But surely they have some say if they want the tickets or not as this not the usual straight forward fixture? It would hurt them financially (but they are getting SKY TV money and also the money from the first game) but would also say don't take the piss. You can't say one thing at the game and also on their website not so long ago and then change their minds. They can't get away with this, as usual the fans are being taken for granted big style.
-
The game is live on sky as well, I know it won't happen but it would be good if Rangers fans boycotted it as a few have said!!
-
I see they are charging fans again for the re-arranged game in December. I wasn't at the game but heard they said over the tannoy tickets would be valid and you would get in for free. They are charging half price but that is shocking. No refunds will be given to fans who cannot make it either. http://www.dundeeunitedfc.co.uk/index.asp?tm=2&nid=3343&cd=2009&cd1=11

I agree Noris, he was a decent yong player who had a few good games in Europe especially but certainly nothing special to me. Sad to see anyone's career finish but i'm sure he won't be poor and he'll get a job soon enough!!

is this the same TA that wanted to keep Burley as manager?
-
it's not like they are alki's, they are human, Barry and McGregor were virtually the best 2 players Scotland had and along with Boyd Scotland are missing them all big style........ sure you're not a tim

Half the Welsh team are from the under 21s, what a joke we are under Burley!!! Please go now......................

Nothing wrong with a good drink now and again. The press are the main problem in Scottish football all they print is negative stuff even when we're wining!! The SFA can GTF they are also to blame for the mess Scottish football is in. How much do the fat cats get sitting behind the desks doing bugger all coming up with more shite ideas after shite ideas, nice job if you can get it........what do the they actually put back into the game? the coaching is poor, the facitlties are poor, they are a shambles......

we wanted rid of him so i doubt there would be a clause there!!! good luck to him if true.......
-
Nacho wouldn't be at the top of my list to go just yet. Miller, McCulloch, Beasley, Davis, Mendes and if he's gonna keep playing Whittaker at RB and Laffery at LM then them as well. All non triers for me and there must be better out there for less money and wages!!! I would hope Danny would stay for a few years yet as he will hopefully get european football up here every season and will not get a game down there for years IMO. £2m what a joke price anyway

Joint Statement by Supporters Groups on Ownership of the Club
johnnyk posted a topic in Rangers Chat
JOINT PRESS RELEASE RANGERS FANS UNITE FOR CHANGE AND PROGRESS The Rangers Supporters Assembly, Rangers Worldwide Alliance, Rangers Supporters' Trust and Rangers Supporters Association united today to urge Rangers fans around the world to consider playing their part in changing the ownership of the club. The organisations are considering the options open to fans to invest in the club on a massive scale and on an accountable basis. We are considering various options for this - whether on our own or in partnership with others. We intend that the future of the club will never again be reliant on the goodwill of a bank or any individual. One option we are currently discussing with advisors is the changes necessary to turn the Trusts Gersave scheme into a suitable vehicle for the gathering in of funds. However, any form of investment will only take place on the basis of the suitability of the terms gained in negotiations. Rangers as a club cannot continue in the current state of limbo with the threat of being run by the Lloyds Banking Group. To move things on before the January transfer window we are formally inviting any potential credible investors to discuss their plans for the club with us. Rangers fans are by far the biggest financial investors in the club. We are determined that the club will continue to flourish and never again will it run the risk of falling into the hands of a bank. We call on fans to be patient but to unite behind sensible proposals we hope to recommend to them over the coming months. The prospect of financially stricken Rangers being owned by its supporters moved closer after a Scottish expatriate billionaire last night announced plans to buy out the Ibrox clubââ?¬â?¢s Ã?£30 million debt to Lloyds Banking Group. The Florida-based businessman and fan told The Herald on condition of anonymity he is ââ?¬Å?working privatelyââ?¬Â to ensure the money is repaid soon and bridging funding put in place to ensure a transition to create a supporter-controlled entity, similar to Spainââ?¬â?¢s Barcelona and Real Madrid. His intervention came as the Ibrox club prepares later today to release its financial results, that are expected to show a loss of up to Ã?£8m. The Glasgow-born entrepreneur, whose identity and oversees business dealings are known to The Herald, added: ââ?¬Å?This opportunity should be used to implement a new mission statement and business plan for the club and its supporters, to put it on to a long-standing business footing along the same lines as Barcelona and Real Madrid. ââ?¬Å?The club is nothing without its supporters, Rangers should never be an ego-trip or piggy bank for any businessman and should not be used as a ââ?¬Ë?for profitââ?¬â?¢ business.ââ?¬Â In the proposal about to be put to Rangers owner Sir David Murray by an English-based specialist finance company, existing bank debt would be replaced with a Ã?£30m bridging facility, to be paid down over two years; supporters would invest in Rangers shares over three years, with a target of 15,000 fans subscribing Ã?£1000 a year leaving them with a 50% share of the company after three years The chairman would also be re-elected every 12 months and no individual could own more than 5% of the shares with all profits put back into the club. South Africa-based millionaire Dave King is still thought to be the likeliest buyer of all or part of Sir Davidââ?¬â?¢s controlling interest. http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/home-news/billionaire-in-plan-to-buy-out-rangers-30m-debt-1.932051

Very sad news. We all have our problems and some can't seem to cope, very sad and such a waste of life.

RANGERS fans will be given an insight into how they could help fund a takeover of their club in a meeting at Ibrox this weekend. Fans' representatives from Hamburg - the Bundesliga club which is 100 per cent member-owned - and Espanyol, will address the GersPride conference which has been organised by the Rangers Supporters' Trust. A supporters' buyout combined with a consortium of wealthy local businessmen is being mooted as a possible way to seize control of the troubled Ibrox club who are expected to announce debts of around £30million when their annual figures are released this Thursday. Lloyds Banking Group is threatening to introduce savage cuts at the end of the season - which include offloading top-team stars - unless a buyer for Sir David Murray's 90 per cent stake is found. Glasgow-born South Africa-based multi-millionaire director Dave King has been tipped to ride to the rescue of the stricken Scottish champions in their greatest hour of need. However, if King, who has tax problems in South Africa, does not make a move for Murray's majority shareholding then Rangers becoming a members'-run club - a model which is favoured by many clubs on the continent - has emerged as a possibility. Hamburg fans' chief Jens Wagner, who will address the GersPride conference on Saturday, believes it is a realistic possibility for the Scottish club. Wagner said: "For me, this is the best way to run a club, but I know it is not going to be easy for Rangers supporters to make it happen. "It all depends on whether or not they can raise the money to fund a buy-out and I don't know how they stand with that right now. Why shouldn't it work at Rangers though? "It works in Hamburg and we are a competitive side currently sitting third in the Bundesliga." Hamburg have 65,000 members who pay a yearly fee of 48 Euros. That money is generally spent on supporter-related activities due to tax laws. However, the members elect a supervisory board that then goes out and recruits suitable figures from the football, legal or business community to serve on the club board. Emotions at the meeting, which will be chaired by MP Brian Donohoe and will run from 11am to 3pm, are sure to run high. As well as discovering exactly how much debt Rangers are in this week, fans are set to learn what punishment, if any, Uefa will dish out to their club after the trouble which erupted at the Unirea Urziceni game last week. And they will also have the outcome of Phil Gartside's EPL 2 proposal - which goes in front of the top flight English clubs on Thursday - to chew over. cmon the falkirk 1412: What a fixture in which to get your first win of the season. They've got 20 more minutes to hold on. Although they're not doing much 'holding on' to be fair. They're still going at Celtic.

I just seen this on Sportinglife. At least someone is backing the fans!! ----------------------------- RANGERS BACKED OVER BUCHAREST TROUBLE Rangers' explanation for the crowd disturbances in the Champions League match against Unirea Urziceni has been backed by a top Glasgow policeman who attended the game. The club have vowed to argue a strong case after being charged with the improper conduct of their supporters during Wednesday's 1-1 Group G draw in Bucharest. Television pictures showed a number of Rangers fans clashing with Romanian police in the stands at half-time, while one supporter was seen to rip out a seat. Chief executive Martin Bain has condemned those involved in the violence but blamed poor organisation and over-zealous policing for sparking the trouble. Superintendent Mike Dean of Strathclyde Police, who was helping to co-ordinate security at the Steaua Stadium, agreed. He said in the Daily Record: "The situation arose because, despite having an agreement in place with UEFA that four turnstiles would be in operation, there were in fact only two. "I was there with the UEFA delegate from right up until about 20 minutes before kick-off time, when there was a late surge with 400 or 500 supporters trying to get in through two gates. "At that stage, the public order riot police went in and sprayed the fans. This caused a lot of tension and the whole thing deteriorated. Fans were still trying to get into the ground at half-time. "What happened inside the stadium at half-time was probably a direct result of the tensions outside. I was not happy." The matter will be dealt with by UEFA's control and disciplinary body on Thursday. Dean, who has has already spoken to UEFA to give them his on-the-spot version, added: "Eventually, we went to the control room and spoke to the match commander. He got very excited and started shouting when all I was attempting to do was give him my advice, with 10 years' experience of these kind of things. "He then decided he needed the stewards to remove some of the Rangers flags, to clear seats for the fans who were still coming in. "I told him the fans will do that themselves. But he chose not to take my advice. It was at that point a steward went in to remove some flags and was challenged by the supporters. I can't condone those fans who came rushing down from the back and would warn them the CCTV pictures are of tremendous quality." Responding to Thursday's charge, Rangers chief Bain said: "We have been informed by UEFA that disciplinary proceedings have been instigated in relation to the throwing of missiles and crowd disturbances. "As already stated, I am not for a moment condoning the action of some supporters to the unfolding of events within the stadium. "But, as a club, the preparations which were agreed and insisted upon in advance were not adhered to and this in turn we feel jeopardised the safety of our supporters. "We are fully aware of the indiscriminate use of CS gas and the difficulties experienced by our fans accessing the stadium. "All these factors will be presented fully by the club to UEFA in our submission." Wednesday night's trouble was the latest instance of Rangers fans landing the club in hot water with UEFA. The Light Blues were fined £13,300 for supporters' discriminatory chanting and £9,000 for attacking their opponents' team bus during an away game against Villarreal in 2006. The following year, they were fined £8,280 on an improper conduct charge for fans' behaviour at an away UEFA Cup game against Osasuna. Supporters have also been in trouble with police, with the rioting during last year's UEFA Cup final in Manchester regarded as one of the most shameful episodes in the club's recent history. http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/09/11/06/SOCCER_Rangers_Trouble_Lead.html&TEAMHD=soccer

Surely Walter and the coaching staff must be able to see what we are seeing Frankie? Davis, Thomson, Mendes and McCulloch have been woeful this season in midfield. Why not drop them and play some youngsters? They won't do any worse than these guys are and will show more enthusiasm than all of them put together.....

exactly, our best scorer we've had for years and he's nearly out of contract and not playing in any big games for the club. why would he want to stay?
