  1. Wasn't that Shakhtars first game since the start of December, maybe something in this winter break lark Roma finished 2nd in quite an easy CL group IMO, they never really hammered any of the teams but won 3 games, including against Bayern it has to be said, by the odd goal. Very indifferent league form and could easily win in the Ukraine on their day but I'd fancy Shakhtar to go through now.
  2. Doesn't mean they would have been successful at Rangers even if they have been successful elsewhere though does it? But yes a list of those managers would be good.......
  3. When did they start playing extra time in SPL games
  4. Gattuso was mental all game, he looked like the typical whingeing moaning Italian player, embarrassing he was. I don't really like spurs but they have been fantastic in the CL so far and hope they get through, Harry has done a great job there. I agree with Metlika that the Serie A is behind a few other European leagues at present.
  5. 3-1, diouf, naismith, davis
  6. I'll now be checking the odds for a penalty or 2 to the scum and at least once sending off for us
  7. :nj: for me oozes class the big man, I hope we can hold on to him for a few years at least..........
  8. i am a big fan as well but he was better off leaving us. he is enjoying his football again, no fans or press on his back especially after 1 or 2 bad games , no press hounding him out looking for a headline.........
  9. bunch o alki's, berwick isnae happy wi ye's
  10. I blame the Ros© wine Ian
  11. i wasn't meaning you in general, it was a plain and simple good health to the man thread but others chose to slag the him on other reasons, as frankie said it's not the thread to do that but i guess people can post what they want where they want.
  12. I don't think anyone is saying that here are they? most that i can see have just said best wishes etc for his health. Can't someone start another thread if they want to slag the man for his post jobs outwith Rangers and i'm sure you will get a different tone and set of posts altogether and probably from some who have wished him good health. Or don't even bother posting if they detest the man as much as they are saying.
  13. the forums i've been reading only say get well soon, best wishes etc from the majority of posters, i've not read much at all saying he is a gers hero again, great guy etc...what forums are you getting this from?
  14. 3-0, Jelavic 3
  15. Just means the weekend starts a bit earlier if they are played on Friday afternoons
  16. I've not seen many (on here anyway) say he's now suddenly a hero again, all they seem to be saying is get well soon
  17. If he is going to play for us in the future then I would rather see him play first team football for someone else in Scotland as it is different to English football.
  18. Would these be the same passes he is now doing in the EPL but players seem to be getting on the end of them and he's getting rave reviews about? He is a better all round player now than when he was with us but he still IMO had quality but apart from his first full season with us we didn't see much and he drifted in and out the team which also didn't help him IMO. Like bluedell said his attitude seems to have changed and he looks much fitter but he has also said the training is a lot better and harder than he ever had with us.
  19. It's not the Rangers way though Frankie We always have to train players for other positions rather than their more natural or own preferred ones!
  20. SCOTLAND Under-21 new boy Darren Cole yesterday revealed that he is being groomed to play at centre-half for Rangers next season. Cole made his debut at right-back for the Ibrox club in the 1-1 draw with Bursaspor in a dead-rubber Champions League game back in December. He hasn't featured in the first team since, but he has been instructed to bulk up in order to anchor the Rangers rearguard in the 2011/11 campaign. Cole, 19, said: ""It's a season of firsts for me. I've just joined the Scotland Under-21 squad for the first time, and I made my debut for Rangers against Bursaspor in Turkey a couple of months ago. "Following that game, the management at Rangers spoke to me about building myself up and getting bigger and stronger, so I'll get more chances to play. "I've been working as hard as I can in the gym, and hopefully it will pay off. There's a sports scientists there so there's no way you can cheat as you're always under supervision." Edinburgh-born Cole was a shock choice to line up against the Turkish champions and he admitted he didn't even get the opportunity to worry about it adding : "I only got told I was playing in the Champions League a few hours before the game so I didn't have time to be nervous. "As soon as I touched the ball a couple of times I was fine. The management were saying after the game that I could still play right-back, but they want me to play centre-half, and that's why I have to bulk up. "They're looking at next season for me now so I just have to get as much playing experience as possible in the meantime, and hopefully I can get some game time with the Under-21s in our bounce games this week. "I think I'll end up at centre-back but I prefer right-back or even left-back, as you're getting on the ball more and you can influence the game more." http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/227925/Is-Darren-Cole-being-groomed-to-replace-Weir-and-Boughera-/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
  21. "Now Lennon has warned Diouf to watch his mouth. Lennon said: "I know he's said something about me today that's just nonsense. I just told him to keep quiet because he had a lot to say for himself. "There was a lot that went on in the game and these things should be left on the pitch instead of telling everyone how hard done by he feels about it." January Manager of the Month Lennon also had a pop at Gers ace Naismith - who was sent off after a second yellow for diving. And he lit the blue touchpaper ahead of this Sunday's trip to Dundee United by telling Arabs boss Peter Houston to mind his own business after claiming Naisy SLIPPED and didn't dive. Lennon added: "The Naismith thing? I think the ref called it right. "Naismith went to take a dive in the first ten minutes and wasn't booked so he can count himself fortunate to be on the pitch as long as he was. "I'm not happy with the Dundee United manager's comments about Naismith after he accused Ki of going down like a sack of tatties at Tannadice, a bit bizarre. "It must have been a slippy pitch. Obviously he's an expert groundsman as well now." -------- He tells others to shut up yet he can't keep quiet himself. If our players are not up for any of the 4 OF games and the rest of the season then they should be ashamed. What I would give to have an Ian Ferguson type player and character in our team just now!
  22. He's not a right back or midfielder for me. CB all the way who loves to run forward nothing wrong with that. Imagine what we'd lose at the back if he was not there!! We need another partner for him but he might be away in the summer.
  23. He needs to start playing more or there is no point in keeping the young lad and holding back his career like we did with charlie adam. 1 game in then out for 5 or more is no good to anyone. I like him but he needs a long run in the team and I can't see that happening under walter.
  24. Apart from Weir there's no other dinosaurs in our squad and this should/has to be his last season. I have no problem with us having some players up to mid 30s as they give expericence which can only help the youngsters coming through.
  25. But he has also played a very big part in our last 2 title wins and scoring 'very' important goals along the way, i think he has shown he can play but like his countryman davis doesn't do it often enough which is very frustrating.
