    I doubt very much Ally, like virtually every other manager (unless you're harry redknapp ), has anything to do with the money side of things in players deals. The player of course meets the manager who will try and sell him the club but that's it. I still can't believe any fan can give him a hard time until we start playing games, in fact it makes no sense at all sorry!

    Exactly and our new manager has a list of targets he now wants and it's up to Smith and Whyte to negotiate to get them. They will offer what we can afford and what they think the player is worth, this is always the way it's been done so I can't see why McCoist is getting any stick whatsoever here and i'm sure Smith and Whyte will not pay over the odds for anyone as we have done in the past. As SA said if they turn out to be rotten then fair enough. I doubt with him being a rookie manager that this will put off players, I'm sure over his career as a top class player, TV pundit and coach and also his big personality he has a large friend base and is well respected in the game which can only help him but only if the player wants to come to us, to play in the SPL and hopefully the CL. If they want to go to the English 2nd tier purely for money then that's up to them.

    You don't seem to be a fan of Ally and he hasn't even managed a game for us yet, give him a wee while in charge surely :surprised:

    I think most of the fans would agree with you Gribz, but it's not up to us, if Ally thinks Whittaker is worth it then that's all that matters.

    Some fans want better and pick on the player/s who are not or have not been performing consistently well especially last season and Edu was very poor after coming back from injury but played well in the run in, but to say it's great news is a very poor choice of words. It was the same for Lafferty not so long ago I'm sure he'll be the next target if he's linked to someone. And now Whittaker is getting slated for turning down new deals, if he thinks he can get better elsewhere then good luck to him but I don't see why fans keep slating these players everytime it happens. You don't get that many loyal football players these days mores the pity.

    He can't seem to win, half the fans like the way he's going about things unlike SDM and the rest are not. I like what i'm hearing from him but he needs to get players in sooner rather than later.

    I agree, he's not our best player but unless we replace him with better quality I don't want to see any players leave....

    He's a decent player but not one I would lose sleep over if he left. I agree with what Tumshie said, he's either good or bad. Any team he left us for would be a step down IMO as he's not going to sign for a top club anywhere else.

    Conway is a decent SPL player that's it, I was hoping we didn't sign him and it looks like we're not, he's not any better than what we have. Goodwillie is a good player and one I would like to see play for us, unless he gets locked up! We've had plenty of players who have attracted trouble in the past and most of them done well for us and some even changed their ways!! I'm sure Ally and other staff/players would help sort him out if needed.

    I agree that Alexander is good enough to be our 1st choice keeper although I certainly hope shagger mcgregor stays. On Gordon I think he is now very injury prone and wouldn't touch him at all.

    there's not that many teams who have made lots of signings that i can see, maybe hearts aside, i'm confident we're talking to the players we are after and will sign some soon enough so no need to panic...........quite a few fans seem to want our transfer dealings kept quiet, maybe this is the case with some we are after now?

    I hope he does well for Villa and think he will, the Birmingham board signed players he didn't want and blamed him for it. He won them their first cup since 1963, qualified for Europe and only got relegated on the last day of the season. Good luck Eck.........

    Very strange date picked by the plods, even though it's a 'working' day as such i'd still say the majority will be on holiday and it then gives them the whole day for drinking before the game

    I never wanted him to sign second time round and don't really want him again, but IF he did sign he'd get my full backing as he certainly proved me wrong last time. I would however rather spend �£1M on someone younger like Goodwille who would also be on less wages.

    they don't even have a manager just now so it's probably paper talk as usual. He wants to stay and I hope he gets signed up long term.

    IMO the majority of the away fans are poor and rarely add to the atmosphere these days. Apart from Ian1964 starting songs such as 'get yer tits oot' and 'you fat b*****d' nothing much else happens in the away end

    Moving back with the wife mate , the house is at the back of the orange hall we can actually see it from the window! Not been in the Red Lion yet but sure I will soon :cheers:

    Cheers mate, I'm still in the same house but hopefully moving to New Stevenston in the near future. There was a massive Orange walk where I'll be moving to, just stood at the door and watched it was a braw site to behold

    I've read Man City/Mancini want him to play in a better league than the SPL, i admit the Spanish league is slightly better
