  1. This was in the Sun yestertoday. http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/spl/4174878/How-to-get-that-1m-of-savings.html
  2. Not sure how much profit we'd make or if the SPL would let us do it, but can't Rangers show away games on the big screens at Ibrox?
  3. Released from contract: Gregg Wylde Mervan Celik
  4. I've just spent well over £100 from our online shop buying t-shirts and shorts for my holiday in Florida coming up soon
  5. A bit more hope there than what we've been hearing recently.....
  6. We will need to watch Ian at the games more now Frankie
  7. We would of course miss them all but most of all Aluko, McCulloch and Kerkar who all have been playing well recently IMO. Alexander has been a great pro but we can't afford 2 top keepers just now, Healy won't be greatly missed, Broadfoot is borderline for me. I can't see Aluko or Kerkar being on big wages so that seems strange? IMO McCulloch (and others) should offer to play for virtually nothing as he has been injured for long spells with us but I doubt that will happen and I suppose they do have bills to pay like the rest of us but you think they would have money in the bank from their careers. Sad times
  8. big jig will play at the back, in midfield and up front
  9. Gordon Smith was quoted on SSN saying he had no control over anything that was in his job description and every time he spoke to Whyte he didn't get a clear answer. Said as he couldn't do his job properly and he was better off leaving the club!
  10. If this is true which is does sound to be, I doubt Whyte can ever show his face again in front of our fans. The guy has lied to us all along and is now selling parts of our history, how can this be happening without anyone else knowing!
  11. We've certanly wasted plenty of money on players and hardly given them a chance to show what they can do here. Hasn't Ortiz scored 3 goals in 3 games since his return to Spain? Maybe he is being played in his preferred position, or maybe it's to do with tactics or just that he didn't suit the game here but he is another who didn't get much of a chance for us.
  12. someone from within the club is maybe leaking him stuff? he seems to know a lot about us!
  13. http://www.rangerssupporterstrust.co.uk/rstsite/ Fans Meet With Paul Murray Tuesday, 21 February 2012 11:47 The Board of the Rangers Supporters' Trust and representatives from the Supporters Assembly and Supporters Association met with Paul Murray, who has registered an interest to buy with the administrators of Rangers FC, on Monday night in Glasgow. Fans representatives stated that they would work with any bidder to ensure the survival of the club but that to be credible any incoming consortium would have to demonstrate that as well as making financial sense their business plan ensured that never again would the club be run on the whim of a single shareholder; that the Board was truly representative of the various stakeholders; that value was retained within the company; and that good governance was paramount to safeguard the long-term well-being of the club. Mr Murray explained his position in broad terms - the scale of the problem is still to be fully established but he expected the work of the administrators would shortly provide an accurate picture of the finances of the club. He stated that the goodwill of the broad mass of fans was absolutely vital to save the club in the short-term and to enable it to prosper in the long-term. Mr Murray stated that he would be working in the coming weeks with colleagues and the administrators to obtain a clearer view of the current financial position; the reality surrounding the Ticketus contract and the validity of securities granted to various parties. It was agreed that Mr Murray would provide updates on the progress being made. The meeting ended with the Trust Chairman Gordon Dinnie reiterating the position of the three fans groups being that never again should the club be put in such a position and that all proposals regarding the club would be measured against the principles of democratic control and good governance.
  14. the guy got a raw deal IMO, good luck to him when he goes.
  15. RANGERS boss Ally McCoist and his top-team squad will today plead with administrators for the chance to foot the bill of keeping their football club intact. McCoist has held a series of heart-to-heart talks with his shell-shocked players, and captain Steve Davis in particular, as the dressing room braces itself for the cost-cutting plans expected to be announced by London firm Duff and Phelps before the end of this week. And Record Sport understands the manager and his players could attempt to safeguard jobs across the club – from the tea ladies to the ticket office staff – by cutting thousands of pounds off their own wages instead. The big-hearted plan will all hinge on the scale of the cutbacks required to mend the financial crisis which absent owner Craig Whyte has left behind during his disastrous reign. If the damage is too severe not even McCoist and his players will be able to fix it on their own. However, the Rangers manager believes there is a willingness among a majority of his men to sacrifice what they can for the cause. This could mean accepting percentage deferrals on their pay packets, possibly for as long as it takes the club to come out of administration and get back on a stable financial footing. And it would allow them to limp on together until the end of the current campaign without seeing some of their team-mates forced to face a firing squad. It will be discussed further at Murray Park this morning before McCoist takes his players on to the training pitch to prepare for their next SPL match, away to Inverness Caley Thistle on Sunday. But before they know how deep they will have to dig McCoist faces another crucial round of breakfast-time talks with Paul Clark of Duff and Phelps. The Ibrox boss will ask the administrator to clearly define how much money needs to be sliced off the club’s wage bill – and then ask for the authority to implement that himself. It would then be up to McCoist and his players to find a fair and equitable way of shouldering the cost between themselves, with the biggest earners facing the most substantial cuts. McCoist would only say last night: “From the meetings I’ve had with the players and with Steve Davis I can tell you the players are united. “We all want to find a solution in the best interests of the club. I will speak again with the administrators and update the players.” A source close to the talks added: “There is a lot of talking to be done but Ally knows the best way to handle this is by keeping the players together and showing a united front. “It would be far better for everyone to take a hit than for individuals to be tapped and the shoulder and taken away. That is the nightmare scenario and the lads are worried sick about it. “The good news is that dressing room is full of guys who are Rangers fans and feel a sense of duty. “They also realise there are other people around the club whose jobs are at risk. It’s not just about the dressing room. There are many others whose hard work and dedication goes unseen. “Without the support and help of these people it would have been impossible for the players to deliver success in the last few years. The players’ attitude is at Rangers we are in it together. “So if it’s at all possible to make some kind of deal with the administrators then that would be the first option for Ally and the players. But it all comes down to just how much they need to cut.”
  16. he should get a chance, but i can see others such as bartley playing there before McKay.
  17. When you watch or listen to that interview from Super Ally and then you think about what Lennon comes out with as in the likes of his twitter posting yesterday etc, I know who I would rather have as manager any day of the week. Fantastic stuff from Ally I am really looking forward to the game and atmosphere at Ibrox tomorrow. WATP.
  18. At least Paul Murray has come up with some sort of plan, hopefully there are others out there as well, does Whyte have a plan after this? The main thing I want is for that liar Whyte never to be in charge of our great club again.
  19. starting as a new club is not on IMO, why can't we be told the truth for once, totally gutted and feel quite sick
  20. welcome to gersnet
  21. you're right i don't believe it
  22. not really inspiring if cousin signs but we do need strikers and he will as usual get my full backing on the pitch and hopefully he can prove me wrong
  23. Exactly, there are bargain strikers out there which i'm sure even we could afford, but we are just left with Healy and putting the rest of our hopes on Lafferty when he gets back and and can stay fit, not really inspiring to say the least. Optimistic as I usually am and still hoping things will change but I can't see us winning the league unless the tims collapse like we have and we can somehow start playing well and go a decent winning streak.
  24. Can CW afford to do that? We have let players go via transfer and on loan who should be playing for us IMO, they certainly wouldn't do any worse than what we are seeing just now. The buck stop with Ally and his management team. He would rather play with centre halfs at full back, defenders in midfield, left sided players on the right, play the long ball up to small strikers against big defenders, play players who are not match fit while we have fit players readily available in our squad who don't even get on the bench. We need a manager who will boot the players up the arse for a perfomance like that but knowing Ally most of them will be playing again next week getting their cosy wage packet. We need a leader on the pitch but sadly we don't have one of them either. Give our forgotten players a chance in their correct positions they might even do well, give more youngsters a chance this sesson they will show more desire i'm sure than some of the so it seems undroppable players no matter how they play and what result we get.
  25. get them for yer garden zappa
