent offer for one of their leading players. Now, though, any future decisions to sell players will be made on football grounds rather than financial ones and Smith has been assured he won't be forced to rip his team apart further. Of course, if an offer is tabled for a player that is too good to turn down - such as the £9m fee Spurs made for Alan Hutton this time last year - then Smith will be forced to consider it. An Ibrox source confirmed: "The situation is simply enough - a certain amount of money had to be raised during the transfer window which meant a player with a transfer value of around £3m would have to be sold. "It basically meant that every single player was available for transfer for the right price but it just so happened Kris Boyd was the first player to bid for. "It's impossible to turn the offer down in case no further bids are made for the other players who have been linked with moves. "Providing Kris agrees to join Birmingham, and the two clubs agree a fee, then Rangers will be in exactly the same position they were in previously which is money will be tight but there is no need to sell unless they feel it's too good to turn down. "So the other players linked with transfers - Ferguson, Mendes and Bougherra - don't have to be sold. If they do go, it won't be to balance the books." Chairman David Murray confirmed that the club will allow Boyd to open talks with Birmingham if they two clubs agree a fee. It's thought an initial bid of around £3m has been rejected but an increase of £750,000 would see the deal go through. That extra sum would cover the 20% sell-on clause with Kilmarnock and leave Rangers clearing the required £3m. And Murray said: "Birmingham have made an enquiry. "We talked about money but we haven't agreed a fee." Newcastle United are believed to be interested in Ferguson, although Rangers still insist no contact has been made. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/display.var.2479833.0.0.php
  16. Cheers Bluedell, you're probably right about the buyer as SDM can't really be trusted..... Also as Frankie says the club is run badly and it must be to be so much in debt again. To me this is not the sign of a good businessman (or persons) no matter what company you are running. SDM has of course done well in his other businesses but in the last 10 years anyway he's not done a good job controling our finances and future but maybe he thinks differently.
  17. I agree Gribz , good established player for not much money but we seem to be wasting much more than that on others who have not proved themselves and get them on 5 year deals and not play them much or play them out of poistion don't we Our club is run so well in all departments ain't it
  18. I thought he said he had the chance to walk away when someone offered him what he wanted last year or not so long ago but he didn't because it didn't feel right he said? How does he know who is right for the club and how the would run the club once they took over? Was he scared they might actually take us forward? If he wanted out so badly then he surely should've took that option back then not do what he thinks was best for the club as he has not exactly done a great job himself by the state we are in has he!!! Surely if he did want to sell so badly he or someone on his behalf could've found someone but with the credit crunch now not many have the money so are we totally stuffed?
  19. It really is sad m8, I never thought I would ever say that as in a few years I was of course going to start taking Sam along to some games but I won't if SDM is still in charge. Surely if these stories happen then the fans must do something about it? I don't want to sit watching Rangers fighting it out for 2nd/3rd or 4th place, pity we can't get a refund for the rest of the season
  20. I will wait and see but if this happens and we sell our best players and replace them with nothing better (or more likely probably nothing) then the fans have to unite and do something against this repugnant chairman of ours. If he does not leave soon I am thinking for the first time since I have been going to watch our famous team not to bother going back as I don't see the point with him in charge if this is road he is taking us down!!!
  21. Chelsea forward Scott Sinclair has joined Birmingham on an initial one-month loan deal....

    Lovenkrands

No no no, he would only get played out of position anyway He has not got any better and virtually done nothing in Germany so why would we take him back on high wages? He is also another who does not fight for the jersey when needed and these are the types of players we need just now.
  23. NOTW I know but here's hoping the last bit is also true!! NEWCASTLE boss Joe Kinnear has admitted heââ?¬â?¢s made a shock move for Rangers skipper Barry Ferguson. Kinnear wants Ferguson to spearhead the Toonââ?¬â?¢s survival fight. Kinnear, who admits he may have to sell before he can buy, said: ââ?¬Å?I have enquired about Barry Ferguson, but weââ?¬â?¢ll wait and see what the outcome of that is. Weââ?¬â?¢re finding it difficult to bring certain players from clubs. ââ?¬Å?Our bids havenââ?¬â?¢t been accepted so far. The problem is two or three clubs are in for the same players. At the moment, there could be teams bidding more than us. ââ?¬Å?It would help if I could move some of the players here and get the finances in. But we have had no bids for them.ââ?¬Â Kinnear has also been linked with a Ã?£5m move for Fergusonââ?¬â?¢s team-mate, Algerian stopper Madjid Bougherra. Ibrox chief executive Martin Bain said: ââ?¬Å?Itââ?¬â?¢s all speculation and we donââ?¬â?¢t comment on that.ââ?¬Â Privately, Gers have had no indication Ferguson is keen to leave Ibrox for the second time. And they will be reluctant to sell the 30-year-old when heââ?¬â?¢s putting together a midfield partnership with Pedro Mendes. However if Newcastle offer to double the Ã?£2.5m Gers paid for defender Bougherra last July, they wonââ?¬â?¢t stand in his way if he wants to return south. Ferguson had an unsuccessful spell in the Premiership with Blackburn where he couldnââ?¬â?¢t settle and also picked up a knee injury which put him out for a year. Meanwhile, Ipswich are poised to offer Lee McCulloch the chance to start the Ibrox exodus. http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/scottish/scottish_sport/116509/Kinnear-wants-Bazza-at-Toon-Rangers-Newcastle-United.html
  24. also on sporting life this story now. http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/09/01/03/SOCCER_Newcastle.html
  25. Same old story for us, very good business wise but for the team and the fans it's getting beyond a joke RANGERS boss Walter Smith admits he might not be able to keep Madjid Bougherra beyond the transfer window. Newcastle United are preparing a £5million bid for the Algerian defender, as revealed by Record Sport, and Marseille are also keen. Smith is anxious to retain his top-team regulars and hopes only fringe performers leave the club in the next four weeks. But he admitted the chance for Rangers to double their money on a player they brought from Charlton in the summer might prove too tempting. The manager said: "I've never said as a club we will transfer any player we'd like to keep. There are obviously players in our squad we wouldn't like to lose. "We were in a situation last year when Alan Hutton was sold to Tottenham. We didn't want to lose him but the bid was such that we had to take it from a purely financial sense. "You can never say that won't happen again. We'd want to try to keep the group who have been involved in playing on a regular basis together and add to that if we can. "First and foremost, we have to adjust the numbers we have and that's the group who haven't been taking part in a lot of the games." Alan Gow is set to follow Jean-Claude Darcheville out the door as Smith continues his cull of Ibrox misfits. Rangers owner Sir David Murray and chief executive Martin Bain were at Murray Park yesterday to rubberstamp Gow's move to Wolves. A £500,000 fee has been a greed with the Championship pacesetters and personal terms should be hammered out over the weekend. Wolves' chief executive Jez Moxey said: "We're having discussions with Rangers." Other fringe players such as Chris Burke, Andy Webster, DaMarcus Beasley, Brahim Hemdani and Christian Dailly could go before Smith looks to bolster his squad with one or two additions. However, Andrius Velicka is not among the players Smith wants to move on, which will dash the hopes of Hearts boss Csaba Laszlo. Rangers have been boosted by the return to fitness after eight months of Steven Naismith who is in the squad for tomorrow's game at Inverness although he may not feature. Smith has set his side a New Year's resolution to go on a winning run that will take them closer to rivals Celtic after last week's Old Firm defeat left them trailing by seven points. He said: "We went on a run at this stage last season that eventually took us to the top of the league so we hope this campaign mirrors that one, although there are no certainties. "We have to make sure we're more steady and consistent - starting at Inverness." http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/2009/01/03/walter-smith-i-may-not-be-able-to-stop-madjid-bougherra-leaving-86908-21011887/
