super stuff
-
so is robert green and a fit ben foster ...........
-
so robbie keane who won nothing when he was here, and those 3 has beens sorry when they start getting top players i'll start to worry. keane is a good player but the others are well past it and IMO nothing to fear, just a waste of money to try and keep their fans happy.
-
Beattie is another for me who has not really done what he could've. just a spoilt big kid IMO who has earned a fortune for being an average player in a rich footballing country.
-
i'm the opposite, these guys are overpaid, past it has beens IMO. i wouldnt want to be linked to these guys at all.
-
well read what you said it did sound like that to me mate ........i would like to get players in but not panic buys to ease the fans nerves. if we have to wait until the last minute to get the right players then fine with me..... "It's still a potential signing though. Yet another one... while we still do hee haw - AGAIN"
-
so you'd rather we just sign any old has been just so we can say it's a signing
-
But it's not the first time it's happened is it? There is a post eleswhere about this, they come out with something every year before ST sales and it never happens. I bought my season ticket on that basis and i'm sure others did as well. Why should this year be any different especially with the financial trouble we are in?

Remember Gribz is the kink of guy who liked players such as buffel and sebo who have both turned into world class players since they've left us

I used to remember not that long ago players never wanted to leave us and were gutted if they did. Now it seems no one cares if they leave us or not and especially so called Rangers die hard supporters as Ian said about Boyd. OK we have no money but there doesn't seem to be the same prestige playing for Rangers these days as there used be. The only person who seems to want to stay is Walter.

I think in this day and age the majority of fans are online and know or can guess that all this positive news, or any news, usually comes out about ST renewal times but we still buy the ST knowing deep down it will not happen. I would say buying a season ticket is getting behind the team.
-
I wouldn't call our fans mugs/suckers just for getting behind the team and renewing their season tickets each year. I knew before I renewed mine we were in financial troubles and think we will still spend some money but not as much as we all would like. I think it will be a very interesting and testing season when it does start and hopefully we do get some new players in. I am actually looking forward to seeing some youngsters get a chance this season.

Was this not in the news weeks ago and he only said it as he was asked the question ? Not a prolific scorer at domestic level as BD stats show.
-
Can't see him getting many games at all in the next few seasons which will only hinder his progress and payments to us i guess.

Frankie (or anyone in the know) is there any fan groups/trust finding out what is going on at present? i.e. Do we actually have the £5m quoted to spend on players and do we have the extra £4m generated so far on sales or is that going directly to paying of the debt? I mean there must be a hell of a lot of players who could come in on decent wages and do a good job for us for around europe and beyond so why is a very average player in eagles the only one we have bid for (and thankfully declined the offer)? As usual the fans just want the truth but we get nothing but BS after we renew our season tickets.
-
he doesnt want to stay so it would be better getting more money for him now.........
-
I quite like him actually but i'm sure he would get much more dosh in Dubai...
-
I thought it was to do with how long he has been at our club and the cost of training and education he has received from us, nothing to do with how much he earns really Annexe four of Fifa’s training compensation guidelines states: “Training compensation is due when a professional is transferred between clubs of two different associations before the end of the season of his 23rd birthday.” http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/affederation/administration/01/06/30/78/statusinhalt_en_122007.pdf

good signing and good move for him as he should play more there than he did for chelsea.....
-
i don't think he's scored a dozen goals in his last 10 seasons and i doubt he would play that many games to score that in one season even up here, it's not that easy as people think i also agree with gribz i doubt they can even afford a has been like him
-
He was a decent player but very injury prone again, a fraction of the player he was a villa many moons ago. Has he not only played about 30-40 games in the last 5-6 seasons?
-
We would get something back, something like £650k I think has been quoted under FIFA rules relating to players under the age of 24. Ledley waited until he was 24 before he signed for the tims so they get nothing........
